Chapter 22 - Parting Ways

Nelus: (This child is hanging on my arm tight… I can’t shake him off…)

???: Uuuu…

As I contiued to shake off the child, he was gettig dizzy while looking at me teary eyed.

Reila: L-lord Nelus stop!!

Nelus: ?

Reila: You can’t treat a child like that!

Nelus: I see… I’ll just ignore for now…

Reila: Don’t just ignore it!!

Leo: It sees you like its father so you must be gentle with it!

Delia: Love… can you explain what happened in the past few years… I can’t seem to keep up with all that has happened…

Leo: Ah… that is right… everyone will you lend me a some time to explain before we go back?

Nelus: Take your time.

Leo: Alright! This will be quite a long story…

Leo smiled as he was getting excited to update his wife on what has happened so far.

Delia: It is okay… I have all the time in the world…

Leo: Ahaa… well it goes like this…

Leo explained what has happened in the past which includes Reila’s and our encounter. A torrent of emotions can be seen from Delia as it kept changing from one to another… a few hours passed and Leo finishes with what had transpired nearest to the present. As we also listen in Reila adds some parts of it with her point of view.

Leo: And that’s it… what do you think...?

Delia: Our daughter has quite grown into a magnificent lady… to bad I wasn’t there to watch over her…

Delia laughed with satisfaction as she looks at Reila yet was somehow disappointed she didn't see her daughter grow first hand. She looks at Reila as she suddenly hold her hand.

Reila: But right now you can right… mo… ther…

Delia: Reila called me mother!!! Did you hear Leo!! Did you hear?

Delia had a silly smile on her face as she squealed in delight. She was in cloud nine as she hugs Reila with tears gathering at the corner of her eyes. Leo then whispers to Nelus reluctantly...

Leo: Say Nelus… when Reila called me father was my reaction like that?

Nelus: Yes… it was obvious like you were near to crying with joy.

Leo: A-ahem… I-I see…

Leo answered as he turns around in embarrassment yet there was a smile on his face hoping that it will stay like this for a long time.

Nelus: (It seems I have a few notifications that I have ignored so far…)

Nelus: Four personal attributes… Atir… can you explain what is the Dracran Race?

Leo: I’m amazed at how Nelus can easily talk with someone who was an enemy moments ago…

Frei: … Lord Nelus is like that…

Atir: Gladly! Hmm… the Dracran is one of the immortal races in our world. The royalties are extremely powerful because of their twin souls.

Nelus: What is a twin soul?

Atir: It was a concept made from their God, Desot God of Balance and Duality. Twin souls are most likely considered as summons yet it isn’t… when a dracran royalty gets to level 100 they undergo a growth spurt which will make them molt their skin and split their souls leaving a part of it inside the husk as it gives it life. They are called the “twin”… most likely the twin will be of the opposite gender and it is a rare case were it is of the same gender. The twin is mostly treated by the origin as a sibling as almost they both share a piece of their soul. The twin hold the exact copy of the power of the origin… if the origin is powerful it will become as powerful… though the rate may differ as the twin has a handicap as to not have the same growth rate. If not for the handicap and their low fertility rate, they could’ve easily become the strongest species in our world… too bad that the strongest species in our world are tyrants beyond belief…

Nelus: What is the strongest species in your world?

Atir: Yeris… they are of the humanoid bird race… a phoenix race but with earth element instead… once they are killed they can just revive using the earth element around them… and what’s worse is that each time they get destroyed they become stronger for a day which can be stacked… so when you kill them 3 times they become 3 time stronger for that day… some managed to kill them but with certain conditions and special powers…

Nelus: Your world has quite the amount of peculiar races…

Leo: Well enough of that… Nelus why don’t you come with us back to our village?

Delia: Yes! Good idea… Lord Nelus has been quite the savior of ours, we should have a feast…

Nelus: Sorry but I must politely decline…

Reila: Wh-why?

Nelus: (I can feel that I am getting near to finding Lina… my links have gotten stronger… maybe it has to do with my increase in levels… I’ll look into it later…) I still have something to do… south from here…

Reila: Then I’ll come with you…

Nelus: Please stay with your family… now that you’re together, you must spend your time with them…  I think it’s for the better…

Reila: B-but…

Nelus: I’ll come and visit sometimes, especially once my search is over.

I smiled as I looked at Reila reassuring her that I will do so as to what I said.

Reila: Okay… Lord Nelus… just promise you’ll visit… and one day will you let me travel with you again?

Nelus: Yes I will… (I’m sorry Reila… but where I’m heading is… I can’t let you just have me company as I watch over Lina as she grows as it is my duty as her God to watch over her until she turns 25, the coming of age of all beings… I will visit once or twice a week or so… it is better for you to have more time with your family…)

Tiana: We’ll also go now! Atir you scumbag lets go… also Nelus next time we meet again lets have a duel! *grin*

Atir: Don’t call me as such! I am Atir Crei…

Tiana: Shut up and lets go already!

Atir: …

Nelus: Alright… what about you two?

Frei: We will continue to go with you as it is our duty.

Fala: Agreed.

Leo: Then this is goodbye for now.

Leo grinned as he extends his arm towards Nelus.

Nelus: Yes… for now…

In return, Nelus grabs Leo's hand as they shook hands.

Mila: Quick! Reila you’re husband is leaving! Give him a kiss.

She said provokingly as a mischievous smile appeared clearly o her face.

Reila: I-I…

As I look towards each one of them leaving I turn around and head on my way… suddenly, someone grabs my arm as I once again turn around it was Reila… she kissed my cheek as she ran back towards her group.

Delia: Oh my… quite bold…

Leo: As expected of Delia’s daughter…

Delia: She is your daughter too you know…

Reila: (I-I missed… n-n-n-next time I’ll go for the…)

Mila: …

Reila was completely flustered as Reila became dumbfounded, not expecting this development.

Jerald: Mila?

Mila: I never expected for her to really do it…

Jerald: Looks like the tables have turned.

Mila: Quiet you…

She said pouting  at the smirking Jerald.

Fala: Lord Nelus sure is popular.

Nelus: …

Tiana: H-hmph…

Tiana looks back looking slightly agitated at the scene as she turns around and walks away.

Altan: Uuu-uu-uuuu! Uwaah!!!

Nelus: Fala… can you teach me how to take care of a child while on our way?

Fala: Sure thing Lord Nelus.

Nelus: I’ll have to teach him about this world also…

Frei: I can help you with that one…

Nelus: Sure.
