Hale handed back the sword.
"That sword is excellent. I'll buy it from you, after this mission."
"Maybe."
Hale laughed.
"It'll be worth it. I understand that it may have a history with you. It something extremely precious. It is the same for my sword. I created it myself. I understand how much effort had to go into it."
Zero had to stop himself from laughing.
"I wonder how he would react knowing I made it on a whim."
The others noticed Zero had a creepy expression on his face.
"Are you alright?"
"Oh... yea, I'm fine. When are we going on the mission?"
Farley spoke:
"Right now."
They headed to the gate of the academy.
Farley slapped his forehead.
"I forgot. You don't have a travelers pendant do you? You'll need to buy one of those when you get a chance. Otherwise you can't leave the pocket dimension."
"We won't be leaving this time. We will be hunting monsters that populate outside of the academy."
Zero then asked:
"Where exactly do they come from?"
Hale had a sneer on his face:
"They are born from the temporal energy that the pocket dimension creates."
Zero then said:
"Do you have something against temporal energy?"
"It is too wild and uncontrollable. It is useless for a magician. To control it and use it for intents would be impossible and would require too much processing power."
Zero laughed.
"Alright. Fair point."
Zero was playing a normal person.
Not even a wizard yet.
He had no right to dispute Hale on temporal energy.
When his understanding of it likely beat the top experts of this universe.
It would be like a full grown adult arguing with a toddler.
Although, in this case... maybe the toddler was right.

Zero was quite an outlier when it came to power systems.
He could adopt as many as he wanted.
'Save Point 2'.
Zero made sure to use the save point right as they got to the entrance.
The hunt began.

[ECHO]: 3: Chapter 12: Mission
Avery notified the group of some spatial apes ahead.
Zero didn't do much.
He charged in with the other six as Avery buffed everyone.
Zero didn't feel much of a difference.
Zero was pretending to be a grand knight with a 'special' physique.
His strength was already quite good with his body of data.
But he might as well buff himself.
He saw the team was struggling with the spatial ape.
So he cast Maximize Strength.
[ECHO]: {Name: "Maximize Strength", Level: 4, Type: Target, Element: Mana, Cost: 2000, Desc: "Multiply strength by 50 for 60 seconds."}
Zero's strength soared.
He wasn't even near the ape.
"Everyone move out of the way. I'm using my ultimate ability as a grand knight!"
"Good idea!"
Farley used his strengthening skill and drew the attention to himself.
Alger helped by using a lightning attack to paralyze the ape for a few seconds.
The rest dispersed.
Zero casually swung his sword.
The air from the attack was sharp enough to do fatal damage.
The ape was cleanly severed into two pieces.
Everybody looked at Zero in disbelief.
"What sort of attack was that?!"
"What inheritance do you practice? That attack was at the level of an official wizard!"
Zero then realized he might have overdone it.
"My inheritance is called..."
Zero then spoke in English.
He called the inheritance 'nonsense'.
But to them it sounded like a foreign language.
"I see... where did you acquire it? Can I learn it as well?"
"I found it in a rock."
"I suppose I could teach you."
"Really?!"
"I don't see why not?"
Zero just needed to create an intent that multiplied strength.
That shouldn't be too hard.
He just needed to read the theories of this world.
"But I'm going to need payment first."
"How much do you need? Gold? Magic crystals?"
"Nah. I'll need task points."
Farley and Hale spoke at the same time.
"How many?"
"Just 100."
"You'll give us your 'nonsense' inheritance for a mere 100 points?"
"Sure."
"I don't have the points on me... but if you can use that skill more. We can easily gather enough this hunt."
"How many times can you use this special skill?"
Zero could use it multiple times.
He could even stack its effect if he wanted.
His strength could become infinite.
"I can use it about three times a day."
Zero lied as easily as he breathed.
Everyone was in shock.
Normally such a technique would only be able to be used once a day.
It would also have terrible side effects.
Just what sort of power was this 'nonsense'.
'Save Point 2'.
They killed a spatial spectre.
They also killed a spatial phoenix.
After that Zero was 'tired'.
So they retired.
"We killed 3 Spatial beast. That's 300 points. Zero did the finishing blow. He'll take 100. We will split the rest among ourselves. All of us will learn the nonsense technique."
Everyone was excited to learn 'nonsense'.
Having a attack with the power of an official wizard would definitely make doing future missions easier.
Zero spoke:
"My technique is very special and it must not be given to others. The way to pass it to someone is a secret. I'll only give you it if you agree to keep it a secret."
"We agree!"
They got back to the academy and transferred the points to Zero.
"Alright... do you write down the technique, or put it in a crystal?"
'Save Point 3'.
Zero laughed.
"There is no technique yet. I'll make it."
"What do you mean?"
"Follow me."
Zero went to the library and bought a crystal.
"How will that help us learn the technique?"
Zero read through the crystal.
'Reload 3'.
"Follow me."
Zero led them to the library.
'Save Point 3'.
Read a crystal.
'Reload 3'.
Repeat.
There was about 10,000 books available to acolytes.
Zero read them all in this loop.
After over 10,000 loops.
Zero had grasped various uses of intent and could now use it properly as an acolyte.
"Why did you bring us to the library?"
"Oh... no reason. Let's head to my dorm. I'll teach you guys the technique there."
