Chapter 3: Escaping the loop

Chapter 3: Escaping the loop

First I should figure out why it is so important to become insane.

I've read the entire book of "Paradox".

But I notice that my memories of the steps are constantly changing.

It is as if someone from the past is reading my actions and editing the chapters.

Probably just paranoia.

So there are different types of insanity.

Stable insanity is that which is cultivated by yourself.

Unstable insanity is from other entities.

The difference is being a free man or being a slave.

Why are either of these important?

Well, I'm failing to become insane the stable way.

So what if I let myself get infected by a higher being.

As soon as this thought crosses my mind.. I get a message.

[ECHO]: {User:"H10", Message:"Don't do it... if your ready to leave the loop. Just take a leap of faith"}

A leap of faith?

Just jump out in the abyss? Then fall until the velocity kills me?

Oh...

I'll never get to that point, since I'll restart after a few minutes.

So I jump into the abyss.

After around 30 seconds of falling, I feel something eating at me.

My vision begins to dim.

I feel like I am getting erased.

I then realize...

I just died.

I'm now truly in the abyss.

It is trying to eat my existence.

But my visualization technique beats as if it is my heart in this world.

I thought I had escaped the loop

But I find myself back in my cell after another minute.

What the fuck... neither of these guys methods worked.

Where is my plot armor?

I should of escaped this loop on the first try...

I immediately angrily message back H10.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

But he responds with this.

[ECHO]: {User:"H10", Message:"Sorry... I was just using you as a test xD. I really thought it would work. "}

I guess I'll just stay in this loop.

Due to the chip in my brain... I can hold a few hundred exabtyes.

That is enough memory to last me-

Wait!

That's it!

An information overflow.

If I can cause my brain to overflow with information.

I should have a psychotic break.

I bring this up in a meeting and get approval from my other selves.

They all agree to send me their versions of VR. Although some of them had to send it twice to fill up my mind completely. It was a fairly quick process.

It took less then 400 years in VR

I'm losing track of how old mentally I am...

I look down at my hands and hold them out.

The room shrinks and stretches as if it is changing sizes.

"This is it! My first Hallucination!"

I then hold out my hand and make a fist.

I then punch.

Reality cracks like glass.

I jam my fingers in-between the cracks and stretch.

You see.. I had to read between the lines of "Paradox" a little bit.

It was quite vague when talking about how to break out of the loop.

Some bullshit about using willpower and the law of causality.

But we must remember, that the universe is in the middle of a restart.

Time doesn't matter to it, even if it does for me.

It is similar to VR in a sense.

1 second for the universe could be billions of years for me.

So if I just wait... I'll likely not get of of this loop for billions of years.

But you know what the universe does care about?

You breaking its things.

That should speed up the process of its restart

Which is why I punched a hole through reality.

If I wasn't delusional... this would have been impossible.

But I can feel a certain madness growing in my heart.

I'm about to jump into the hole, but I'm stopped by android security.

I speak aloud.

"How interesting... I actually left the loop."

I remember something important.

So I toss the bots into a wall and put my hand into the portal opened in reality.

I then pull some of the blackness out in the form of a thread.

[ECHO]: Establishing connection...

What I'm pulling at is the fabric of reality.

Immediately everything around me starts to disappear as if I was in a simulation

I then find myself in the abyss looking at a embryo.

I've done it!

I traveled to before I was born.

I now exist outside both my birth and death.

Eventually I catch up when I did that 'S' gesture.

I watch as I disappear.

Oh... I feel my anchor appear in this universe.

So that's why...

My consciousness is immediately updated.

A part of me stays in the abyss, while another part of me takes control of the body.

[ECHO]: {User: "Eternus", Message: "Report to the debriefing room"}

I remember this

"Hello #119... we noticed some weird behavior when monitoring you. We just need to do a quick mental scan."

"Yes."

"You...can you explain this?"

They pass me a tablet.

It shows me looking up at the camera, making an 'S' gesture and then dissappearing.

"Can you guys just do the mental scan already, I have things to do."

The smile on Eternus's face immediately disappears.

"Since when does a zero have things to do?"

"I don't know, missions, reading, training."

"Well... due to-"

"You're taking my privileges away and putting them at C-grade, aren't you?"

"How did you know that?"

"I've got a good sense of smell."

"Sense of smell?"

"I can smell the shit."

"I think something has happened to #119...."

"Also his aura... it doesn't match that of a zero."

"Take him away to the scanners."

Any equipment they use to try to read my mind either blows up or straight up doesn't work.

So they decide to torture me to get me to teleport again.

During this process I begin to reread the steps of "Paradox".

Step 4 is useless to me.

I need no treatment.

Step 5 could be handy... but I'll be leaving behind my Hivemind, so I'd rather not.

Step 6: Memorize the universe.

Now that sounds up my ally.

If ECHO follows me upon reincarnation.

I shouldn't have to seal my memories.

But now I must deal with the 13 days of infinite time.

Nah... I'll pass.

"From memorizing the entire universe itself.

You will become a true time walker.

You will be omnipotent.

It will take many lifetimes.

Eternal study.

When the map of the universe is your mind.

The universe becomes no different then your mind itself.

You can do anything."

Where does one even begin to start memorizing the universe?
