Chapter 86.5 – Genbalt’s Sacrifice

Genbalt’s POV

As usual, at the start of each day, the first thing I do is to see how my children are… and it seems like it was still as peace. All of my children love freedom, almost as much as I do. As Genbalt looked through Rezald’s eyes, he saw him leading the soldiers while assisting them by building the fortress. Genbalt chuckled as the female soldier kept glancing at him unnoticed as well as some… males? After a while Genbalt then was called by Seiry, the phoenix princess…

I then laughed as Seiry became shocked at my words.

Seiry then became embarrassed as she nodded and smiled. Seiry then was called as she once again, bows towards me and closed the connection in the mirror. I then sighed as I am quite free this day… or maybe a month is possible. There doesn’t seem to be any problem to where I govern so… I guess I’ll watch over Rezald for now.

Genbalt: He is fighting… once again it reminds me of those who lost their lives…

Genbalt said with a frown as it was quickly replaced with shock as it seems like Rezald’s gaze went over Nelus…

Genbalt: So Nebulus is there huh…

He then saw Nelus and Rezald fight with astounding teamwork and cheered them on as a voice was heard coming from a lone soldier in the battlefield.

Rezald: Who are you!?

???: Hahahaahah!! If you want to know immortal human…

Riseos: My name is Riseos… The Demon King!! Kneel down at my power!!!

Genbalt: So he is the demon king in the land of darkness where Folia govern… yep… definitely the same laugh…

Genbalt said with a wry smile. He then watched as Riseos pulled out a large scale spell and was surprised at his sudden actions as he fled. Genbalt then sighed in relief as they quickly dealt with it. Afterwards, most of the time Genbalt was watching as he was quite bored as well as worried about Nelus and the others. If he can know about their current status if they are safe or not then he will be at ease.

Genbalt: At least Rezald is doing fine… how about Nebulus?

Genbalt said while pondering as after his fight with Rezald he has gone somewhere as Rezald stayed at the fortress and protected it. Genbalt then felt proud of his champion, Rezald. It was because he saw him help people, protect them, as well as save them though he still feel bad for the soldiers that died a war for someone like Genbalt felt very unpleasant. After a while… while Genbalt started to help them a little bit as he saw that the food supply was dwindling as well as the water supply.

Genbalt: I mean, Rezald is my champion, I guess I can help him sometimes.

Genbalt said as he uses his God’s magic, Field Growth, it was a spell that controls the plants in a certain range to where it was directed and can manipulate the plant’s growth. He targeted Rezald’s area, and despite his distance towards it, a God’s spell can he cast it anywhere the eye or senses can reach. A little bit of lush greenery sprouted as well as trees with fruits as well as other edible plants. He thought of doing this when Rezald told them to look for some supplies. They may be immortals but food provides energy for them. Suddenly… Genbalt felt a hidden presence in the vicinity of the senses of Rezald as he quickly used God’s Magic to push him away startling Rezald as he turns around…

Rezald then noticed an explosion from afar as well as screaming. As he went to the direction, Genbalt was furious as well as Rezald… it was far too cruel. A rain of blood, corpses everywhere, as well as a one sided slaughter… Rezald then saw the remaining soldiers and went there immediately to protect them by using Lasteon to erect a dome of dense earth around them as he started to protect them against Riseos and the others… Genbalt then noticed a floating boy with an artifact and cast a peculiar magic that froze Halvard, Wedea and Melzir in place.

Rezald: No! Guhh!!

Rezald shouted as he continued to defend against the seemingly never ending array of soldiers. He was then pushed back but never gave up. Genbalt bit his lip as he was frustrated that he cannot help Rezald fight as there are some set rules for Gods to not take a life in the world they’re governing. Genbalt had no choice but to watch as Rezald get beaten up, injured and push back. Also, it seems like there is a muscular man in the same state as Rezald near him. As Riseos was going to finish off all of them…

Genbalt: Nooo!!! Rezald!!

Genbalt shouted with worry and anxiety as Rezald… died… Genbalt then tried the best he could to see if he can do anything as he controlled Rezald’s soul to prevent it from going outside the body when suddenly…

Genbalt: Is this… God’s Magic… it maybe a little weak but I know one if I felt it.

A wave washed over Rezald and the others as it heals them all up to a certain point as well as increased their capabilities temporarily; it was a War God’s Magic!

Genbalt: How… are there other Gods besides Nebulus in Alxia?

Genbalt said as he noticed that the source was in fact… Nebulus… it the disabled their status ailments as well as the three that was frozen were set free. Gwnbalt was then surprised because the spell he felt had a tinge of a War God’s…

Genbalt: So they managed to escape… hahh… Nebulus, looks like your foes can be quite troublesome, just looking at this is making me stressful. Looks like Rezald ordered them to go back. Good, at least he can have a good rest… wait… Rezald you’re continuing? Well… I guess this must be your final destination… I hope… is wars like these… this tedious?

Genbalt then saw as they entered the kingdoms of void. As well as them defeating the guards quickly as Genbalt smiled wryly. Genbalt then twitched as they were attacked by someone.

As time passed… Rezald was transported it seems, and was faced with two void flirting with each other.

Genbalt: Hahh… do stressful… how many hours has it been for Rezald… they keep on flirting…

That man I spoke to, he had an overwhelming amount of pride. He will not use the soul sealing stone so I think Nebulus can fight back somehow.

???: It seems master wants to speak with you… hello Genbalt.

Esvil: It seems you have lost the challenge, goodbye.

He said as he snaps his finger as Genbalt then collapsed besides Nelus…

Genbalt: (Well… it was as expected… I knew that a part of it was to kill me… he did say that he will destroy the world and the Gods in Alxia… hahh… the things I do for that unsocial friend of mine… haha… well I guess I can’t call him that now look at the wonderful friends around him. I saw from Rezald from time to time, the fun he was having. It brings joy to me. Even with me not being there for him… I believe that someone can take my place. Why did I do all this for him you ask? Look at me talking to myself… ahaha… well he gave me the freedom I wanted… as well as a true friend to care for.) Neb… ulus… I… lost… the bet…

Nebulus became frantic as his expression loosened… he kept healing me with all his might. He was becoming more desperate. For him to make such a face… am I that important to him? Then I am glad… I smiled as Nebulus bit his lip… tears fell from Nebulus… for the first time… I saw his tears… still even if a part of me is glad that Nebulus thought of me as a very person to him… that look doesn’t suit the usual Nebulus I know. Stop crying, you’re a God King for goodness sake… hahh… this friend of mine… I thought as I smiled wryly.

Genbalt: That… face… doesn’t…suit… you… smile… mo… re…

I said as my body started to fade… these were the words I can squeeze out… what I wanted to say the most was… thank you...

Folia: Genbalt!!!

Genbalt: (Folia, I should say for you to behave yourself but I guess you are just being you… the days with everyone was fun. So don’t cry for me. Instead please… for my sake… at least smile  at my final moments… or I might feel regret in my heart. Nebulus, you’re no better… my soul… it feels hollow…)

As my soul disappears it was then wrapped up in a warm crimson light… I closed my eyes and felt the warmth invade me…

???: Open your eyes…

Genbalt did as the voice told him… as a red figure stands in front of him inside an empty space. She was extremely beautiful silky red hair and golden eyes… wearing a white dress with crimson designs and linings… I was attracted to her… Genbalt thought as he blushed. He then noticed the small crown symbol on her skirt… a God King?

???: I managed to save your soul in the last minute…

She said with a weary face as well as a gentle smile… I then felt the immense energy around me… so she used an absurd amount of energy to save me… why?

Genbalt: Why did you save me?

???: Someone told me to save you.

Genbalt: Who?

???: I am sorry but I can’t tell you… now follow me and I’ll cast my ultimate blessing on you.

Genbalt: Before I do, how should I know that I could trust you? Also who are you?
