Chapter 59 – Familiar

After taking the four with us I cast to wake them up as their physical injuries are gone, I decided to ask them to introduce themselves as they stared at me dumbfounded, not knowing why they are inside the classroom. One of the soldiers who didn’t have the chance to fight, the second in command explains what had happened including about Melgard as they suddenly had a grim look. They thought they had offended Nelus by beating up his student, so they thought he would be mad at them but they were wrong… on the contrary Nelus treated them as if they were his own students to the point that it felt quite ominous… as well as the students treated them as if they were already a part of their class. They didn’t know how to react so for starters they tried to introduce themselves.

First ones that decided to do so was their captain as well as the vice captain, Olpa then went to the front… she was a tall pretty woman with quite a stern face; she has platinum hair with blue eyes and floating gems swirling around her. An elemental is a race born with elements inside their bodies depending on their parents. A light elemental partnering with an earth elemental will either get an offspring with light as their primary element and earth as a sub element or vice versa in other words it can either be a light elemental with earth aptitude or an earth elemental with a light aptitude.

Olpa: Greetings my name is Olpa Dase a Light Elemental.

Olpa tried her best in hiding her embarrassment as all of the students were staring intently at her, while hiding her embarrassment, she puts on a tough front as the gems around her glowed responding to her emotions.

Meril: So pretty…

Olpa: Rido its your turn!!

Olpa shouted at Rido as he then sighed.

Rido: My name is Rido Cawell a luminant.

He said as he looks at princess Cheil with a pale face. All luminants knew of princess Cheil’s prodigious talent in magic and combat so he rejoiced inwardly that he didn’t have to face her. Next one is the one who fought Welg, a hot blooded looking youth with yellow hair he looks at Welg fiercely and declares…

Fios: Welg you are henceforth my rival! My name is Fios Casta and I believe that I will try hard in this class and surpass you!

Fios said as looks at Welg with great determination as Welg grinned before saying…

Welg: Try it if you can.

Fios: Heh.

Terul: Says the ones who took the longest.

Hearing Terul’s blunt words they suddenly felt embarrassed as they become flustered as Fios moved to a vacant seat. Next was the girl who fought Meril. She was a girl from the colad race a race full of pride like Jull. Her first words shocked everyone to the core except for the 3 soldiers…

Kana: My name is Kana Gitil from the Colad race uhm… Lord Meril please take care of me I have witnessed your power first hand and I am still far from attaining a feat such as yours! I look forward to learning and growing with you.

Meril: Ah! Me too…

Meril said shyly as she was used to being ridiculed so Kana’s sparkling eyes full of admiration was a first for her.

Welg: A colad race being humble it’s the end of the world!!

Welg said as cold sweat continuously poured out from his face. Even Cheil revealed a shocked expression for just a moment… was a humble colad race that unbelievable?

Olpa: You do not worry about the world ending as she lost her memories from her childhood and lived with us elementals so its no wonder she is so humble!

Welg: (Says the prideful elemental in front of me… wait… she didn’t deny about the world ending if a humble colad appeared!?)

Nelus: Now that the introduction is over the rest of you will continue the activities before all this as for you four come with me towards the arena its time for your lecture.

While Nelus was saying this everyone looked at the four with deep sympathy as well as pity, Olpa felt a chill on her spine so she decided to ask…

Olpa: What will our lecture be?

Nelus: I will use E and D class spells against you and you must withstand it for 30 minutes.

Everyone gasped as they look at them with even more pity than before as Yima suddenly asked.

Yima: Uhm… sir Nelus isn’t 30 minutes a bit too much? I think it would be better if they receive the same treatment as us and give only 10 minutes.

Olpa then became wide eyed and shocked as she scowled at her suggestion thinking “Its only E and D class spells for me who is an S class as well as my comrades who are rank A can handle such a simple task! Don’t look down on us just because you beat us.”

Olpa: No need to worry we can handle 30 minutes just fine!

Olpa said as the other 3 nodded. Yima then had a worried look but it seems they wouldn’t change their minds so she didn’t have a choice but to respect their decision. They wouldn’t believe me anyways.

Yima: If you say so… good luck.

Olpa: thank you.

Olpa said as she bowed and smiled confidently.

As they head towards the arena, seeing Nelus everyone had worried expression as they thought… “Sir Nelus please don’t be too hard on them…” Nelus’ lecture inside the arena is quite famous among the students as well as the teachers. Thinking about it makes them instantly pale. Of course the 4 wouldn’t know it as they were mostly outside the academy training with the army of light. The five of them enters the arena as Olpa said…

Olpa: Were ready Sir Nelus!

Fios: Lets start already! I want to know what the fuss is all about!

Rido: Let’s do this.

Kana: I-I’ll try my best and hold out…

After five minutes… the atmosphere went dark… continuous groans of pain can be heard reverberating throughout the arena as well as screams of fear. Around the arena were people who were watching. They all had pale faces not getting use to what they are seeing after Nelus has done this many times with his students. The teachers then thought… “As I thought… X ranks really are monsters…”. Explosions rang out through the arena as well as signs of struggle… what lies after these five minutes that seemed like forever was… Kana passed out on the floor outside the arena, lasted 1 minute. Rido smashed into the wall, lasted 3 minutes. Rios, still inside the arena, trembling fiercely while his consciousness started to fade as he screams to wake himself up and Olpa who is still inside the arena with a face of disbelief as well as fear, saying to herself “Are these really just E and D class spells!?”

5 minutes ago…

Nelus cast a simple as Rido tries to block it to see why everyone reacted so fiercely at the fire ball which was only a little bit larger than usual. Rido crosses his arms as the fireball made contact with him it suddenly explodes…

Nelus: Very good now 2 this time…

Nelus releases two balls of fire instantly as Rido paled… one fireball was enough to have him injured with a 3rd degree burn. As Olpa was going to block next Rido reflexively shouted…

Rido: Don’t block it! Dodge! Even if it is a E rank spell it has the power of a B rank spell!

Olpa: I can handle 1 of them as for Kana dodge.

Kana: Yes captain!

Kana then avoided the somewhat slow fireball but somehow noticed that it was very slightly, faster than the first one. Olpa then blocks it as she felt an intense impact on her guarding arms thinking “Interesting!”. She clearly felt its power, she then though what would happen if he uses S rank spells or X rank ones? She immediately dismissed the idea as this time 3 were headed their way. After tasting its power they dodge again as well as the fireball’s speed and numbers are increasing at an interval of 2 seconds.

Once it reaches 1 minute, 30 fireballs were heading their way while they pant heavily from dodging again and again… they finally understood why the other reacted like they did… doing this for 30 minutes? Impossible! What was frightening with low class magic was only their usage speed but because of their lack of power most magic users didn’t use them much as for strengthening a low class magic it takes a considerable amount of mana, more than the higher classes. Let us say that Nelus’ equals a B class in power but the mana usage is completely different, to create such fireball you would need at least 3 times the amount of mana being used in B class spells which is not worth it. Seeing that Nelus wasn’t even a bit tired they made a tense expression.

As the 30 fireballs were near them all of them tried to dodge but because Kana’s reaction was a bit slower 1 fireball hit her as well as triggering a chain explosion as she flies outside the arena unconscious.

Olpa: Kana!! Tch!

Nelus then releases 31 flurry of fireballs after another 2 seconds had passed as they frantically dodge it… after 2 minute which is 3 minutes all in all. Nelus shot 90 fireballs with no signs of exhaustion or stopping. The three was drenched in sweat as they became slightly sluggish until… Rido’s leg gave out while dodging as the fireballs hit him head on; blowing him away towards the wall… another two minutes have passed as Nelus releases 150 firealls… The two then dodges it with all they got as Olpa said…

Olpa: How much time has passed?

Nelus: 5 minutes, 25 to go…

Olpa: Hii! Enough please! Even Fios is near fainting… anything!

Nelus: Alright then I will just skip to the 30th minute.

Olpa: Phew… okay… wait… what!?

Nelus then releases 900 fireballs which slightly depletes Nelus’ mana 150 of it equals an S rank class spell altogether then a 900 hundred equals 6 S rank spells coming at the two with great speed. A large explosion was heard as the two left were blown away. I then used Aqua Rejuvenation to heal them. Once they are fully healed they woke up…

Olpa: No wonder they are all so strong… they have to deal with something like this.

Nelus: That’s right so starting now, once every two weeks you and the others will be lectured.

As they heard this their face went pale.

As classes were over Terul approached me.

Terul: Can I come with you? As I am now bound to that child I will need to be at his side as long as he lives as it is now my duty to watch over him as well as protect him.

Nelus: Come with me.

Terul then spread her draconic wings as she flew with me towards Uire. Upon arriving, I guided her towards the mansion and called Altan.

Altan: Papa! You’re home!

Terul blushed for an instant as she too thought that Altan was cute. Tania then approaches her.

Tania: I somehow feel a connection with master to you… I saw a book regarding dragons as I am curious about the other dragons here… if I’m not mistaken you are a holy dragon then this must be dragon bound…

Terul: Quite a remarkable observation.

Terul said with a smile as her face loosened to a slight frown.

Tania: I see that you didn’t want to become one. I take it either you wanted to be bound to a specific royal or become a male.

Terul: Both…

Tania: I see, but do not worry as master will be a great connection for you.

Terul: Also, may I ask who are you?

Tania: Father, can I tell her?

Nelus: Go ahead as she will be with Altan and you anyways.

Tania: I am Tania, brother Altan’s twin soul.

Terul: Twin… soul?

Tania then explained the circumstance Altan being an otherworldly being as well as their race the dracran, the second strongest race in their world, Altan being the heir to the Dracran Empire, so on and so forth.

Terul: I see… hahh well thank you for telling me as for him you mustn’t let him meet with other holy dragons that are not yet bound or has reached their adult stage where they become immune to being bound to a royal by force, instead they can choose themselves who to be bounded to.

Tania: I know.

Terul: I see…

Tania: Will you help me with something?

Terul: Sure…

Tania and Terul held hands with Altan in the middle, it seems in the dracran race it is what they call awakening. A ritual done with at least three dragons present once a dracran reaches level 100. Tania already explained all of this to Terul. Altan stood quietly in the middle as it goes on. Suddenly, Altan’s gem lit up as a draconic sign appeared on his forehead. Tania then calls Rezald over as he approaches them.

Rezald: What did you call me for?

Tania then grabs Rezalds hand and placed it on Altan’s head… suddenly what appeared in front of him was…
