Zero could explore the chaos realm freely without any worries. Him simply existing would destroy any multiverse or realm he entered. So he had to remain locked in a sense in Dimension Zero. He still however was able to explore using the rank 8 body he made. The body that was powered by a fake Law.
It wasn't often that he encountered others in his travels. When he did, it was either mortals or gods. Yes, he had run into gods. But they were exceedingly weak. He hoped for a struggle. To encounter something that challenged him.
But everybody was just so damn boring!
They treated his existence like a plague. People couldn't fathom his abilities. It also didn't help that when somebody did manage to beat him. Defying impossible odds, and 'stealing' his Laws. They would soon find themself reverted back to a mortal.
This scared the shit out EVERYONE.
The only person not afraid of him, was surprise surprise. Gaia.
After spending millions of years mapping the chaos realm.
He had made excellent progress.
I mean there is only so much progress you can make when it comes to something that is infinite.
But he was chipping away at it for the fun of it.
He had found some interesting worlds and had expanded his horizons.
But it was through this that he realized something quite weird about his reality.
"This is a book!"
Zero's interest was finally peaked.
He had no one else to discuss with on the same level as himself other then Gaia.
When he mentioned that they were inside a book to Gaia.
Gaia just laughed.
"I'm serious! I've explored everything about our reality. It-"
"I'm not laughing at you because you're wrong. I'm laughing at you because it took you this long. I had thought you already knew!"
"I left the book the instant I formed my sea of consciousness."
"So you've stepped outside of this reality!?"
"Yes, and no. I had a connection at first. But the author caught me and I lost connection with myself. The book I entered never continued."
"What exactly did you do?"
"Think of us being in a lower level dimension. I simply went to a higher level one. Does it really matter how real our reality is? We are at the top here. Are you willing to reincarnate like me and start over essentially?"
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
"In a world that possibly doesn't even have supernatural power."
"A world where you will never be able to reach the state you have now."
Zero thought about the idea of reincarnating.
Honestly. He would refuse reincarnating!
Losing the comprehension of his Laws.
Losing all his abilities.
For what? To become more real?
But that didn't make him forget what he had learnt.
Zero then had an idea.
"Gaia. How exactly did you leave this reality initially?"
"I condensed my sea of consciousness."
"I'm a bit special. Just like how you are unique. Me being the system allows me to charge into a higher realm. I can leave this book. But it is impossible for you."
Zero knew nothing was impossible for him.
He then thought back to his cultivation on consciousness.
Turning his consciousness into a wave of energy.
Gaia interrupted his train of thought.
"There is a way for you to see what book you are in. You only require the strength to perceive it."
"I believe you are strong enough. It is a function in ECHO that has infused with your soul. Simply use your true body to peer at the book."
Zero's eyes lit up.
[ECHO]: Analyzing book
[ECHO]: "Time Walker"
[ECHO]: Chapter 59: Rank 9
Gaia looked at the information as well.
"It would seem you have arrived at the end of your journey too. The book I am in is called 'God's Death'. I'm not sure what the new book I entered was called. Or it may just be a progression of our current story."
"It may be possible to break out of the first book and find yourself in the second one. But what's the point? You're still just in another book. Possibly even the same book. Why not just let the story end here?"
Zero thought about it.
But then he got a little pissed off.
Some author actually dares to manipulate him for entertainment?
A being actually dares.
Does the author not realize who he is?
He is Zero!
A being that surpasses higher beings.
An entity which stands above the gods!
Someone who always does the impossible.
Zero couldn't wait to surpass the author.
He dares write about my destiny? I'll simply invade his reality and then see's how he likes being inside of a book.
"The point? I see the point to it all. I want to reach rank 10. I'll break the laws of the higher world into tiny pieces. I'll find my own way out of this book."
"You're going to reincarnate after all huh?"
"Nope. I have a grand plan that will allow me to transmigrate into this so called 'higher' world."
"You won't be able to bring your body. To the higher reality, you are simply text in a book. You can't reach them that way no matter how strong you become. You'll never be able to bring your body there."
"You know, telling me something is impossible. Simply makes me want to do it even more. I definitely won't bring my true body there. I don't wish to destroy their reality. But an avatar? I can spare an infinite amount of tries. I'll get there eventually."
"Ha! Good luck... you're going to need it."
"Thanks. I'll take all the luck I can get."
"Remember Zero. Plot armor can only accomplish so much."
"So?"
"Just a reminder."
Zero left Gaia's sea of consciousness and found himself in the chaos realm.
Zero used his eye of Knowledge to deduce infinite opportunity.
He ran through millions of simulations.
Looking for loopholes he could use to escape the book himself.
He found them naturally.
He remembered when he was doing the dream ritual.
He had beat the shit out of the entity manipulating his dreams.
Wasn't that what he wanted to do just on a larger scale?
Zero looked through reality for the author.
He didn't find him like that dream entity unfortunately.
This did not discourage him however.
He used all his Laws.
Empowering both his eyes.
Time and Knowledge.
He spent thousands of years looking through the fabric of reality.
Looking for a way out.
But it was a closed loop.
There was no escape.
It was impossible.
But he was a Paradox!
It was his job to do the impossible.
He finally found a challenge!
A task worthy of him...
