Chapter 5 - Request

Nelus: I see... then why did you hide it from her?

Leo: It is because... someone wants to kill her... I once fought someone out of greed... when I was a bit younger I tend to be... reckless... I stole something important from him... and he stole something important from me... he killed my wife... I fought him again, as we were at a standstill he vowed instead to kill all those that are important to me so I didn't get too close to anyone. I couldn't do anything. Reila is the only one left important to me. I can't stand to lose anyone anymore... "HE" does not know she is my daughter and I think he is close to finding out...

Nelus: Is that related to this duel?

Leo: Yes, to see if you are more fit to protect her... because if I were to fight, he already knew how I fight and I can't defeat him anymore especially if Reila is there... I will prioritize her safety than defeating him which might cost both of our lives. I can feel it... he is getting near. If you learnt his name, do not say it... it will attract him no matter where you are. When he is near the forest I will battle him again and by that time I hope both of you will be far away.

Nelus: I understand.... when that time comes... stay alive, just like Reila is the only one family left for you it is the same with her, even if she isn't yet aware of your existence.

Leo: Thank you...

Nelus: ...

Leo: Please protect her at all cost... I know we already owe you so much... but please...

Nelus: If it is for such a request then you don't need to give me anything.

Leo: You really are quite a mystery...

Nelus Now then shall we go to the arena?

Leo: No need, I will use a special magic to send an image of our soul to a blank dimension. In that dimension, no matter what will happens it will not affect your physical body so please show me your power!  

Nelus: I will.

They each sat on the grassy ground in a crossed legged position. Nelus closed his eyes as his consciousness slowly fades. When he opened his eyes, around him is just a white space that seemed endless but changes into an endless meadow. In front of him was Leo, standing up getting ready for their duel. Leo has a solemn expression as he looked at Nelus as his muscles tenses up.

Leo: Nelus are you ready?

Nelus: Yes, come at me.

Leo, using the spell, , summoned a spiky spear made of light and charged at me. Nelus' material body existence is at S-C so he cannot use his full power. he dodged his head, barely avoiding the thrust as Leo grins. The back end of his spear started to bend and turned against him extending itself toward his chest at a speed faster than a bullet. He decided to use as pressurized water formed around his palm. He used "Divine Combat Style: Reflex Stance" which increases the speed of his reaction and parried the spear edge with a push with enough force for Leo's stance to crumble causing Leo to stare in surprise.

Leo: What was that!? Such reaction speed...

He then used . Sending lightning from his hand to the spear reacting with the water to increase its power as it explodes, but before it exploded Leo threw it and summoned a sword made of light.

Leo: To overload my spear... how much mana do you have, even with the magical reaction it should not be enough to destroy my spear. 

Nelus: A lot.

He the gathered dense earth on his palm using and fired it like a cannon at Leo. He dodged, Nelus closed his hand controlling the ball of earth to explode. Even if many of the shards didn't reach him, some propelled earth does at high speed pierced his flesh. Blood drips from him but in a second his wounds have closed. He is a Paladin Overlord... he has monstrous regeneration, even if he loses a limb he can still regenerate it but of course to them it will take time. Their healing skills are superb as well as their mana enforced body are more reliant in defense than strength. He needed to give as much damage as he can, Nelus thought. He then used the  causing walls of earth to surround Leo.

Shackles made of earth latches burst out from the walls latching onto on his feett slowing him down enough to gather mana for a large attack. Using Piercing winds gather around Nelus as Leo destroyed the dense shackles one by one using his sword. Nelus then rushed at Leo with great speed as the wind ravaged the floor that Nelus has passed, using the surrounding walls smashed towards Leo forming a cocoon as Nelus punches the earth cocoon using "Divine Combat Style: Strength Stance" increasing the destructing force of the winds causing the cocoon to burst out into dust. The dust settled revealing Leo whom was encased in an armor made of light, panting and full of severe cuts and bruises.

Leo: If I had been a second ha...ha... late it would've been over... for... me ha...ha... do not look down on me you are still holding back! !

He completely recovers from all his damage and fires a spiral light towards me with , a light spell. Nelus blocked with  forming an earth shield but it manages to penetrate it and damages him. It seems he needs to increase his magic to deal enough damage but with his current body he cannot use even stronger magic so he thought that instead he should make use of magic reactions which Gods normally do not use due to the hassle of doing so. Nebulus then used  on one hand and on the other, he points his palms towards each other electrifying a large amount of the gas above his other palm as plasma forms until it is in a spherical shape.

Leo: I have a bad feeling about that... so you still have some tricks within your sleeves.

I threw the sphere towards him as he dodged. 

Nelus:

The sphere's direction shifted at high speeds and appeared in front of him. It explodes with a huge amount of force and sends him flying.

Leo: Guah!... I'm not done yet! !!!

Using , a small circular sphere of light was floating on Leo's palm. despite its size its power is formidable. Nebulus had no choice but to increase his existence nearing his original which is X-E greatly burdening his material body. With only for a split second he threw the sphere and as Nelus dodged, it follows him with great precision as it was too late for him to block. It explodes with great intensity. If he had kept his existence at S-E It would have been fatal. It still damaged Nelus somewhat. He needed to end this fast, Nelus thought as his body was inwardly crumbling, he  summoning 1 sword made of piercing wind with terrible might unlike the magic he has used before, he used it again 5 times as all the emerald colored swords floated above him. Nelus pointed all of it against Leo and propelled it toward him causing the air to split.

Leo: I will not lose! Gungnir come to me!

He summons a spear like weapon with an intimidating aura. It is a mana weapon... It cleaves against all the swords of darkness cutting them into pieces and he suddenly disappeared from sight and appears behind me. I tried to dodge as he thrust but it managed to gain contact and severs my left arm. It seems with such a weapon Leo was able to have strength at the peak of S but not enough to approach Godhood.

Nelus: Kh... It seems you to had been holding back. (God's Eyes)

The True Piercer, Gungnir Type: Spear, Dimensional Weapon Durability: ?? / ?? Quality: (Fragmented) Godly A spear thought to be made to fight the Gods but was for naught as Gods are formless. It is said to have an ability to pierce anything inferior to it. It corrupts those other than its wielder.

A fragmented Godly ranked weapon, and it is not a mana weapon but a dimensional weapon. Only some of the other worlds have Mythic weapons, moreover a fragmented Godly ranked one... If it were Nelus' pre-strengthened material body it might have injured him greatly, fortunately they are in an image transfer. It made Nelus wonder if that Shadow Noble didn't have a cheat magic like black flame which targets a life and greatly surpresses light, Leo wouldn's have needed his help but using this weapon he should be able to... Nelus' mana connecting his arm was cleanly cut... it will take time for it to reconnect... well once the battle is finished it will be like nothing has happened so for now Nelus Decuded to focus on the fight but first he became curious...

Nelus: Don't tell me is that what you stole...?

Leo: Yes... It is a mana weapon yet it can be used by someone else other than the contractor it is quite weird. It felt like it was calling out to me.

Nelus: I see then why didn't you use Last time during the time with the black flame?

Leo: I can't... he is connected to the weapon, I would rather die than let him know where my daughter is... He is a much more of a threat than her.

Nelus: Then why can you use it now?

Leo: We are in a different dimension so here it is okay.

Nelus: Can you tell me his name now?

Leo: I still can't... whether it is written, said, telepathy or any type of mention of his name he will notice... I has tried before in telling my friend but he was killed too.

Nelus: I see... (So he is connected to his name like the Gods...)

Leo: He was a rank X otherworldly being...

Nelus: An otherworldly being... (A being nearing Gods... well my rank is low campared to other Godly beings but with me being a class of God King the quality of my power surpasses theirs...)

Leo: Yes... and his race was something I had never heard of... the serpent race... He wears a cloak most of the time but I can see his yellow snake eyes beneath it... even with gungnir it wasn't enough...

Nelus: Thank you for telling me... I'll get a little serious too... come to me Corhylis (I need to first seal it so that my material body can use it. It has been a long time since I used this... now let us see... God's Eyes)

Divine Sword , Corhylis Type: Sword, Mana Weapon Durability: ?? / ?? Quality: Godly (Partially Sealed)

A sword that has yet to show its true potential. It needs an extreme amount of mana to be used, if a mortal uses it they will be forever void of mana as long as they are contracted to it.

Leo: You had one too!? It feels as powerful as gungnir... did you also...

Nelus: No it is my own personal weapon.

Leo: ...

Nelus: Come.

Leo: I know your always full of surprises but I don't know why but... I am getting used to it...

Leo thrust the spear against him and he parried with his sword, sparks flew everywhere with each strike. Then thousands of needles made of light formed above me and rained down as Leo used the spell, .

Nelus: .

Nelus sword shone as the needles stopped forming and dissipates.

Leo: Kuh... What? why!? I can't use magic.

Nelus: I converted all existing mana in this area into my personal usable mana for a limited amount of time.

Leo: Hahh... You really are... never mind... form change ax!

Leo's ax cleaves down towards Nelus with great force. He blocks it with his sword and was forced down to kneel by its power as a crater was formed beneath.

Nelus: .

Using the absorbed mana, Nelus used as Corhylis was surrounded by dense wind forming a longsword. As he slashed down, it cuts the air as it headed towards Leo. He cleaves to defend against it.

Leo: I can't cut it!?

Nelus: Its not mana...

Leo: I see... "Pure Energy"... like the wind element beings... Form Change

Leo's ax changed into what seems to be a large gun, like a small cannon.

Leo: (I can only use it 3 times before it charges again...)  

He fired the cannon towards Nelus' body, a straight beam of light surged. Nelus repelled it with great difficulty before it was fired again, now towards his head. He barely dodged it.

Nelus: This will be troublesome...

My sword changed into a great sword using , he infused a massive amount of Elemental Energy around it and concentrated to solidify the mana for a short amount of time raising its strength and quality enough for 1 slash..

Nelus: Take my my sword if you can.

I slashed down towards him as he finally fired his gun.

Leo: !!!

The mana bullet and Nelus' sword clashes as he managed to somehow force the bullet down little by little.

Leo: Such strength...

Nelus: Guhh... Force it down Corhylis.

The sword cuts through the bullet and a slash of pure elemental energy headed towards Leo as he was too tired to dodge he was cut in half. Everything went black... it seems my eyes are closed... I opened my eyes and see Leo headed towards me and helped me up.

Leo: I... can trust you with Reila.

Nelus: Yes you can... she is a friend after all.

Leo: If Reila was here to hear that she might have been reaaly happy...

Nelus: ?

Leo: Its nothing... anyway rest for tomorrow you might be tired after all that.

Nelus: ...

Leo: (Hahh... Good luck my little child...)
