Chapter 66 – Acting Dark Soldier

After the said meeting Halvard, Cellux, Andros, Melzir and Wedea stood up and went their ways. But before they part ways Melzir approached Cellux and tried to ask about some things about his race’s past and what did he think in the end Cellux only gave him a vague answer but he was still overjoyed. Wedea went back to their city as she waved goodbye when she noticed me. Andros headed back to Lux academy as surely it will become quite busy these coming days. Halvard headed towards me and waited for Cellux. As we finish Cellux said.

Cellux: Halvard why don’t you come with us and eat dinner?

Halvard was surprised at Cellux sudden invitation as he nodded with a dignified smile.

Cellux: Of course you should come with your children too.

Halvard: I will graciously accept your invitation.

Cellux: Is it alright Lord Nelus?

Nelus: Its fine.

I then headed with them, as for why Halvard was suddenly invited by Cellux it was because took this chance as Ciall invited him and I for dinner so why not invite a friend. As we flew back to Uire we then landed under the guidance of the moonlight as it seems it was nighttime. The servants from the palace waited for us in front of the gate. It seems Ciall was too excited so he wanted to know if Cellux has come or not. Noticing this Cellux sighed as he revealed a wry smile.

???: Lord Cellux, good evening to you.

The head servant said with a smile as she knelt in front of Cellux.

Cellux: Good evening.

Halvard then used his mind magic and alerted his eldest son Chyde to get the other two with him as they are invited to dinner by Cellux. As we waited for their appearance three figures can be seen getting closer and tbis three figures had the scaly silver wings of a luminant, it was the three children of Halvard. As Chyde bowed in front of Cellux he did so in front of his father and me. Roy then walked towards me and gave a friendly smile as said hello and went to his father and grabbed his hand. As for Cheil, she walked behind me while staring as we headed towards the palace.

Ciall: Hello Lord Halvard.

Ciall said with a smile as Halvard returned a friendly gesture and nodded. It can be said that they were enemies before but recently they have been getting along pretty well and once Ciall knew that when Halvard was little he was an acquaintance of Cellux he asked Halvard nonstop about what he was like before. Of course Halvard answered all of them without even a hint of annoyance as he quite like talking about the passed… well except for Cellux as some stories were kind of embarrassing to him.

As we reach the dining room, Yeuhl and Quiesa were already seated as they all went to their respective seats. Lina then greets Roy as it seems they have been getting along quite well as they decided to eat to their hearts content. Recently  also noticed that Cheil’s action  haven’t been aggressive like before as at present she was content to be just at my side. Even when she was invited to lead a division she flatly denied and joined mine. Altan didn’t come as it seems tonight was one of the nights where Terul treated him at his favorite shop near here.

Lina: Did you bring Jen?

Roy: Ahh… no…

Roy said while blushing as his expression became disappointed as did Lina. It seems Jen was the childhood friend of Roy as well as someone who is liked by Roy. Lina was overjoyed to see another girl her age and they quickly became friends. Zala and Cheil seem to be glaring at each other as Ciall, Halvard and Cellux happily chatted. Yeuhl and Queisa were having their usual talk as Ciall then asked me.

Ciall: Oh? You didn’t bring your companions?

Nelus: They were busy.

Cellux: Too bad… I’m quite fond of that Rezald as he fought with you; I hope I will gain the honor to do so too in the future.

Nelus: Rezald said he is with Andros as it seems he was tasked to help the positioned army of light to build a hidden fortress near the border.

Ciall: Hahhaha!! Father really looks up to Nelus! Also Nelus, Runice and Lodana will be waiting for you at the palace garden.

Nelus: Why?

Ciall: You’ll see huhuhu…

Ciall said while trying to cover his laugh. I then tilted my head and asked.

Nelus: Who is this Lodana?

Ciall: I forgot to tell you their name… Lodana is the name of one of the seamstress that made your school attire from before.

Nelus: I see… then I will surely come tomorrow.

After dinner as they were going to depart I head back to my mansion and saw Altan and Tania sleeping on Terul’s lap as Terul sat on the carpet while fiddling with Tania’s hair and patting Altan’s head while giggling. As I walked towards the stair she then noticed me as she bowed bashfully as I head back to my room. As a day has passed I headed towards the palace garden and saw Lodana and Runice while holding a large case.

Runice: Nelus! Long time no see!!

Runice said while giving a wide smile as she waved. As for Lodana she looks at me excitedly as her grip on the case becomes tighter.

Nelus: What did you call me for?

Runice: It’s because of this, Lodana show it to him.

Lodana: My pleasure!!

As they open the case it revealed an armor that seems to be made from platinum metalia.

Nelus: A metalia armor.

Runice: It’s for you! The reason I was busy lately was because I was making armor for everybody and since your were busy lately I asked Lodana for help as she knew what size it fits you as father said they made you some school attire.

Nelus: I don’t need it.

Runice pouted as it quickly returns to her usual smile and said.

Runice: Just take it, it is my gift towards you for the things you have done for us all.

Nelus: Alright…

Nelus said as Lodana urged him to wear it so he went to a room to try it on. When he came back the two girls clapped as it fitted him perfectly as he looks like a dignified knight.

Runice: I gave it to you today as my father said because right now there are many people from the army of light there and as the division commander you need to look like one.

Nelus: Then I will give you my thanks.

Runice: No problem!

Lodana: If you ever need a new outfit just call me okay, Lord Nelus!

I then head to Lux Academy as the guards saluted me as usual as I used my crystal to open the gate. The first thing I saw were a few soldiers training. It seems the training grounds and arenas were full. I then headed to the training grounds and saw Raldine.

Raldine: Nelus…

Raldine said while pale, it seems she was lacking a bit in sleep.

Nelus: Are you okay?

Raldine: I’ll… be fine. I need to train every one.

Nelus: Just rest as it is always needed.

Raldine: Thanks Nelus.

Raldine said with a slight smile as she continued training them.

I then decided to go to the arena. As I entered everyone looks at me with respect as it seems Runice embedded a badge on my armor… it was Ciall’s instruction. It was the commander’s badge.

Welg: Sir Nelus.

Nelus: Welg.

Welg then approached me as the ones on the arena stopped battling as they went behind Welg.

Welg: Sir Nelus, I have been teaching them and it seems to be going well.

???: Sir Nelus!

Said a man with large muscles… it was a Salph as well as the vice captain, the second in command after Welg within their team. They were very thankful to me as I read their aptitudes some time from before.

Meril: Sir Nelus.

Another of my students approached me with soldiers behind her, it was Meril.

Meril: Good to see you sir.

Nelus: How are you recently?

Meril: Its fun to teach them I always wanted to be a teacher.

Suddenly someone burst through the door… it was Andros.

Andros: Nelus something happened…

Andros said anxiously as he seemed obviously worried about something.

Nelus: Andros calm down.

Andros: The fortress, its being attacked!!

Nelus: Rezald can handle it.

Andros: No… I felt something was wrong… I just get this feeling…

I then decided to trust Andros’ intuition and flew there immediately. As I look around I heard explosions and sounds of screams towards a certain direction. I then descended as I saw Rezald fighting a group of beings of darkness. I then felt something was coming towards me as it seems to be a A class spell, Nox Burst as the dark sphere explodes as I gripped it with my fist leaving the caster dumbfounded.

As some of the mana made contact with my armor, a pair of wings appeared on my back and a rain of feathers scatter everywhere as everyone’s gaze went towards me while some of the soldiers decided to attack me. Everything around us was in chaos as each and everyone slaughtered everybody. Two soldiers leapt up from behind me, trying to subdue me. As I sense their presence I gripped their arm and smashed them towards each other.

Rezald then noticed me as he grinned and focused on the ones in front of him. He summoned his spear, Lasteon as he swirled his spear above him as his green eye glowed as he manipulated the wind, creating a large tornado lifting those around him into the air as he taps the blunt back of his spear into the ground creating a large flat pillar heading towards the flying group of soldiers into the air obliterating them.

Suddenly a group of beings of darkness wearing robes appeared and used magic in unison against me. As I sense the magic heading towards me I used lightning force as clouds gather on my hand forming a glove like shape as lightning static forth. Nelus then punches the spells heading towards him blowing away all of it as the casters revealed an expression of shock. As they started to cast another set of spells I used the spell Gaia Prison as the earth swallows them whole but they were still alive but Nelus then used it to smash them while they are underground.

Still… even at our advantage something felt off. So I decided to be cautious as I went around the area while elimination one soldier after another. As Rezald and I keep defeating soldiers our soldiers were at an all time high.

Rezald: There still more!

???: Captain Rezald, what should we do?

One of the soldiers said with worry as their numbers clearly overtook ours. There are at least 15,000 left on our side as theirs were 4,000 added the 30,000 that arrived.

Rezald: All of you go! Me and Nelus can handle this.

???: But captain.

Nelus: One should know when to follow.

Nelus said suddenly as the soldier became worried for Rezald as Rezald grinned. It was because Nelus signaled to use large scale magic to at least dwindle their numbers.

Nelus: Lets go.

Rezald: Of course!

Nelus and Rezald ran towards the army of soldiers quickly as Rezald transforms his spear into a staff as he started casting a large scale wind magic. As the army saw this they went faster as they were a few meters apart from us. I then cast Absolute Zero forming a large wall of ice in front of them forcing them to stop while freezing hundreds of them. As Rezald finishes his spell a hurricane came as well as a tornado strengthening each other as the soldiers kept being sucked in one by one.

I then used Pyro Flariga throwing it into the tornado as it explodes inside it scattering the ashes of the soldiers within it as a massive explosion resounded. As the soldiers finally felt fear when there are at least 10,000 of them left as most were annihilated they decided to retreat. Rezald then turned his staff into a greatsword and slashed at the ice wall shattering it to pieces including the soldiers inside it. I then cast Gale Drive as a strong backwind appeared propelling the countless shards of ice towards the soldiers as it rained upon them sharply reducing their numbers. It was a perfect display of teamwork as the soldiers from their side were in a daze in awe at their power.

Rezald: We did it!

Nelus: There are still a few of them left.

???: Run away!!!

???: Monsters!!

 All of them were afraid, I mean who wouldn’t be if their army were suddenly slaughtered in front of them with just two people, it felt so unreal to them as they never thought they would see that extent of power besides the 3 leaders of the beings of darkness side. Using the water residue left by the hurricane Nelus used the spell Aqua Oblivion. An X rank water spell as water rained upon them with power like meteors and speed like comets as it crashes upon them heavily making it hard to see what was happening within its vicinity. As it stops raining they were dumbfounded as there was a soldier grinning surrounded by corpses of dead soldiers as the soldier on our side were praising his luck for surviving.

Suddenly, Rezald and I twitched as we immediately erected a wall of dense earth and a wall of Ice respectively around the soldiers on our side as a dark sphere descended from the sky as it crashes at the wall and barely scratches it. Still, we heard some screams as when the huge ball with the size of a small mountain exploded, its dark leftovers went above the wall and rain upon the soldiers killing many of them as Rezald grips his weapon and points it at the one soldier left as they noticed that his hand was pointing upwards as the string of darkness connected to his palm reached above the clouds it was surely him who cast that devastating dark spell. Even if its power was a little weak its area of effect was huge. Rezald became furious and said…

Rezald: Who are you!?

???: Hahahaahah!! If you want to know immortal human…

The soldier grinned and removed his armor revealing a suit fit for a noble among nobles and a handsome face with a pair of sharp eyes and a pair of astral horns that appear and disappear at his will. His deep crimson eyes filled of heavy killing intent swept among us. Even the soldier behind the wall were forced to kneel because of his pressure except for me and Rezald who was unaffected as Rezald relied on his yellow eye to concentrate dispelling the pressure around him.

Riseos: My name is Riseos… The Demon King!! Kneel down at my power!!!

The once before soldier’s rank spike from B to X as it seems that he was hiding his power. Rezald and I were speechless but not because of his power or appearance but because… why did he have to bother dress up as a soldier? Was it just for his entrance? We thought as the demon king laughed with a deep voice that echoed throughout the field.
