Chapter 69 – Guardian Beast Dolis

Hearing Dosil speak, Olpa and the others were shocked as in front of them was a horse like magical beast. It has three eyes with indigo colored mane and violet skin and this time he is more solid like, the last time I saw him, he looked like he was made out of smoke. Rido then notices something.

Rido: Did you just… talk?

Dosil: Hmm? Yes I did… what’s with the shocked faces… ah! You all must be astounded by my brilliance, nneeeeiiigghh!!

As Dosil releases a horse like sound, some of the others shuddered as Rido continues to ask.

Rido: Do you know commander Nelus?

Dosil: Who’s this Nelus that you speak of?

Dosil said as he narrows his eyes.

Rido then pointed at me as Dosil neighed.

Dosil: So you’re called Nelus. I still can’t forgive you for what you did during the time with Crisna… because of you… neeeeeiiiiggghhh!!

Dosil then rushes towards me with his horse like form, as his speed increases his body turned into a smoky like figure. I used Absolute Zero and saw that ice magic is ineffective as the ice only freezes him for a moment as he seeps through it. As he shortens the distance between us, I used Lightning Force to obstruct him. Instead, he passes through me as he was headed towards the others.

I then rushed towards him and issued a lightning clad punch as it hurts him a little but even so he still continues. Olpa uses her mana weapon as it passes through him. It then tries to tackle Kana. As Kana panics and closes her eyes, Cheil walked in between tbem as she gathers her mana on her hand, she then makes sure that the others except for me, will only see her back as she promised not to show the others what she is going to do.

On her hands the mana started to convert, it becomes dark as the darkness flickered revealing a dark flame which was unlike the shadows black flame. As the Dolmace or should I say, Dolis was going to collide with Cheil, Cheil pushes her hand while holding the Dark Flame into Dolis as Dolis screamed loudly as he retreats by taking a step back.

The others then had confused expressions as they were baffled with what just happened. Cheil then withdraws the flame as Dolis thrashes around as the pain still haven’t subsided yet. It was then headed towards my direction as I gathered my divinity and used, Divine Combat Style: Stance 5, Shine Fury as divinity covers my fist in the form of light. I then increased the amount of divinity I supply in it as a giant fist made of light appeared. As Dolis’ senses were clearing, he notices the giant fist and because of his momentum, he was unable to stop.

Fios: Smash him to bits!!

Fios said as he shows a beastlike expression as Olpa also cheers me on.

Olpa: Finish it commander!

Kana frowned and said…

Kana: I kind of feel bad for him.

Dolis: W-wait stop!!

I then punched him as his body gets blown away towards the walls clad with wounds. He then transforms into his humanoid form and said frantically...

Dolis: You were just lucky… guuaahh…

Dosil said as his face pale and lets out a mouthful of blood. I then approach him as his face become even paler.

Dosil: Enough! Alright, I won’t attack anymore…

Dosil said as he sighed in relief as they become even more curious about Dosil while they approach him once Nelus signaled them that it was safe. As they approach him Fios said with sparkling eyes obviously excited…

Fios: What are you?

Dosil: Hah!? I am Dosil a Dolmace who is also a guardian beast here in Alphanze!

Dosil said with arrogance contained in his word as he stands up while wiping off the blood on the corner of his mouth.

Dosil: Oh? Does this mean you acknowledge my brilliance?

Fios: Uhmm…

Dosil: Hahahaah!!! Yes, wonderful.

Dosil said while he glares at me as he shrugs it off as cold sweat appeared on his forehead. In actuality, Dolis was starting to unconsciously fear Nelus but because of his pride he doesn’t notice it. As Nelus come near him…

Dosil: Eeepp!!

Dosil said frantically as Nelus asks…

Nelus: Are there any place of dwelling or of some sort around here?

Dosil: Of course! In the north of Alphanze Valley, there is what you call the village called Claural!

Nelus: Will you bring us there?

Nelus said as Dosil was taken aback at the sudden question, as he was going to reject Nelus he trembled, unable to say something as he helplessly nods instead.

Dosil: Fine, just don’t come back here…

Dosil said in a weary voice as he decides to head towards one of the tunnels inside the room as he prompts us to follow him. The reason why Nelus wanted to find an inn or the sort was because of Fios, he was poisoned before so even with the poison gone, his vitality was spent so he needed some rest.

Upon following Dosil, we noticed around the tunnel was the same scorpions that attacked us as Fios turned pale, we readied ourselves for battle as Dosil then said.

Dosil: Don’t mind those weaklings, they are harmless.

Olpa: Harmless?

Olpa and the others had a face of disbelief, as the scorpion attacks Dosil, the stinger just passes through him as physical attacks had little to none effect on him. He then swats of the scorpions killing them without batting an eye. Everyone was staring at him, wide eyed as…

Dosil: Are you coming or not?

Olpa and the others snapped out from their daze and continue to follow him. After a while we noticed that the air became a little cooler, it seems we have reached the end of the tunnel. As we got out of the tunnel, a massive forest with strange trees can be seen as everyone was astounded by it. The trees looked ancient and the rocky formations around them have been completely covered by moss, everyone then turns towards him.

Olpa: As captain of Fios, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Kana: Ahh… umm! Thank you…

Dosil: Wha!?

Because of their sudden show of appreciation, Dosil couldn’t help but become a little shocked and embarrassed as he blushes a little. It seems he has gotten a little fond of them so suddenly.

Dosil: I-I don’t mind at all so no need to thank me.

As they greet Dosil goodbye, Dosil suddenly remembered something… he was going to follow Nelus and the others but was reluctant to do so…

Nelus: Quite a large village…

Upon arriving near the village using Dosil’s instructions, what they saw was a wall made of those ancient trees towering over them preventing them to see what was inside. As they approach the gates they heard a voice.

???: Who are you people?

Nelus: We are here just to rest for a day, may we enter?

The one peeking from the hole on the gate notices that they are not beings that are usually in the land of darkness, as he was going to refuse they heard another voice.

???: Let them in.

???: Eh? Leader, why?

???: It is alright, I don’t think they will harm us.

???: If the chief says so… guards raise the gates!

Suddenly, as we hear some noises, the gates slowly rise as we finally saw what was on the other side… they were wolf-like beastmen…

Olpa: So this is a village of beastmen?

Olpa said as she was baffled about how there are beastmen living in the land of darkness.

???: How impudent!

One of the guards said as the one in the tribal clothing who seems to be their leader comes forward.

Yaite: Calm down, also I will introduce myself, my name is Yaite and I am the chief of the werewolf clan.

Rido: Were… wolf clan?

Yaite: Yes, to be precise we don’t have any slither of earth element within us, we are pure beings of darkness, also we look like this because of the full moon above us.

As Yaite said that, we all look up an saw the beautiful full moon.

Yaite: Come… you all need to rest right? Come with me, there is an inn that I recommend for your stay.

We then followed him and saw a structure that is likely to be an inn, Yaite then whispers something to the innkeeper and afterwards he faces towards us and said.

Yaite: Please enjoy your stay. You can call me if you have anything else of that you will need.  

As Yaite left, I used Gods eyes as the innkeeper prepared us some food; some of us became uncomfortable with all the werewolves staring at us so we tried to finish quickly.

Olpa, Kana, Fios, and Rido-in-unison: Commander good night!

Olpa and the others said while saluting.

Cheil: Nelus… night…

Nelus: Goodnight.

Suddenly a voice was heard in my head.

Calice: (Be careful Lord Nelus, something was put in the food you ate, stay vigilant.)

Nelus: (Thanks for the warning.)

Calice: (No problem Lord Nelus!)

We then head towards each of our respective rooms. After some time has passed, I seem to hear something…

???: Grraaahh!!

???: Grrrooo!!!

???: Gggrrrrr!!

Outside, there was a lot of growling reverberating throughout the village. As I had a certain hunch that something was happening, I got out of my room. Suddenly, I saw something pounce at me… I then grabbed its mouth and toss it towards the floor as it passes through it and fell into the second floor as we were on the third. I then noticed that it was the innkeeper in his wolf form. I then headed to each of their rooms. First was Rido as his was the closest.

Nelus: Rido wake up.

Seeing that he seems to still be sleeping, I shook him and it seems he was still asleep, I then noticed that he seems to be under a spell… maybe it was the food the innkeeper gave us. I then grabbed him and held him crudely with one arm. Upon exiting his room, I saw Cheil… so it seems she was unaffected as Luminants are immune to spells that affects the mind after all.

Nelus: Grab Kana and Olpa.

Cheil nods as I head to the room next to Rido to carry Fios, as I got out of his room, I saw Cheil, she was carrying Olpa using her wings by wrapping it around her and Kana in a princess carry.

Calice: (Oh! A princess carrying someone in a princess carry.)

Calice said as she giggled.

I then used restore on them… the spell was gone but they were still asleep.

Nelus: (Calice, can you wake them up?)

Calice: (Of course! Leave it to me. I sense that even if the spell is gone it is a Mind Lock spell, meaning it temporarily freezes the state of their mind. The spell has a pre set amount of time for its effect, the more the mana used the longer the effect.)

Cheil and I reached the second floor and saw the doors opening as all the werewolves started pouncing towards us. I then applied Flare Force on my feet and kick the nearest werewolf as it crashes into the others. We then took the chance to go further and managed to get out of the inn.

Nelus: We are surrounded.

I said as I readied my self for battle as one who was extremely fast was headed towards Cheil, as I was ready to intercept it a figure came from above the walls fell in between Cheil and the wolf as it kicks the wolf as it crashes heavily into the wall and the wolf was Yaite as it seems it was quite larger than the others and the one who kicked him was none other than Dolis in his Dolmace form.

Dolis: Revere my brilliance under the moonlight! The great Dolis is here!
