I'm not going to lie.
I stayed at the party until nearly everyone had left.
It was fun listening to their stories about how great I was.
Did you know?
I am quite amazing.
Solving the worlds hardest problems.
Inventing Gateways.
Giving my work to the masses instead of keeping it secret.
Showing the world innovative and new ways to see formations
It truly is hard to be such a perfect character.
Sigh.
If only ancient entities were as enthusiastic about me as the kids in this party.
I learned quite a bit.
I didn't even need to dissect anybody's brain for the knowledge either!
Apparently there is a rumor that Zero is still alive.
People think he went to a higher world and is likely a rank 5.
What is a higher world, and how do you get there?
Apparently it is a relatively new thing.
Shortly after my teleportation formation leaked to the higher world.
They felt like they had to one up me.
So they open up their version of a gateway every hundred years.
This leads to their 'superior' world.
You're only able to go there if your rank 1.
It turns out this universe is layered.
Each world is its own dimension in a sense.
Right now, I am in a level 0 dimension.
This means that babies born in this world start out as mortals.
A level 1 dimension means babies born start as level 1 magi.
Pretty OP stuff.
The higher you go, the weaker you become.
So a level 1 wizard in a level 0 world is far stronger then a level 1 wizard in a level 1 world.
So even though people can be born at rank 4 in a level 4 world.
They'll be only about as strong as a rank 1 in a level 0 world.
Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator.
A level 2 dimension and you are born as a level 2 magi.
Apparently there are 7 such dimensions: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6.
Once you get to rank 6, laws start to really be the only way to progress.
So... nope! No being born as a rank 7 or 8 being.
Also, no reincarnating to the higher dimensions to start with to be ahead of the curve.
Since everyone reincarnates to level 0.
Its not like I plan on ever reincarnating.
I'm simply too OP for that shit.
If their soul is strong, they won't even be able to live long enough to rise in the ranks.
The portals are one way as well...
So once you head to a higher dimension, you can only go higher and higher.
This system is perfectly balanced to keep Owtz Eerth at the top.
But I have something that nobody else does.
Besides my unquestionable noble character.
I have time.
I don't age.
My perception of time makes it so I have no problems waiting.
I don't plan on leaving this dimension yet.
Even if I do, the coordinates Gaia gave me lead to this town in dimension 0.
So I have a way to come back.
I still need to test out my pocket dimension.
I manipulate the parameters for the formation on my wrist.
It should target the universe that I collapsed.
Right before I infuse the mana.
I realize it is probably a bad idea to do this in Owtz's world.
If I accidentally collapsed his world... I wonder how mad he would be?
Maybe I can use this as a sort of bomb when fighting him.
Although that is kind of punishing those born in his universe for no reason.
I change the parameters again to my bridge.
I open the portal and step through.
Once there. I go for a walk and randomly choose a door to do my test in.
I end up in the middle of a desert.
I modify the parameters again.
This time to the gateway in my cube that is in the collapsed universe.
Surprisingly it works!
And if someone wants to rob me.
Not only does the door leading there not exist anymore.
But the universe is collapsed!
They would have to be able to exist in a collapsed universe.
I mean... I probably killed trillions of people to do this.
But you win some, you lose some...
I should be more careful in the future... to reduce casualties.
That is hypothetical anyways.
That may have been an empty universe.
I'm not telling myself that just to feel better...
I open a portal back to the chaos realm.
I'm unable to open my storage dimension while in the chaos realm.
But I am able to do it while outside of it.
So I return to the obsidian door.
I walk in expecting to find the hall that was there last time.
But instead I am greeted by ruins.
And powerful shockwaves.
Two people are fighting.
"Return Zero's inheritance!"
"Never demon!"
My inheritance?
I left an inheritance?!
Why did nobody tell me...
I speak up.
"I also am also curious about this inheritance!"
They both look at me.
"Small fry."
Green mist is shot towards me.
My nanite membrane blocks it easily.
"Did you real-"
I end up swallowing the mist while talking.
Death
Zero's body is vaporized afterwards.
The two people stop fighting.
"Didn't that person look like Zero?"
"That's impossible! Even a rank 5 wouldn't live that long!"
----------------------------------------
I awake in the abyss.
My mana dissipated, so I pull out my pocket watch.
6:66 PM
I click the crown
I find myself at my bridge.
My mana begins to refill.
I decide that next time somebody shoots a mysterious mist at me.
I will not breathe it in!
I don't really need to breathe... it is just a habit.
It isn't like there is oxygen in the abyss.
Yet I survive physically there.
So the only possible reason why... is I don't need oxygen either.
I don't age.
I don't need to eat.
I don't need to breathe.
But I did collapse when I was on the moon.
But I think that had something to do with the vacuum of space.
Once I engrave Infinity on my soul.
I should be able to trap my own environment around me.
So I'll be completely encased.
I'll theoretically be invulnerable.
This would take an infinite amount of mana usually.
But passive spells don't use any mana.
Although enough force can break through them.
But the design of my Infinity spell is different.
It isolates me from the world.
This should also help me, should I end up in space again.
The main problem is... it'll restrict my nanites to my body.
Since there will be an infinite distance between me and the world.
Even if I am able to interact with it.
So, I'll need to rely on spells more after becoming a rank 1.
I won't be able to build things using my nanites.
Well, I'll simply stop my passive when I need to.
Otherwise, I'll have it running all the time.
