69: Crashing the Party

69: Crashing the Party

A young boy with dark red hair is silently cultivating when a knock sounds. “Enter.”

The door opens to a young woman. “Young master, the invites are being sent out.”

“And her?”

“A guard believes she entered last night. We sent people to track them down and extend your invitation.”

The boy opens his eyes. “It should do good to see the strongest in my generation below me. You’ve scouted any potential dark horses as well?”

“Indeed young master. If any dark horses popped up in the previous two weeks. We won’t know of them.”

“At most it would only be a few. Probably worthless to not make a name sooner. You may go.”

The young woman silently left the room.

It reaches midday as Raja Kint opens his door to Exochos Kint.

Exochos Kint says, “Did you get a letter?” He holds up a black envelope with a partly sticking out paper. Raja Kint shakes his head no. “Hmm. Well I’ll extend it to you. This invite is for the stronger people of our generation to meet up before the competition.”

“Huh, but weren’t you seclusive all this time?”

“I traveled frequently to experience the world. I also fought with some others during these years. Although, to get this information is quite impressive. So, you coming?”

“Eh, I’ll see. Just ask me right before you leave.”

“Sure.”

Raja Kint sat back down to continue cultivating. I don’t see much point in going to whatever that is. Anyway, I’ve consolidated my fighting experience. I’m getting close to the next stage. Probably breakthrough after the arena but before the 1v1s.

Night soon arrived as Raja Kint was called downstairs by Master A. Raja Kint went downstairs to find Master A with the front door open. The girl he met right before he left for the Lerup Sect had arrived. Master A stepped away to let the two talk.

Raja Kint said, “Didn’t think you would go around looking for me.”

The girl put her hands on her waist while looking away. “I happened to stumble onto the worst looking house here, with the worst looking sign and became curious what their worst cultivator would look like.”

Raja Kint replied, “Well, you’ve seen what you wanted. I’ll close the door so you can leave.” Raja Kint began closing the door.

Seeing this, the girl slid her foot to stop the door. Raja Kint asks, “Why come here?”

The girl frowned. “To think you would hate me so much. We even shared a meal together.”

A slight frown appeared on Raja Kint’s face.

“Alright, I’ll tell you. There’s a little meeting going down with the younger generation. I want you to come with me and stir some trouble.”

“What trouble?”

“They’re probably going to be talking boring things. Trying to be friends and did I say boring things.”

“I have an invitation myself,” said Raja Kint with a straight face.

The girl smiled. “I know you didn’t receive an invite. You’re a no-name. How could you have received anything.”

“What’s the plan?”

A mischievous look appeared on her face. “With you not having an invitation. Why not try to enter with me? From there we can improvise.”

Raja Kint raised an eyebrow. A voice echoed behind him, “I agree with her. Let’s do this with all three of us.”

Raja Kint turned to see Exochos Kint. “Why would you agree?”

“I was iffy on if I even wanted to go. But this will make things interesting. We’ll be making ourselves the enemy of the superstar prodigy of the Fenix Sect. What could be more interesting.”

The girl’s eyebrows shot up. “A kindred spirit.”

Raja Kint says, “I’m down. Guess we’ll be making enemies. They could try to group up against us in the group battles.”

The girl looked at Raja Kint. “Scared?”

“No.”

Exochos Kint says, “Who can contend?”

“Oh, you’re quite domineering. Well, I’m more than strong enough. But Raja may be a bit too weak.”

Raja Kint curiously asked, “What’s your name?”

Silence descended as both the boys looked at her. She pursed her lips, as she began randomly looking around.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Raja Kint says, “You remember what you told me when I asked last time?”

The girl yawns and stretches her arms. “Ya know I’m kinda tired. So, how about asking me this some other time?”

“If you won’t tell me then I won’t participate anymore.”

She grumbles, “My name would scare you out of your skin.”

“There’s no name like that.”

Exochos Kint asks, “You’re someone important at a regional level aren’t you?”

The girl wrinkled her nose with a leveled glare toward Exochos Kint.

Exochos Kint continued, “You’re talking to two people who don’t care about your background. But you’re also risking the trust of Raja here.”

She continued to glare at Exochos Kint. “Sigh.” She closed her eyes before looking at Raja Kint. “My name is Calanthe Cardinal.”

Exochos Kint nodded his head. “The Cardinal Region. But you aren’t all that known are you? Are you secretive or?”

Calanthe Cardinal’s eyes narrowed. “You should stop asking questions. I’m known as Calanthe Cardinal.”

“Raja, she seems a bit complicated.”

Raja Kint smiled. “Her past isn’t more complicated than mine.”

The two looked at Raja Kint in curiosity.

“Care to speak?” asked Calanthe Cardinal.

Raja Kint shrugged. “Even if I told you, nobody would understand.”

“Oh, it seems the odd one out is…” Calanthe Cardinal’s eyes shifted to Exochos Kint.

Exochos Kint smiled. “I would hope people I know aren’t ordinary. Anyways, let’s meet here when it’s time to go.” He walked off.

Calanthe Cardinal looked at Raja Kint. “Guess I’ll see you tomorrow night. Hehe, I really want to see something fun go down.”

Raja Kint closed the door heading to his room. Once inside he sat on his bed. Seems I’m not the only one with a secretive past. His brows furrowed. When she first met me she mentioned me being interesting. Causing that man to take a second look at me. But, what did she mean?

Raja Kint frowned then smiled. “Seems this world is more interesting than I originally thought. Tribes cursed by the heavens, reincarnated immortals vying for the peak and that weird girl. Regardless, this world is just a stepping stone in the end. If I remember correctly. One can leave a world once they’ve reached the second step. So, for now that’s my most important goal.”

Raja Kint’s mouth formed an “O” shape. “Father also made this world as a backup location too. I wonder if there’s a reason. Too much to think about anyhow. I just need to focus on this competition.”

The day silently passed as the three met at the door. Heading off toward the party hub of the Bisuke Empire. Raja Kint and Exochos Kint are taking in the scenery of the empire. The streets were lined with buildings pleasing to the eye. With it being nighttime. The lit torches and moonlight shone down on the world. Creating a warm vibe for everyone. People were everywhere having fun on this calm night. With winter being in the latter stages the night air was refreshingly cool. Raja Kint was reminded of the few times he traveled through the towns on his home planet.

Walking the streets with his family as they traveled to a restaurant. His siblings and him smiling and laughing with Enyo Kint and Irini Kint. Walking the lightly lit streets, casually greeting others along the walk. Enjoying the cool air as they ate delicious food.

“Uhn.” Raja Kint lightly shook his head. I can’t afford to have a clouded mind right now.

The three soon reached a building with a short line of people and two men standing outside checking everyone. Looking closer, Raja Kint noticed the men were checking for a paper.

“Seems you won’t be able to enter so easily, How about standing in front of us,” says Calanthe Cardinal.

Raja Kint stands in front. He concentrates his ki into his eyes and looks toward the two men. Outer ki realm ninth stage.

Exochos Kint says, “They put weak guards not expecting anyone to do anything in the empire. Seems this is a perfect opportunity.”

“With me here even if they wanted to do something. They wouldn’t be able to so much as touch a hair on our heads,” says Calanthe Cardinal.

Soon Raja Kint’s turn arrives. The guards look toward him as he continues to walk forward. The right guard holds his hand out.

“Show the paper you received.”

Raja Kint looked at the guard. “Paper? I just want to enjoy a party with my friends.”

“This is an invite-only party kid. Turn around and go somewhere else.”

Raja Kint curiously asks, “Invite only party? What’s that?”

The guard chuckles. “You really are young. It means you need that paper I told you about. Now go on kid.”

Raja Kint swings his lips side to side for a moment. “Is there a way to enter without a paper?”

The left guard annoyedly says, “Either you leave or I’ll make you leave.”

Raja Kint looks at him. “You alone?”

The left guard frowns as he takes a step forward. Staring down into Raja Kint’s eyes. Raja Kint wryly smiles as he begins turning around to the right. He looks at Exochos Kint and Calanthe Cardinal and smirks. Nobody outside the building or inside the building were prepared for what happened next.

On his right foot, he rapidly spins like a top and sends out a powerful right punch. The left guard thought Raja Kint was leaving, leaving him mentally unprepared. Not to mention the speed Raja Kint was capable of due to his high ki control.

The punch slammed against the left guard's chest. His feet rising into the air, his head violently jerking forward. Despite his mouth opening he couldn’t breathe.

“Kablam!” The left guard slammed into the wall of the party. Breaking through the wall allowing everyone inside to see outside. Those close to the crash were hit by debris. Those a bit farther away were able to quickly move. Everyone watches as the left guard sails through the air.

Suddenly, his body stops and everyone looks behind the left guard to see a larger boy. The boy threw the left guard to the side. At this moment everyone looked toward the hole in the wall.

Those in the line held different facial expressions: surprise, joy and anger. Exochos Kint held a calm face. Calanthe Cardinal was grinning ear to ear. The right guard’s mouth was an “O” shape, his eyes popping out of his head as his head slowly turned from the left guard slumped on the ground. To the debris, the broken wall and Raja Kint still holding his position.

Raja Kint slowly lowered his arm as everyone looked at him. “Seems I can enter now.” He casually began walking forward.

“Hold it.” This wasn’t the right guard who spoke. Footsteps sounded out in the building when a young man with dark red hair appeared. The outside light shining on him as he stood in the path of destruction.

Raja Kint was a bit surprised to see the boy. The boy seemed to be about his age and gave him a sense of danger. Raja Kint calmly looked at the boy. “What is it?”
