Chapter 72 - Charm
???: W-w-what is that!?
???: Is that some kind of magic!?
The soldiers muttered while stairing at the once gigantic sphere floating above Nelus’ palm. Nelus then tries to sense the mana capacity of the ones within range while Calice will check their mental capacities to see if they are either soldiers or civilians. The vampire race is a very powerful race who are resistant to both pain and mental abnormalities as they are in a way a kind of undead race except more stable.
Their pain is at least reduced to 35% of the original, even a broken leg or two is nothing to them that is why Nelus decided to use a God class spell that is the least conspicuous as the other spells of Nelus like, Supreme Nova or Frozen Star, which are main tools that Gods of creation uses to meld the world itself might get past his spatial barrier and will be detected by the other Gods, or worse which is destroying the world itself. Even if it is the weakest God class spell Nelus has the fact that he used it means that he sees how formidable the pain resistance the opponent has as well as how Nelus values a promise especially if it is a promise with his total consent. Once the configuration is done, now only the soldiers will be affected by his attack as he excluded the structures.
Nelus: Give me back my student.
???: W-we don’t know… where…
Nelus sighed as he releases the meteor on his palm as he lobs it over the city with a slight movement of his arm. As the meteor reaches the ground… an explosion that can shake the heavens occurred. A large blaze swept over the city inside the barrier he set up. As the explosion dies down, he looks over the state of all the soldiers… all of them were unconscious showing the whites of their eyes while foam was visible on their mouths.
Nelus: Maybe I shouldn’t have added another 5% of my power hmm…
Cellux became wide eyed as he ponders a bit, he remembers that his and Nelus’ rank were almost the same but their power was too much apart! Cellux then mutters…
Cellux: So this is a God… Lord Nelus are the other Gods like Murix as strong as you?
Nelus: No…
Cellux: (I see… if memory serves me right, he is what you call a God King so could he be the strongest of all the Gods?)
Cellux thought as he looks at Nelus with admiration while not knowing the countless of other Gods that exist.
Calice: (Ahahaah… even when I saw such absurd things everytime you go back to your pantheon, I never did witness a God’s power… kyaa! So powerful.)
Calice said with a bright red face as she squealed in excitement, as she always stayed in the forest where Nelus met her she didn’t have a chance to travel, roam around, and see many different things. It was all because of Nelus. The most peculiar thing was that even inside his pantheon, his link with Calice was still solidly connected to the point where, when he first returned to the pantheon Calice saw what he sees so she found about the pantheon as well as its existence so he had no choice but to reveal it. Calice then promised to never disclose this information. I guess as the first God ever to link with a spirit ruler, there are some things yet to be discovered about it.
Nelus: I guess I’ll need to wake them up…
Nelus said as he approached the large crater that destroyed half of the city, and only the structures were unaffected. Afterwards, as he was a few feet apart from the soldier, he uses Restore as the soldier wakes up almost immediately.
???: M-m-m-m-monster…
Nelus: Where is my student, tell me or I’ll have to use my magic again.
The soldier’s face paled as he just experience hell just moments ago, even if the pain was reduced considerably he still felt like he was dying at east ten times as he wished to be dead during that time. Cellux just remained silent as the soldier looks at Cellux with pleading eyes as Cellux shook his head as he if he was saying that there is nothing he can do as the soldier’s shoulders droop down in resignation.
Nelus: Will you tell me now?
Nelus said as he looks at the soldier with an extremely cold expression as the man trembled, he then gives in and says.
???: They are in Nox Academy, in the arena building.
Nelus: I see… it’s not wise to lie to me.
Nelus said with a serene expression as he then looks at the man and said…
Nelus: Only some of them are in there, as for my student, I can’t feel his aura in there, it seems someone is concealing or hiding him.
???: This can’t be… all of the ones we captured are put in there and the one who manages it all is Kawt.
Nelus: Kawt? Nox Academy’s main instructor?
???: Yes… that’s the one.
Nelus: Let’s go Cellux and head for the arena first.
Cellux: As you with Lord Nelus.
On Rido’s side…
Rido: Where are we headed?
Falmi: To the south of the city, as it is the easiest to escape from here right now.
Rido: Isn’t it the other way around?
Rido said with a slight frown on his face as he was doubtful if what she was saying the truth.
Falmi: The guards are too busy tending to the other prisoners so I am sure that nobody or at least a few are guarding there.
Rido: I see… then let us go faster.
Maque: Stop right there!!
Falmi was then astonished to see that someone was blocking their path… it was Maque and it seems that someone was observing them from above… it was Dotis and the rest while being concealed by void magic.
Dotis: This will be interesting…
Fion: Are you sure of just watching this? Wouldn’t it be better if we apprehend him right now?
Said the Taekan girl with a hint of worry as she looked at Falmi, secretly hoping that the situation will not escalate too much, by that time Nelus already used his large scale spell but the others outside the barrier can never notice it. In Nelus’ eyes the city is in a pretty bad shape, as for Dotis and the others they only see what seemed normal to them as what they saw was still the peaceful city they knew.

Dema: Huhuhu, seeing Maque like this feels so nostalgic.
Dema said while looking at the furious Maque.
Maque: Why are you helping this being of divinity trash!
Maque said as he raises his eyebrows as if he was offended.
Falmi: I’m sorry for this Maque but…
Falmi then uses one of her skills as her eyes turned pink as she looks at Maque trying to charm him to do what he says as… Maque grinned.
Maque, I hoped you would use it!
Maque then uses a certain artifact that reflects a skill that uses the eyes as it charms Falmi as she staggers.
Maque: (Hehehe, now she is charmed by me, and then it looks like I will have a wonderful time tonight.)
Said Maque as he lips his lips as Fion frowned as she was Falmi’s best friend, as she was going to help her, Dema restrains her.
Fion: Let me go you gorilla!!
Dotis: Just let Maque do what he wants.
Dotis said with a grin as Fion shudders as her heart started beating faster, anxious for her friend. Falmi then staggers as her face became flushed with a tint of pink. Rido then helps her up as their gazes met.
Rido: Are you ok… hmph!?
Falmi then closes in immediately as she kissed Rido passionately on the lips as Maque was dumbfounded as well as the others overlooking them as Dotis cracks a grin as if amused.
Maque: You!!! I’ll kill you!!
Rido then pushed Falmi back gently as he looks at Falmi like he was unaffected as the charm wears off of Falmi as Maque didn’t consider that as a succubus who governs over the illusions, desires and dreams that her charm is quite weak against her. Falmi then blushed as she then noticed that her fist kiss was taken as he looks at Rido to see his reaction; Rido had a calm expression despite her action. Somehow this made her calm down as well as with a tinge of disappointment as she doesn’t know why it is so. She didn’t notice that despite Rido’s poker face, there was a faint blush on his face that is not easily spotted.
As Maque rushed towards them with his ax like mana weapon, Rido summons his which was an arm guard type of mana weapon, which are very rare considering it was a defensive type. Maque then imbues his ax with a dark spell called Nox Aura as it strengthens it considerably. Rido was unfazed as he blocks the ax head on and slanted it as he lets the ax slide through the arm guard as sparks were emitted until it passes through Rido’s side as Maque was shocked at what just happened as most people he faced were normally defeated with just this one attack. Rido then configures it into an bladed guard as he smashed it towards Maque’s chest.
As Maque was completely confident of his defense he just casually blocks it using his ax. Maque grins as he then saw that the attack was ineffective as he then started hearing a dripping sound… it was coming from his hands… it was water… Rido was secretly imbuing some water element into Maque by converting the mana just as it enters Maque so that when Maque converts it to darkness there will still be some water converted mana within him as Rido used a spell… it was Lightning Blast which was now concentrated at the edge of the blade on the arm guard tip as he then quickly shakes off the ax and pierces Maque’s thick skin. Maque then convulses wildly as static was completely visible as it surges out from within his body. Because of the water content inside him, the lightning spell Rido used became 4 times more powerful than usual.
Maque: Ggguuuaaahhh!!!
Falmi: Amazing… to beat Maque so easily… he…
Dotis: Interesting… hahahaha!! Such a rare aptitude! Water and lightning!!
Fion inwardly sighed in relief as she looks towards Dema as he was seething with anger.
Dema: How dare you do that to Maque!!
Dema shouted as he goes out of Dotis’ spell range as he pointed towards Rido.
Rido: Where did you come from?
Dotis: Dema that idiot… now the spell I used to conceal what was happening here is now broken…
Dotis said with a frown as the void barrier around them was destroyed, luckily, the existence concealing spell around Fion and himself were still active.
Dema: Prepare yourself!!
Rido then calmly readies himself as Dema rushed towards him until… suddenly, something unexpected happened… Dema was then sucked into the ground as if it took a bite out of him as Rido stops and looks around to see if there are others around him.
Nelus: Rido, I finally found you.
Cellux: Oh? Is this one of your students Lord Nelus?
Cellux said with a slight envy towards the child as he shrugs it off and said.
Cellux: How did you know he was here?
Nelus: His aura suddenly appeared so I managed to find him.
Nelus said as Dotis frowned at how fast Rido was found. Nelus then looks his way as if looking directly at him as Nelus returns his gaze towards Rido as cold sweat formed around Dotis forehead as he thought that maybe Nelus can see him as he then thought that maybe it was just his imagination.
Nelus: Ah… you…
Nelus then sees Falmi as Rido then says.
Rido: It’s okay she was the one who helped me.
Nelus: I see… then I thank you.
Falmi: A-ah! It was nothing… I just did what I think was right.
Nelus then smiled gently at her as suddenly two people entered the scene which made mostly everyone’s jaws drop in astonishment… these two people then came near Nelus as they stayed still and remain silent and what made them shocked was because they knew who these people are… one was a beautiful woman who looks like she was in her 20’s with a curvaceous body and pale white skin… it was the vampire queen who was slightly teary eyed and besides her was Kawt… with his eyes completely red, not because of anger but because it seems he had cried before they got here… Cellux then smiles wryly with a weary expression as he sighs.
Cellux: To make him cry in anguish like that… Lord Nelus just what did you make him see?
