Chapter 43: Infinite Lives

Chapter 43: Infinite Lives

Zero looked around and saw a mass of abominations almost fused together.

It was hard to tell where one incarnation ended and another began.

One of them began to laugh...

"Allow me to introduce myself! I am Paradox!"

Zero's eyes almost popped out of his sockets.

"There's an incarnation for Paradox?!"

Another incarnation chuckled and said.

"There is an incarnation for every law."

Zero was surprised such beings were willing to talk to him.

It was as if a human was making conversation with an ant.

He expected them to just try to squash him.

If they were polite.

Paradox looked around.

"I see... guys. We are in a dream!"

"A dream?! Impossible... just what kind of entities mind could render all of us in their subconscious? It would have to be something ancient."

Zero was a little confused.

"Is it really that amazing?"

At this point even Judgement's tone had changed.

"It is indeed. To be able to visualize us without going insane. It would require someone with the processing power of an original incarnation itself."

"I see."

Zero realized that it may be because echo had fused with his soul.

His visualization technique was also running.

An idea then hit him.

"Didn't gaia say, that he would reward me with the eyes of an original incarnation."

Zero then teleported to one of the eyes.

He didn't realize it at first since it was so far away.

But the eyes were the size of a planet.

"How the hell am I suppose to use these eyes?"

"What are you trying to accomplish mortal?"

"I wish to have the eyes of an original incarnation."

All of the incarnations began to laugh.

"That is impossible. A mortal could never handle having our eyes!"

"Just like a mortal could never stare at you directly without going insane?"

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

"..."

Paradox then chuckled and said:

"Allow me to introduce you to my friend. Time!"

An entity made of white text and covered in fog was right next to Paradox.

It didn't say anything.

"Wait... It couldn't be!"

"My pocket watch!"

Zero held out his hand and pointed at 'Time'.

It then turned into a mist and flew over to his hand.

Forming the familiar pocket watch.

"So this is where you were hiding."

Rules looked at the watch in his hand.

"That isn't allowed!"

"Oh yea? What are you going to do about it? Erase me? Oh no... whatever shall I do."

"..."

Judgement began to talk.

"Don't think you can escape me."

Instead of using Erase.

Judgement personally held out his hands and crushed Zero.

"Good luck crossing my infinity!"

"Infinity, help me capture this fool!"

"Alright."

"Oh shit."

My infinity shield was popped like a bubble.

I was then squished to death like an insect.

I woke up in a mental hospital again.

"Alright. Round two."

I did an 'S' gesture.

Entered the abyss.

Recited my global existence with timeline as blank.

Then entered the place that shouldn't be named.

Paradox looked at me and winked.

Judgement looked at me and scoffed.

"You are an insignificant insect. An annoying one I'll give you that. DIE!"

I didn't stay still and let Judgement crush me.

I teleported around and he swatted at me.

I'm like an annoying fly.

I keep attacking his eyes.

Trying to do something to him

But they are simply incomprehensibly big.

They are also too different from other lifeforms.

I then notice black circles floating at around in one of the areas I teleported to.

"Help! He'll contaminate the food!"

"Food?"

A voice entered his head.

"The food of original incarnations is multiverses."

The voice sounded like Gaia...

He then saw a giant tree lifeform shield him from the attack of the other incarnations.

"Jump into one of those black circles. You'll enter that multiverse!"

"Okay!"

I flew to one of the black circles and jumped into it.

I found myself in the abyss.

I opened up a gateway to the chaos realm.

"Interesting. My bridge is still here."

"So my theory is correct."

"There is more then one abyss... but the chaos realm seems to remain consistent across multiverses. I wonder how that works?"

"This is likely a different chaos realm. But it still has a connection to others."

"So the difference lies likely in distance."

"One multiverse has a chaos realm in a certain area. Another multiverse chaos realm lies in a different area. The doors connect to spaces in different multiverses. "

"So my bridge will always be in this area of the 'chaos realm' even if I go to different chaos realms."

"So if I master the chaos realm. I will master every multiverse!"

"But I must remember. This is all a product of my mind. There could be some inaccuracy in reality."

I head back to the place that should not be named.

I mess around with the original incarnations...

Repeatedly dying and having my memory scrambled.

I find myself living various lives.

"Somebody is witnessing my struggle here. They are trying to trick me into never leaving this loop."

But who is Zero?

He is a timeless existence!

For others.

Getting trapped for thousands of years is the end of the line for them.

They'll never breakthrough.

But Zero has infinite time!

It isn't a matter of if he'll breakthrough.

It's a matter of when!

Sometimes he recognized he was in a dream.

Sometimes he lived entire lives oblivious.

Growing from a child to an old man.

He dodged the dreams trying to trap him a few times.

But he wasn't always so lucky.

He ended up in contracts that lasted for thousands of years.

But eventually time even wiped those out.

With time... even the tallest mountains can turn into dust.

He experienced infinite lives.

Things he couldn't relate to became things he went through in this dream that never ended.

He got the chance to be every single person on multiple planets.

He saw things from their perspective.

He had truly lived through the vicissitudes of life.

It was then that he began to change.

His physical body might have been timeless.

His mind was guarded by infinity.

So unlike other people when put through such a situation.

He never became 'trapped'.

He merely allowed himself to experience change.

Sometimes he was a slave.

Sometimes a master.

Sometimes a doctor.

Sometimes a king.

Sometimes a peasant.

An assassin.

Instead of going insane like any person would from experiencing so many lives.

He began to become something else entirely.
