Zero was using the sea of consciousness within his independent consciousness.
The problem was... it was entirely full.
It had millions of mechanisms from his nine sublime artifacts.
What if he used temporal energy instead of mental energy?
Zero found that he didn't need to turn his sea of consciousness into a source generator.
It was naturally generating TE.
The capacity and quality of the energy was insane.
It far surpassed natural mental source.
[ECHO]: {TE:1800000}
It would take 417 days to refill if he used it all.
Zero rotated the visualization technique.
It should've taken a month to tap into source.
But it took him a few seconds using TE as a substitute.
He had become an acolyte in this system.
"That was easy."
[ECHO]: Analyzing book
[ECHO]: "Time Walker"
[ECHO]: 3: Chapter 11: Acolyte
Zero didn't plan on letting Morti know he broke through to an acolyte in a few seconds.
There was a few reasons for this.
It would be highly suspicious for one.
It would also probably turn him into a lab rat.
He was strong enough to resist this...
But it wasn't necessary.
Zero planned to wait around a month to inform Morti.
During this month he tried using 'spells'.
It wasn't powered by runes.
It was essentially cantrips.
By using intent, you could produce a phenomenon.
Zero decided to visit the library.
Although. It cost task points to check out the books.
They were also stored in crystals.
So you would need to at least be an acolyte to use them.
Zero had no task points.
So he didn't check out any books.
He just browsed their selection.
It was too bad that he couldn't read them.
He had no points.
The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.
Zero thought about freezing time and taking them.
But the crystals only had the first bit of data.
You had to take the crystal to the librarian for them to access their archives and give you the crystal with all of the data.
Zero found a loophole immediately in this system.
He just needed enough task points to buy a single crystal.
He could then just save point and reload and read through every book in the library.
Now, he just needed a job.
It only cost 20 points to get a low level book.
50 points for something more complex.
The most expensive book on the acolyte level cost 100 points.
So in theory, he just need 100 points to read through every book.
So Zero went to the task manager and looked at the board.
All of the requirements required a minimum rank of acolyte.
So unless he wanted to blow his cover.
He couldn't do any jobs currently.
Even basic cleaning jobs for some reason required one to be an acolyte.
So Zero had the ability 'Temporal Cloak' that allowed him to disguise his soul, consciousness and aura easily.
So nobody was able to tell he was already an acolyte.
Only Warlocks in this world got their power through contracts of the soul.
Wizards got their power through consciousness.
So in this world, Zero would be considered a 'Warlock' due to how his law Paradox worked with his fake soul.
But truthfully... Zero was whatever he wanted to be.
He had Mysterious Presence.
And his law Paradox.
So none of his systems would conflict.
The universe also didn't reject his past systems.
Which is why he could use spells that weren't even compatible with this reality.
Somebody saw Zero looking at the task board.
They walked up to Zero.
"Are you looking for a job? I'm Farley"
"Sure."
"We are clearing out magical beast outside the academy. You can join us if you want. Are you a knight? It can be a little dangerous."
Zero had some recollection of knights from Gabe's memory.
"I am actually a grand knight. I've ignited my life force."
"Excellent! Where is your weapon?"
"It is in my dorm. I'll go get it."
"Nice. Since you aren't an acolyte yet. You can't officially accept the mission. But we can transfer some points to you based on your contribution."
"That's fine with me. I just need 100 points."
"Hmm... that'll be hard to get in a single mission. You'll probably get around 20 honestly. Still want to come?"
"Sure. You have to start somewhere."
"Well, go get your weapon and potions. We'll meet up at the board in around 40 minutes."
"Alright. I'll be back."
Zero walked to his dorm.
After entering and closing the door.
He held out his hand and used his law of Cosmos.
A sword materialized out of thin air.
Zero swung it and a gust of win generated in his room.
Throwing his blanket and pillows around the room.
"This should work as a weapon."
Zero then created a scabbard and put his sword in it.
Zero didn't have any potions.
He also couldn't just will those into existence.
He needed to understand what he created at least at some level.
He never researched into potioneering.
It likely worked differently as well in this universe.
Zero walked to the task board and waited for them.
After about 30 minutes.
A group of acolytes approached him.
"You're Zero right? I heard you have a level 5 aptitude?"
Who told them about his aptitude?
"Yep."
"Great. You'll catch up with us in a month or so. We should introduce ourselves to know our strengths and weaknesses. So nothing goes wrong while hunting."
There was seven people in the party including Zero.
Zero went first.
"I am Zero, I am proficient in hand to hand combat. I was born with a special physique. I'm extremely tough and it is hard for me to get injured. I am a grand knight. I have ignited my life force and can fight with this sword. My aptitude is 5."
A girl spoke up:
"I am Alura. I am a potioneering apprentice. I am not good at physical combat. But I know first aid, and have potions on me that can stop bleeding, cure poison, and heal wounds. I also have a few offensive potions. My aptitude is 4."
A man then introduced himself.
"I am Hale. I am a knight apprentice as well as an acolyte. I am a blacksmith and am proficient in sword combat. I don't have any intents down to a level where I can use them in combat. My aptitude is 3."
"I am Alger. I am an acolyte. But I have mastered a few intents. I can use fireball and lightning attacks. I am not good at physical combat...Aptitude is 3."
"I'm Orlan. I am a paladin and and will be an acolyte in a few years. I'm proficient with this bow and crossbow. I am not good with close combat. But I am quite good at fighting from a distance. My aptitude is 2..."
"Farley. I'm a grand knight as well. I have a strengthening skill. I'm also an acolyte. I'm quite good with this machete. Aptitude is 3. "
"I'm Avery. I'm a good scout. I was born with very good vision. I'm also an acolyte. I have an intent that let's me heal wounds. I also have an intent that let's me give buffs to my allies. Aptitude is 3. "
Zero spoke:
"What sort of buffs?"
"I can improve the parties reaction speed and strength."
"Interesting... I suppo-"
Hale then interrupted Zero.
"May I see your weapon?"
"..."
"Sure..."
Zero unsheathed his sword and handed it to Hale.
"This sword! Is this an artifact? It is perfect. No imperfections at all..."
"Thanks, I found it in a rock."
Hale handed back the sword.
"That sword is excellent. I'll buy it from you, after this mission."
Zero squinted his eyes.
"Maybe."
