Note: Hahh… my author mind is so exhausted, good thing I refilled it with reading other novels which inspires me as well as motivates me at the same time. I’ll try my best so that I can reach my milestone which is the end of volume 5 as there will be TONS of chapters left especially the 40 – 80 chapter volume in the future… there are still so many volumes left on my mind… I write this all at the spur of the moment with only 3 hours of free time each day… recently I only have 4-5 hours of sleep. XD

Chapter 64– Peace before War

Nelus: Is it really over?

Halvard: What do you mean?

Nelus: Dae couldn’t have amassed that much amount of those monsters by himself, where could he have hidden such a number, more so monsters with an aura of X ranks

Halvard: It can’t be… so does this mean he is still out there?

Nelus: I can’t be sure but at these times it is better to be cautious, also I think the situation was far too advantageous for those beings of darkness, I can’t help the feeling that they were all behind this.

Halvard became wide eyed as he realized something… Raan said that the men that killed her took Dae’s body and said that they will experiment on it. So that means… he finally has a clue on who killed his wife… a cold light appeared on his eyes as he tries to go out of the room as quickly as he can as Nelus said.

Nelus: Don’t be too rash. There is always a time for everything.

Halvard: I can’t just stand around now that I know that my wife was actually killed! Especially when I finally realize a clue, and there is a chance that it was the beings of darkness who did it so…

Nelus: So you will go there?

Halvard: I need to take vengeance.

Nelus: Stop, you’ll endanger your children, didn’t you just promise to protect them?

Halvard: I did… then how can I quench this thirst for vengeance?

Hearing Halvard’s word’s Rezald couldn’t help but grit his teeth at the familiarity of the situation towards his and said.

Rezald: I know that feeling too… you see everyone important to me was killed too and right now he is living happily doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

Astonished at Rezald’s sudden outburst he looked towards Rezald’s direction and as he heard what Rezald has said he couldn’t help but become curious and asked…

Halvard: If so then what did you do next?

Rezald: At first I thought of killing myself but fate didn’t let me and I’m glad it didn’t as if it did, I wouldn’t have met new important people that I want to protect. (Right now I am trying to become stronger so that when I return, I’ll become a better leader than my father and give retribution to that person’s doings.) I will become strong so that one day when the time is right I will avenge those he had killed. As for your situation, it’s much more complicated than mine, what if it was someone stronger than you or has more people to have them go against you, are you confident that you will surely win as well as protect your remaining family? For me my family is dead as well as the one I deem most important to my life so and I think they don’t be a threat to those important to me right now. Yours are still alive shouldn’t you prioritize those who are with you right now!?

Rezald said with a trembling voice, clearly agitated. Nelus grabs Rezald’s shoulder calming him down. Rezald’s word have a feeling of heaviness within it as it was the hard cold truth in which Halvard nodded as well as understood that Rezald wasn’t just talking nonsense but something of backing. He too calms down and ponders a bit and sighed…

Halvard: You’re right… I don’t need to rush; there is still plenty of time for me to think of how I go about this but for now I’ll focus in raising my children. Also I heard that a war might be coming so I need to assemble my troops just in case. We’ll also need to gather the leaders of the races of the beings of divinity for a meeting.

Nelus: Halvard will you come with me a bit? Rezald, you can go back for now. You trust him now that you heard his answer right?

Rezald was smiling as he expected Nelus noticing his unease towards trusting Halvard but seeing his sincere expression he couldn’t help but believe in him as once again it reminded Rezald of his self.

We then got out of the palace and headed towards the gates of this city. Rezald then goes the other way as Halvard and I flew off towards the place I intended to bring him… it was the cave where the divines are hiding. I wanted him to have a talk with Cellux as if they will host a war meeting someone like Cellux will help as well as Andros, with this the three great races of the beings of divinity are together and will surely raise everybody’s spirit.

As we enter a group of divines saw me and bowed down towards me to show their utmost respect. Halvard then noticed that something was peculiar so I made them unfold their wing as metallic wings popped out of their back. One word came to Halvard’s mind “Divine” as he stared with a dumbfounded expression. Halvard was someone who had lived for an extremely long amount of time so I wondered if he would recognize Cellux.

As we headed towards the place where Cellux resides we entered the room as… Halvard’s expression became stiff… in the room was Cellux holding his wife Queisa as they ogle each other affectionately and said…

Cellux: No matter how much time had passed you are still the shining gem whose colors will forever remain.

Quiesa: You flatter me so my dear but what about you? You are like an unbreakable sword, peerless in every way… you have pierced my heart many times, more times than I can ever count.

Cellux: Queisa…

Quiesa: Cellux… my love…

Suddenly, they passionately kissed as they hold each other in embrace as Halvard’s eyes tried to casually avoid what is in front of him as he coughed and said.

Halvard: Ahem… I’ll just wait over there…

Nelus stood there waiting for them to finish as it felt like he was in a same situation as before and a thought came to his mind. “Like father, like son I guess…”. Seconds passed then minutes… then an hour as they kept on flirting with each other and kissing as if they were inside their own worlds disregarding those around them. As suddenly I felt someone approaching me… it was Minael.

Minael: My Lord Nelus, what is it that is of your need to grant us your honorable presence…?

Minael said while bowing as she suddenly spot some moving figures behind me. Her face becomes flustered in embarrassment and shouted…

Minael:Lord Cellux!?

As Cellux heard Minael shout he stopped what he was doing as he stood up immediately after gently removing his arms around Quiesa.

Minael: Hahh… Lord Cellux… next time you thought of doing those things can’t you observe your surroundings first?

Minael said with a scolding tone towards Cellux.

Cellux: I’ll try next time…

Nelus: Greetings Cellux.

Cellux had an awkward expression glancing at his flustered wife as he stutters while saying as he face Nelus.

Cellux: Wh-when did you arrive?

Nelus: An hour ago.

Minael: Ehh!? For making Lord Nelus wait how shameful of us!

Minael said while glaring at Cellux as he paled. Quiesa was covering her beet red face in embarrassment for being seen in such a situation.

Cellux: I-I am sorry Lord Nelus will you forgive me?

Cellux said with an apologetic expression while bowing.

Nelus: Yes… also I came here to have you meet with someone.

Cellux: Who is it that you brought here?

Halvard: It is me… Lord Cellux… it has been so long…

Cellux: Who are you?

Cellux said with a perplexed face as Halvard seemed pretty familiar to him.

Halvard: It is me Halvard, son of Kedil.

Cellux: Ohh!? Little Halvard!! You have grown so much!

Cellux said with shock as well as delight.

Halvard: Is Lord Cellux doing well?

Cellux why yes! How is Kedil?

Halvard: He is gone he depleted all of his divinity when we were attacked before.

Cellux: I see… too bad… hahh… and I wanted to talk to him like the old days.

Cellux said with a disappointed tone as he recovers quickly and asked.

Cellux: Lord Nelus, there must be a reason took him here, may I ask what it is?

Nelus: I think you have heard from Ciall that a war might be coming so I and Halvard thought if you can appear during the meeting of the leaders of the races of divinity.

Cellux: Well I planned to participate anyways so there’s no problem.

Halvard: Mey I ask why Lord Cellux calls Nelus by “Lord”?

Cellux: It is because Nelus was the one who rule over the divines before me… (actually, he ruled everything from the start so in a way I am not lying.)

Halvard’s face paled as he bows towards me and frantically shouted. Obviously showing his respect towards the divines… so that time when he belittled me after finding out I was a divine was not true hmm… maybe at that time it was because he was influenced by Dae’s control or at least that’s what I think.

Halvard: My apologies!! Who knew Lord Nelus was so prominent! I have been rude towards Lord Cellux’ predecessor!

Nelus: You can just call me Nelus.

Halvard: Alright if it is your choice.

Afterwards, Cellux and Halvard had a private talk as Minael took this chance to have a talk with me while serving tea with the ingredients they got from Ciall. It was quite a high class tea as Minael asks if it was in my liking in which I nodded as she smiled with ecstasy showing on her face. She converse with me about many things before me and Halvard headed back as we then parted ways.

Minael: What are your impressions at the current Alxia Lord Nelus?

Nelus: Quite normal, I am satisfied with it.

Minael: I see… also thank you for giving me you precious time Lord Nelus.

Nelus: Can you tell me what your Point of view about Alxia before you came to this place?

Minael: Gladly!

Minael said with gentle smile. Afterwards, I head back to Uire to rest a little. I then decided to read a little and headed towards the garden and found Zala playing with Lina… it seems she was also teaching her a little bit of magic while showing a little sphere made of light on her palm, it was the spell Lux Light, a very basic spell.

Zala: Okay Lina, try it!

Lina: Yes! Uuu-uuu-uuu!!

Suddenly, Lina concentrated with all of her might trying to gather her mana… her face turns red while trying her best as light started to gather towards her palm. She was so cute that Zala wanted to hug her immediately but didn’t as she was afraid to break her concentration. I then noticed that there seems to be someone else with us who was concealing his aura… It was Ciall, fidgeting while looking at the two. He had an extremely satisfied expression on his face as a tear formed on his face as he then said.

Ciall: Hahh… they grow so fast but they will forever be my little girls in my heart.

Lina then cheered as she successfully cast Lux Light. Even though it was half the size as Zala’s both of them were glad as Lina then looks towards my direction and said.

Lina: Uncle! Look look! I made light yay!!

Zala: Uuu… Lina is so cute!

Zala said as she holds her in a tight embrace as Ciall looks at the two with envy, it seems Ciall wanted to hug Lina too.

Lina: Wah! Sister too tight!!

Zala: Ah! Sorry… hahaha… I got a little carried away.

Lina: Muu!! Sister can hug Lina anytime but not tight it hurt!

Lina said while pouting as Zala suddenly has the urge to hug her again… it seems both father and sister is doting on her quite a bit. Lina then towards Ciall as it seems he was discovered by Lina but shrugs it off as he was at bliss from Lina suddenly hugging him.

Lina: Father! I made light ehe…

Ciall: You sure did!

After that I headed back to the mansion. It seems Frei and Fala were having fun too having a conversation with Rezald… Jisa then enters the conversation at some point.

Fala: Wow! This depth of flavor… how did you do this to the steak?

Frei: Quite impressive… it taste superb.

Rezald: Hahaha! You’re making me blush.

Fala: Can I learn the recipe and where did you learn to cook?

Rezald: I learned it at the time I was working at an inn.

Jisa: I want to learn too!

Fala: We all know Jisa can’t cook.

Rezald: Really? Not even a single dish?

Jisa: Hmph! I have a talent on making rations you know!

Jisa pouted as all of them had wry smiles on there faces… thinking if it is counted as a dish. It lasted until dinner as we then ate together… It felt so peaceful that no one would think war will come but it seems it is unavoidable. By then we need to get ready for it to come. I want to protect them no matter what.
