2: Chapter 6: Time Machine

"If instead of collapsing the wave through observation. What if we changed it? We would essentially be changing the other distant particle. If the particles are able to communicate on a timeline. We can directly change the past by changing a particle in the present. By taking control of the present we control both the future and the past!"

Zero now had an idea on how to approach creating his time machine.

He was a little excited.

His original time machine had been given to him because of a paradox.

He had directly given himself the machine.

Now he would be truly building his own!

So Zero began his work with this new direction.

He began to dive head first into quantum mechanics.

He decided he would create quantum immortality for himself.

He tested out various combinations of particles in his accelerator.

He quickly became quite famous.

Not because of anything relating to time travel.

It was due to a leak of his fusion reactor.

People were amazed at such clean and enormous energy.

Unfortunately for Zero this left some companies that dealt in power quite mad at him.

They planned to assassinate him and spread rumors about the dangers of a fusion reactor.

But sadly... Zero simply stayed in his building.

So they never got a chance.

After three years of hard work.

Zero had made a special generator.

He called it the time isolator.

It was in the form of a digital watch on his wrist.

What did this generate?

It created an extremely small blackhole.

This blackhole wasn't a sphere though.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

It's event horizon would match that of the person wearing the device.

They would be covered in a sort of shield.

This was his plan to turn from a leaf being guided down the stream of time, to a rock that stays in place.

This would be his very first time running it.

He went to his office and activated his time isolator.

He was covered in a darkness.

His vision went black.

He lost his sense of smell.

His hearing.

He lost the sense of touch.

He couldn't feel anything.

This was all intentional.

What he was experiencing was something he called 'negative time'.

He would be trapped here forever.

Or so you would think.

The watch was set on a timer.

After experiencing three minutes, which felt like years.

He awoke in his office.

"Success!"

By shielding his body in the event horizon of a blackhole.

He had made himself extremely dense.

Instead of creating a singularity... he simply became the singularity.

The thing is, that space he entered.

It was a reality without time.

He had studied his consciousness and isolated every aspect.

The main important thing to take note of, is that the moment he became a 'rock' in the river of time.

A sort of bookmark was left in the river of time.

He had essentially formed an anchor to the specific moment he first activated his time isolator.

If the universe is predetermined.

What he just did was basically the equivalent of saying 'fuck you' to the universe.

He still had no way to actually go back in time though.

This was a time isolator... not a time machine.

Although he hoped it would eventually make the upgrade.

So began years of research...

When two particles are entangled.

You do not think of them as communicating with themselves.

You think of them as one object.

If you change the part, you change the entire system.

How would one go about changing such a small system?

Nanites!

Although his original nanites were too big to change things on the atomic level.

So he simply needed to make them smaller.

Originally about a hundred of his nanites could fit in a blood cell.

It was so small that it didn't really interact with anything

He needed to up the scale and make it so a hundred trillion nanites fit into a blood cell.

Then he needed to make it so that they were even smaller.

He wanted to make each nanite the size of the Plank length.

So they essentially would exist in the quantum realm.

So he hired some more engineers and manufacturer's and had them build the precise equipment he would need. He started the project by evolving a virus into a robot over time, and modifying it. Then having it replicate itself at smaller and smaller levels.

After about a year of doing this.

He had made the nanites so small that they could invade any matter without changing its properties.

It was then that he made a particle isolator.

He then tested out various theories.

It was a success.

He was able to change any properties of any particle.

Thus changing the system.

He then had his particle isolator built on a much larger scale.

He used crystals to entangle the particles.

Using the spin of up and down.

He made a binary configuration and attempted to send data back in time.

He succeeded.

How did he know this?

Well due to how he was born in this world, having started out as an artificial intelligence. He still retained the ability to receive and send or manipulate data.

So the quantum superposition that he modified and broke. All the data was captured by him.

He could feel his memories being modified by the new data.

He was now able to send information back in time.

But the universe only allowed him to send it as far back as when he had initially isolated time.
