When I previously declared myself as a psychic, it didn't feel all that special or important. That was because, until recently, I've only had the one power of telepathy. As it turns out, there are an alarming number of psychic abilities known to the general public.

Telepathy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance, future-sight, dynamic projection, astral projection, and biolution. Some unlisted abilities were deemed impossible or debunked entirely by the Scryers of the Altiri, though many others are under a full study, while those of the Yogi Philosophy practice these abilities to some extent.

On one hand, I haven't learned much else from what I used to be capable of; I can now invoke future-sight clairvoyance on top of my specific telepathy. On the other hand, using clairvoyance to see the near future of almost any person I want on demand is still pretty awesome on its own. Just saying it makes me sound like a superhero! Yeah, I'm getting ahead of myself there, but how many other people can say they do the same?

I'm allowed to be confident about my powers, because I can invoke them anytime I want, as long as it's cold enough outside and I have the energy. Here; I'll do it again right now, changing my target this time.

I have Honors Lit for my final period, then I go home from the parking lot as usual. I happen to know Banarus is here today, so I'll focus on her for a change. All I have to do is gently keep my eyes shut, calm my mind, concentrate on what I want, and project very specific signal patterns, just as Lumina coaxed me to do. Lumina told me it can be tricky for a novice when I don't understand the personality of my target, but I know Banarus pretty well by now, so that's already been checked off.

I inhaled a very deep breath, letting my silent surroundings of the library dissolve into the ambient space around me. With my eyes still shut and my mind mostly clear of all thoughts, I concentrated the subject matter directly towards Banarus with all the ordinary details, mainly what she looked like and what her character was like. With that in mind, I had to choose a starting time reference for when I wanted to know the most, the start of my last class of the day. Then, I passively waited, projecting psionic signals without too much power, purposely lowering the amount I could project from theoretical maximum. Lumina trained me not to force anything, that what happens next would happen naturally on its own.

The buzzing sensation inside my head intensified from how it felt before, and after several uneventful seconds of the same kept concentration and gradual projections, random moments of events started flashing quickly through my mind on their own. It looked like some kind of movie playing back at three times the speed, segmented up in pieces skipping through random seconds of time and space. After my reference time reached about 14:52, the moments about Banarus became very specific, less fragmented and more maintained. She was sitting with her usual group of friends, giggling and laughing over whatever jokes she and a few others shared, though I was out of that frame.

As soon as I realized what I was seeing, I immediately switched the target perspective from Banarus directly to myself within the same reference time, within the same momentary invocation of clairvoyance. When I did, I ended up seeing exactly the same thing, just from a different physical angle of sight. Shortly after, I saw the moment fragment again, fast-forwarding past the moment where I ventured to the parking lot amidst the crowded halls of other leaving students, eventually making my way to dad's car before going home.

I ended the vision there, knowing I would learn nothing more from seeing the rest of my own future, since I already used it on myself earlier. Once the vision ended, I opened my eyes, allowing the rest of my mind to process everything I witnessed, while taking a good chug of purified water. What I learned from this invocation wasn't anything far out of the ordinary. In fact, it was kind of boring.

Still, I've maintained better control of this power more recently than I ever did before. For instance, even though I only get three invocations per day maximum, I can extend the period of time I'm using a single invocation of clairvoyance, if I focus enough. Additionally, just as I had done seconds ago, I can also change the target of the interested person of clairvoyance or the reference time, shifting back and forth without having to end my sessions and start a new one, so long as I keep maintaining focus. My maximum clairvoyance run time per invocation seems to be as high as a full 90-seconds, which means I have 90 seconds to determine all information occurring within an 18 hour window of myself and others around me. I didn't see much more about Banarus, because I can't use that ability to follow her home unless I concentrate really hard with utmost precision. If I have classes with Banarus the day after, being the first or second period, I might catch a glimpse of that moment too, if I invoke it early enough and wait long enough.

As for the reason I would be sitting alone in my Lit class observing Banarus and her friends, it might be simpler than we would think. I sit alone in that class most days anyway, recently at least, and it's all likely that I would have invoked clairvoyance to see that anyway before making an initial decision to do so. In other words, I saw the future in which I had already decided to use clairvoyance on Banarus, to sit and watch the same moment play out once the class rolls in, at precisely 14:52. The very future I saw involved me seeing into the future, that I just saw...

It's only coincidence though, since I got used to using Banarus as many of my echo targets. If I really wanted to, I could change the future that I just saw. Maybe I could walk up to their table and sit down, even if it makes them uncomfortable. Or, I could just act like a complete fool, getting them to laugh at me instead of whatever inside jokes they shared. The point is, if I choose to do nothing at all about this clairvoyance when I witness it, the future very much stays the same, and I can observe the moment to prove it to myself, as I've already done several times this week. Alternatively, I can alter the course of things to come, though proving that I saw the future in this exact instance becomes less possible, since I can no longer link what I foresaw with what would have been.

Heck, I'm sure I could go another two rounds if I wanted to. My mind is so alert and alive! My senses are as sharp as knives right now! I'm technically connected to Lumina, though we both have the connection phased out. It doesn't mess with my clairvoyance. If anything, our active connection seems to make clairvoyance come easier to me. It's an unintentional effect of the telepathy. In the moment I'm connected to Lumina, we share psionic energy between ourselves, with me obtaining more, or sharing a smaller proportion of the load, since she is the stronger node. As a result, I end up with more potential psionic energy to utilize when I want to do something such as clairvoyance.

As fascinating as this is, I've become very active in my practices lately. Shortly after I finished with Banarus, I invoked another instance of clairvoyance, focusing specifically on Mikaela. Once I got the ability going again, I initially did not return any data while focusing on Mikaela, until right at the end of the school minute. When I saw the brief lasting fragments of her walking the halls, I kept my focus on her while rewinding the reference time a bit, all the way to now, though slowly and gradually so I could trace her movements. It didn't take long at all. She has a music class or something around this period, but she doesn't appear to be in it today. Instead, she's standing outside the rear entrance of the building, back arched against the stone while texting wildly through her phone. I got to see every visual detail from an interesting side-angle. From what seemed about five feet away, I could easily make out all of the details, even the way Mikaela styled her phone, as if I were staring at her in person. Then, the vision ended.

Mikaela is a little bit harder to track than some of the others here. I've only been able to guess that it's because I don't know her all that well. Clairvoyance works with less success if I use it on strangers, and won't work at all if I try it on someone while incorrectly guessing any of their personality traits. I don't have to be fully correct, just partially. Still, I never thought a face and a partial personality were required for echo data to be returned. On top of that, I occasionally invoke clairvoyance on someone who yields no return data even if I know them better than a stranger. They remind me of the 10%. Lumina mentioned them to me once; that about 10% of the random population remains totally immune to all psionic scanning, including Clair-sensing, telepathy, even purging.

Still, I've focused on specific individuals for a good reason. When it comes to Banarus and her friends, I've hung out with them before, so the success rate goes up. When I focus on Zero, I can track her movements all the way back to her house since I've been to her house before and know where to aim. I sometimes even see segments of Zero's sister when I'm not event trying to. Then there is Mikaela, who all until recently didn't interest me for clairvoyance study.

I had an interesting moment days back, where I saw fragmented visions of her shouting at a mirror with her eyes partially squinted shut. It took me time to realize that she was actually singing instead of yelling. Every time I hear her indoor voice, it reminds of what I saw, because it makes perfect sense now. Mikaela has such a sharp, loud, and refined voice, and I'm saying that without ever hearing her sing.

So, I confronted her about it. I asked Mikaela out of the blue if she sings often, or likes to sing. Of course she admitted to it, though was curious about how I knew she liked to sing. I didn't bother filling her in on the clairvoyance thing, since the conversation was awkward enough as it were.

I'm not really ready to tell anybody about this clairvoyance just yet, not until I learn a lot more. For all that time however, I can study this ability with direct practice, as many times as I want to. Since I don't always get a 100% success rate, it can be somewhat unreliable, especially to use as a tool to prove to other humans that I have this ability. One day, I'm sure I'll have the chance to show everyone what I've got.

I wish I could be more specific on the exact detailed process of how to properly project these psionic signals, but it's not easy to describe. It's much similar to how I call Lumina, though the ability uses less energy, less intensity, more sustained concentration, and a lot more patience. Everybody technically has the power to project psionic energy. We all do it anyway without realizing it, on such low levels of mental activity, but an amount more than zero all the same. Without a purge, it would take someone about 19 years to learn clairvoyance, and some more to master it, but we are capable. Deep down, we're all actually scions...

We just haven't tapped far enough into this power yet. Even for me, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. I want to know how deeper this collection of abilities goes. What is psionic energy made of? What is psionic energy capable of?
