Chapter 87 – After the War (Volume 5)

Nelus: (Look at all these souls… I need to handle them all once I am alone, I’ll leave the souls from the land of darkness in Folia’s care.)

Ciall: Nelus… or should I say Nebulus…?

He asked as he scratched the back of his head, so much had happened that Ciall didn’t know where to start as Nelus said calmly.

Nelus: In this world I am Nelus so calling me that name is fine.

Ciall: I see… well can I ask you some things?

Ciall said as he smiled wryly. Suddenly his eyes sparkled.

Ciall: Is that the power of Gods? Who knew your powers could be so great! Also I noticed that your name is the same as Lina’s blessing… could it be…?

Ciall said with a hopeful face as Rezald smiled wryly, Kawt was glaring at Ciall for getting too close as Lina stared at the two with a confused face. As for Halvard, Melzir, Wedea and the others, they listened closely to what Nelus was to say.

Cellux: Easy there Ciall! No need to rush, Lord Nelus is tired.

Nelus: I can answer some question but leave some as we go back.

Cellux and Nelus said as Ciall becomes embarrassed for showing a childlike behavior as he then asks.

Ciall: Why isn’t father surprised? Don’t tell me you already knew?

Rezald: Actually, we both knew. Only a few knew this fact.

Ciall then had a wry smile as he thinks of himself as Nelus’ friend and something as important as this… still… he would want to know more about Nelus.

Calice: (I guess the people of Alxia will finally know of your existence! I’m so excited; also I guess there is a reason why you didn’t show yourself in Alxia, judging from what took place I guess there are evil Gods too… I’m surprised to know that there are even other Gods…)

Nelus: (That’s right… as for the reason… I can’t tell as it is our law to never reveal what is the situation in our pantheons. Also it is regulation to only show our world the Gods that govern it.)

Calice: (I see… then I won’t pry further…)

Nelus: (Well, you will find out someday as our link lets you see through my eyes after all even in the pantheon… I really can’t understand how this was possible.)

Calice: (No need to think further of it as it is after all, the first ever link between a God and a Spirit Ruler. Just go with it!)

Calice said as she smiled broadly. Nelus then sighed as he looks towards the others as they try to go closer to hear our conversation. They are far too curious…

Ciall: How did Lina get older? Somehow I felt the aura they emitted was kind of different but they have the same feeling emanating from them…

Nelus: It was synchronizing with the soul, it is a phenomenon I had seen before that the body regulates itself due to the changing of the main soul.

Ciall: Oh! Just like the Kazur from the domain of water!

Cellux: A race that is born with two or more souls… they can even change from male to female… is Lina…

Nelus: You need not worry about that, her body is different from them who could physically transform. In Lina’s case is the perfect harmony between souls… (They say that another of oneself can exist in other worlds… or at least that is how it is for the two Linas? As for Llyra, I guess either she was accepted by the body or that as a God, such a thing like moving in with the soul is possible… well this is another first case so I cannot explain it…)

Ciall: If you had such a power why didn’t you show it in the first place?

Folia: Haha! Even I can answer that!

Folia said as the beings of darkness followed behind her with deep admiration in their eyes.

Ciall: Lord Folia!

Folia: It is common sense to us Gods, if a world contains a certain amount of power, other Gods will either destroy it or covet it. They will try to kill the God and secretly make it their linking ground.

Folia said with an uncaring face as everyone became pale at her words…

Ciall: How terrible…

Folia: Well almost all beings desire power, there are some who do not but most are.

Riseos: Then, will the other Gods attack again?

Folia: There is a possibility but as it might be far in the future, let’s not worry about it for now.

Riseos then glares at Cellux as Cellux remained calm, Riseos then sighed as he turned around as he followed Folia.

Folia: Goodbye Lord Nebulus! As for you guys get ready for some punishment! Let’s meet again, you can come by anytime… as for your skill that I borrowed, I’ll keep it for a while.

Folia said as they became paler, even with her pranks done by other people were maddening, what about something done by Folia herself? What if she used her chaos magic?  

Clara: Lord Nelus, I too will return with Folia.

Nelus: You didn’t need to tell me.

Clara: What about you Kawt?

Kawt: I’ll be Lux Academy’s teacher, teaching Lord Nelus’ students will be an honor.

Andros: Hahahaha!! Another teacher will join us and it was from our rival school, though I think times right now will be quite different.

Andros said with glee, Nelus then sees his students who were smiling at him and looking at him with admiration. All of them went in front of him and bowed with gratitude, all of them survive because of Nelus’ teachings, though the same cannot be said to the soldier they lead…

Welg: Thanks teacher!

Meril: Thank you!

Cheil then look at Lina and pointed at him and said…

Cheil: He’s mine.

They all gasped at what Cheil said as all her classmates had a wry smile as they all knew she would say that. As Lina looks at her eye to eye, Cheil was glaring while Lina had an innocent face, confused at Cheil’s actions. Still, there was this invisible spark between Cheil and… Llyra’s soul. Llyra then sighed as she remembered how popular Nelus was back then … it was just hard to approach him so she didn’t have a problem keeping him for herself. Llyra then had a smile on her face as it seems like there was no reaction at all from Nelus.

Altan: Papa, we go home?

Tania: Quite a hectic day… the sun is setting. Father, why don’t we go back?

Nelus: Is that okay with you?

Nelus said as he asked Ciall. Ciall then smiled as he nodded. Melzir then called the Winged Ark to transport the injured soldiers as Wedea ordered the others to fly back. The Xaelos are after all long range attackers so most of them are still okay. Nelus then saw Rido… and Falmi…

Falmi: H-hey, you should visit sometimes…

Rido: Well… if you don’t mind…

Fion: Oho… Falmi, looks like you have found your “target”.

Falmi then understood her words as she then blushed, normally a succubus will shift from one partner to another but there is an exception… it is their “target” which a succubus will be loyal to no matter what and a mark of loyalty will appear on their body once they meld with their partners. Fion then went back to her group as Maque was crying tears of blood. Dotis was chained by Folia as she pulled on him and Lexa was obediently following Folia. She then opened a huge hole with void magic as she transported every remaining beings of darkness.

Rezald: What a day… well it’s all over.

Andros then approached Rezald and said…

Andros: Will you be teaching even after the war?

Rezald: Of course! I think I quite like teaching. What about you Bro Nelus?

Nelus: I am sorry but I will be gone for a while.

Andros and Rezald then smiled wryly and said…

Andros: What could be the reason?

Nelus: I need to find my friend… I will come back but it will take quite a lot of time. ( I need to find Genbalt’s location so I’ll start with the Land of earth to investigate.)

Andros: Take all the time you need. Lux Academy will always be there waiting hahahah!!!

Nelus and the others then flew back to their destinations. For Nelus, Ciall, Rezald and others headed back to Uire. Upon arriving Altan immediately ran back to the mansion teary eyed and as he gaze over the surroundings he became teary eyed…

Terul: Master, where did you go? I…

Altan: Terul!!!

Altan then ran to Terul as he jumps and hugs her tightly, for Altan Terul was like a caring big sister. She is one of the irreplaceable people in Altan’s life like Nelus. Terul’s eyes soften as she felt Altan’s distress and smiled at him as she then said…

Terul: Don’t worry, I’m right here…

Terrul then stroke Altan’s head calming him down. Ciall then heads back to the palace as Yeuhl, Runice and Zala ran to him.

Zala: Father! Where is Lina!?

Ciall: She’s fine, right now she is with Nelus and the others.

Yeuhl then notices something as tears fell uncontrollably…

Yeuhl: Dear… your divinity…

Ciall then smiled as he wiped her tears.

Ciall: Nelus removed the curse.

Runice: Let’s celebrate!!

Zala: So did we win the war?

Ciall: About that… lets discuss it at dinner. I’ll invite Nelus and the others, there are a LOT of things that need to be talked about…

Ciall said as Zala and the others became confused… after all Zala didn’t participate in the war so that she could protect Uire and her mother is something happens.

On Nelus’ side…

Rezald: Well, I’m tired, I’ll go rest a bit in my room.

Jisa: Take care. Nelus I’m glad you’re safe! Hahh… well you and Cellux are powerful after all. I was surprised when Altan and the others disappeared…

Nelus: Where is Frei and Fala?

Jisa: Oh? They tried to find Altan and the others… well they should be returning…

Jisa said as a pair of beastmen entered the room…

Frei: Hahh… no luck…

Fala: Don’t worry we’ll find them…

Frei and Fala said with a depressed face…

Nelus: Frei, Fala, welcome back.

Frei: Lord Nelus!!

Fala: Does that mean…?

Nelus: Altan and Tania are in their rooms.

Frei and Fala then sighed in relief as they then said…

Frei: How was the war?

Lina: Uncle very awesome!!

Frei: I see… Well it’s good that you all came back safely.

Suddenly, they hear a knock on the door as Jisa then answered…

???: Invitation from the king for dinner. Will you all accept?

Nelus: Yes, we’ll come.

???: Alright, thank you, I’ll go tell the king.

The man said as he went away. Nelus then told them to get ready as he went to Rezald’s room as he heard him snoring… it seems he really was tired, he didn’t have time to rest after all…

Nelus: (I’ll help him a little… Restore, Aqua Rejuvenation…)

Nelus said as he cast two spells, one for his mental state and another for his physical state. He then knocked on the door as Rezald woke up and stood immediately.

Rezald: I feel great!!! All I needed was some good sleep.

Rezald then opened the door as I told him to get ready as we are invited by Ciall for dinner. He then grinned as he said okay. After getting ready, we went the palace together as we were guided to the dining hall as usual. Ciall then announced that he will tell everyone exactly what happened…

Zala: Is that true?

Yeuhl: Unbelievable…

Jisa: So Nelus… is a God!?

They all said with shocked faces as Frei and Fala stayed the same.

Frei: God or not we will still serve Lord Nelus.

Fala: Well said!!

Nelus then smiled gently as Ciall continued to tell what happened… he then told of the start of the war until the part where someone who looked like Nelus that was evil appeared… Nelus then explained that it was the embodiment of his grief going amok… well it was partly true as without Nelus’ despair he wouldn’t have any power to appear at all. Then he told them about the unbelievable battle between Gods and their immeasurable power as they were stunned, unable to imagine Ciall’s description…

In the end he told them about how the war ended with no sides winning but he thinks that it was better this way as it will avoid some future conflicts… if the Beings of divinity wins… the beings of darkness will try all they can to have another war… and if they win, they will try to take over the land of light as it is their only goal… unlike the other lands, ours have the most resource so it was highly coveted by them. Also, who doesn’t want to expand their land, though I doubt they will have complete ownership of it as it will surely bring out the anger of some of the Gods as well as the retaliation of the other lands in fear of experiencing the same fate. As the dinner finished, we went back to the mansion as suddenly…

Nelus: You guys head back first, I’ll follow soon.

Frei: Yes Lord Nelus.

Rezald: Hahh… doing something again? Well, lets head back. Don’t stay up too late Bro Nelus.

Nelus: I’ll be back soon, it just feels like someone’s calling me…

Fala: Can’t we come with you?

Nelus: I’m afraid not… I sense a barrier that only I can enter.

Rezald’s expression became serious as he then asks…

Rezald: Is it an enemy?

Nelus: No… I don’t think so…

Rezald then sighed in relief as they then head back. Nelus then entered the barrier as someone familiar appeared in front of him…

Red Spirit: I don’t have much time… so I’ll quickly tell you.
