Werlin takes me back to his laboratory.
He ask me to sit on his medical recliner as he puts on gloves and takes out a syringe.
I stop him before he sticks me with it.
"That won't be needed."
I ask:
"Where will you be storing my blood?"
"In this bag."
"Ok."
I disable my passive spell infinity.
I then use my nanites to move my blood through the air and into the bag.
"How miraculous... is that the nanites?"
"Yep."
"Can I get a few of those to test on as well."
"They are in the blood."
"What do you mean?"
"They are tiny machines in my blood. It is too small for you to study."
I fill up ten bags.
Every few seconds my body restores back to its prime.
So I don't have to worry about the blood loss.
I say:
"Remember our agreement. I want your rank 4 passive spell and to not be tied to the discovery whatsoever."
"I understand."
"Also, no telling other people the main ingredient of the potion. Keep it a secret."
"I also want 10 of the potions for free!"
Werlin gets to work.
He also requires my expertise in formations.
I make a life burning formation in the center of his lab.
I also tattoo a formation across his body.
Then put cuts all over his body.
He holds the potion which he named the 'Immortality Potion' in his hand.
The main ingredient is the essence of my blood.
It takes about 10 pounds of my blood to make a single potion.
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
It also uses expensive potioneering materials.
This is his first time succeeding in making the potion.
He decides to test it on himself.
Currently he is 900 years old.
He has about 380 years of so left.
This is based on what he told me by feeling his life force.
I turn on the formation and use my nanites to draw out his blood.
He then pours the potion over his head.
His passive spells are disabled for this ritual.
I scan him.
The before:
[ECHO]: {Name: "Werlin Miracle", Species: Human, Energy: 0 GR, Strength: 30, Vitality: 25, Mana: 3000. Spirit: 15, Soul: 5}
The after:
[ECHO]: {Name: "Werlin Miracle", Species: Human (Zero), Energy: 0 GR, Strength: 30, Vitality: 75, Mana: 3000. Spirit: 30, Soul: 10}
The base of his lifespan went from 80 to 200.
Slightly lower then my predictions.
But insane none the less.
If a normal mortal does this ritual.
They can live to be 200 years old!
His lifespan has improved to 3,200 years!.
He is only 900 years old.
He will live for many more centuries.
I finally feel like I can have a friend.
One that won't die from old age!
For now at least.
The only problem is that the ritual requires the joint efforts of a potioneering grandmaster and a formations grandmaster.
This isn't something just anybody could afford.
I'm not talking masters here.
I'm talking grandmasters.
The legends.
I am one myself after all.
Even I am powerless when it comes to potions.
It just didn't click with me the same way formations did.
I suppose you could say my affinity with potions was crap.
Although I am good at taking care of the material prep and growing the herbs.
But that is from doing it for hundreds of years after all.
Anybody would be good at that after doing it hundreds of thousands of times.
I ask Werlin what he plans to do now that he has successfully made the potion.
He tells me that he will honor our agreement.
But he also doesn't plan on releasing his discovery publicly.
He wants to keep this resource to himself.
Releasing such a discovery could shake the world as he knows it.
Rank 5's would not be happy to have someone of a lower rank outliving them.
If it was my discovery.
I would make it public for sure.
I have nothing to lose.
But I can understand his decision to keep it private.
He spends a few months making potions.
I get 10 of them as promised.
I keep them in my storage dimension.
Maybe if I find a promising disciple in the future.
I can change their bloodline to a zero.
[ECHO]: {Name: "Zero #119", Species: Abyssal Paradox (Human), Energy: 1 GR, Strength: 11, Vitality: 21, Nanites: 3.88274e+13, Mana: 721. Spirit: 985, Soul: 79}
During the entire development of the potion.
I had only been able to etch 1 more rune...
I ask what Werlins aptitude was.
He told me it was a 5.
So his was pretty low as well.
It took him over 400 years to become a rank 4.
Bro.
I explained to him, that it took me 170 years to become a level 1 acolyte.
I also told him my aptitude was a 1.
He laughed quite a bit at that...
He was also one of the few people that believed I was the original Zero.
He said it explained history a bit.
My name had popped up a few times in history.
I was intrigued.
But it was just stuff I remembered doing.
People had theories on me.
Some even believed that 'Zero' was a time traveler from the future.
In a way, I suppose they are right.
I ask him if there are any quicker ways of speeding up the process of etching runes.
Surprisingly he says there are.
He normally wouldn't help someone with this.
But since it was me.
He would hook me up with the best potions.
Having a potioneering grandmaster as a friend makes giving him all that blood so worth it!
He gives me hundreds of his own invention.
'Rune Insanity Drink'
You take the potion once.
It last for an entire year.
During this time.
You will inscribe runes at 4x the rate.
This shit is insane.
Best part is.
You can't even buy this type of potion on the market.
This was invented by him.
It also only works on those with an aptitude of 3 or lower.
LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!
