Chapter 1: Restrictions

Chapter 1: Restrictions

Zero leaves his cell and heads to the debriefing room...

When he gets there, instead of finding his fellow other zero's (it is a brand of human).

He his greeted by Eternus himself.

Immediately he had a bad feeling...

"Did they find out about the book?"

"Hello #119... we noticed some weird behavior when monitoring you. We just need to do a quick mental scan."

My stomach immediately hurts...

A mental scan is normally only used when someone is suspected to have defected.

I would rather not have my thoughts seen through.

"What is this all about?"

Eternus smiles and passes me a tablet.

On it I see myself drawing an 'S' in the air and then looking at the hidden camera, smiling and disappearing from the room.

A few seconds later, I am back in the room.

"The tracker installed in your chip said that you couldn't be found for roughly 5 seconds... So #119... where did you go... but more importantly, how did you do it?"

"If we are able to get the technology required to teleport, it would greatly increase our military prowess. Alright, scan him."

I don't fight back as I allow them to bring me to the brain scanner.

I guess my little secret was found out earlier then expected.

They scan my brain.

But they find nothing.

How odd.

When they get to the memory of finding the ruin... the machine itself breaks.

"Well #119 … I have some good news and some bad news. Which would you like to hear first?"

"Bad news."

"We think you have been exposed to some entity... one that doesn't exist within our universe."

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"How did you come to that conclusion?"

"A hundred years ago... right after I was born. Portals begin to open up all around the world. Where these portals led, nobody knew. But what we did know, was that when you go through the portal... you never come back out. People had tried sending in cameras and other equipment. But they never received any data back."

"Eventually a few people decided to stick only their heads in quickly and pull out... it was at that point that they reported seeing ancient beings and gods. Those people all went insane and died from seizures not long after. It was then that we were invaded by these beings... but using the power of technology, we held out wave after wave until the portals closed."

"The gods or 'entities' seem to have subtle influence over reality. Able to warp time and space. If it wasn't due to our progress in technology exponentially being akin to magic after so many years of development... we would have been wiped out entirely."

"It took entire armies to take down a single entity from those portals. They had surpassed the human limit."

"So you think that one of these entities is messing with me?"

"Well, that is the only way we can explain your sudden ability to teleport."

"The main question we have, is if you're able to do it at will."

"That'll be a no... I didn't even realize that I teleported."

"Hmm... alright. But due to your value increasing, we will be removing the S-class privedges from you and returning you to C-class."

"Why? I haven't done anything wrong."

"We know... but we can't risk you dying out on a silly mission when you could potentially open up telportation to us."

"We will be experimenting on you everyday to try to figure out the source of your power. We are sorry for any inconvenience."

After that day, they would spend most of the day torturing me in different ways.

Because of the nanites healing ability... they really went quite crazy with the torture.

But after a month, they had made no progress so I was able to go back to my original cell and given virtual reality access again.

I still wasn't allowed to leave the facility or to go on any missions.

I guess this is what people would refer to as a vacation.

Remember how he said there was good news?

Well that was just me not having to do missions for now.

It was the first time since being born that I had time to myself... and it was boring.

I missed the close calls, the fighting, the destruction of the missions.

Although I guess I now will work on my 'Global Existence'

SOURCE = {

manifest:"100051oi01^ti9+ai21+ec1-ac52275227422732272ec+2ia+9it^100000:nrettap,",

Name: "Zero",

Timeline: H03,

Type: nothing,

Target: "Zero #119"

TrueExistence: "Paradox",

GlobalExistence: 'ECHO',

Pattern:"000001^ti9+ai21+ce2270227122731175-1ce+2ia+9it^10io150001"}

I modified the step a little bit since I don't own a computer (from that era).

Also My origin universe should be H02 (since that was in the synopsis of "Paradox")

I'll simply make ECHO the 'virus' and have it be my anchor.

So it says to become a Paradox... you have to have always been one.

Fair enough.

It says I need to do something impossible.

I have ECHO convert the source to binary and save it.

I then wait until march 23rd.

So boring.

I still haven't been able to leave the facility.

Once it hits 11:57PM I begin chanting the binary of my Global Existence.

I do eventually reach the end of it despite being told in the book I wouldn't

Then I notice it is 11:59

I guess I was a little too fast.

So I sit there waiting and watch as the clock hits 11:57.

Holy shit!

It actually worked!

Yes! I'm trapped in a timeloop!!!

I immediately hop into my virtual reality chamber and begin the process of downloading it into ECHO.

21 hours later in virtual reality I find myself outside of the chamber and it is 11:57 PM again.

I also notice that my meager progress carried over.

This is going to be fun.
