Chapter 78: Really, You’re Here!?
(Resoria’s POV)
While killing, we made sure to leave a few monsters and researchers for Selenia to kill. She does find such things fun, just as much as we do. While doing so, I made a joke that we all found to be funny…
Resoria: “Wouldn’t it be nice if that Minister Zaid was still here in this lab?” I jokingly say.
Cirilia: “It wouldn’t be nice at all.” She said with a scoffing laugh.
Resoria: “Why not?” I reply with a head tilt.
Zella: “Your head tilts only work for Selenia, so save them for her. As for why it won’t be nice, that is because we cannot kill him without Selenia here.” She answered in Cirilia’s stead.
Resoria: “Sure, we can’t kill him, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t injure or maim him in some way.” I reply with an evil tone.
Cirilia: “I’d advise to leave him intact. If we weaken him a lot, or even just by a little bit, then Selenia won’t have as much fun killing him.” She said with a stern tone.
Resoria: “…”
Cirilia was right about that. I often wonder if it was due to the torture that I put her through, is what caused her to have such extreme blood lust. Selenia wasn’t like this before in our first life.
She wouldn’t even hurt a fly. Of course, she hated them, and didn’t care if I killed one for her. But she would never be the one killing them. In fact, one time she accidentally stepped onto a ladybug while walking with me.
That time was fun, and probably one of the key reasons why I kidnapped her back then. Selenia cried after realizing what she did, and was upset the rest of the day. Most would find it childish, or them trying to gain sympathy. Selenia was a young adult at the time, after all. Not a child.
But that wasn’t the case with Selenia. She was actually upset. That is just how sensitive she was back then. A very empathic person, who honestly wouldn’t even speak ill of her worst enemy. Was… was this my fault?
Marika: “It wasn’t your fault, but mine.” She said in my head.
Oh? Our Goddess is talking to me in my head? Odd… she rarely ever talks to us. The reason is that, even with her increased power, using her divinity for a short chat with us isn’t a wise use of that limited resource.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
Resoria: “What do you mean?” I ask in confusion.
Marika: “I am actually the Goddess of Chaos. I had influenced her to be like this, as I had blessed her. So, the reason why she isn’t that sweet and innocent girl that you remember is all my fault. Sorry…” She said with a remorseful tone.
Resoria: “…”
No wonder she changed so much since our first life together. If she didn’t change, partly due to me kidnapping her and ruining her life, and being blessed by Marika, she would have died long ago in this cruel fantasy world.
Cirilia: “Resoria, what’s wrong?” She asked with a concerned tone.
Resoria: “Huh? Oh, nothing… Marika was just having a small chat with me.” I quickly reply, snapping out of my funk.
Cirilia: “I see. We should be reaching the end of this lab soon, so please focus on that. Not that we need to focus, but it is better to be cautious, even with our power.” She advised with a serious tone.
Thinking about this some more, while still killing those researchers, I came to a conclusion… This change in Selenia doesn’t matter. Selenia is still the woman that I love, the woman that I have always loved, and nothing will change that.
It might have been because of Marika that Selenia had such a drastic change, but it was still mainly my fault that this happened. If I didn’t kidnap her, then we would still be living happily in our original dimension.
But that is the past, and nothing I can do will ever change that. In a way, this is for the best. In fact, all of Selenia’s wives are just straight up yanderes. The difference is that Selenia isn’t a weak woman anymore.
If any of us ever close the line, Selenia can defend herself from us. This is one of the key reasons as to why none of us has locked her up in a tower, and never will. This balance is absolutely needed for us.
It keeps us in line, and Selenia will always be happy. She will be happy for the thousands of years to come. Ah… just thinking about how much time that I can spend with Selenia in the future… it makes me so happy!!!
Zella: “I sense a blessed being ahead of us.” She informed with a serious tone.
While I was mostly lost in thought, we came across the last area of this lab. In most of the rooms, we set up spells that we can activate at any time. Once we do activate them, then the place will go up in flames and be destroyed.
This area will be the last place that we need to place spells in. And when that is finished, we can go find Selenia on our way out of this place. Opening up the last large double doors, we were met with an interesting sight…
Minister Zaid: “Ah, so you three are the ones who are turning my lab into a mess, huh?” He scoffed with his arms crossed.
Resoria: “…”
Zella: “…”
Cirilia: “…”
Either he has no idea who we are, or he is heavily underestimating us. After all, we can easily kill him even if we barely try to do so. He relies solely on that blessed being of his.
Of which, said blessed being was standing next to Zaid, seemingly protecting him. Looking at the man, he had blond short hair and deep blue eyes. His will was clearly being blocked. Was Zaid controlling him somehow?
Resoria: “Minister Zaid… It is unfortunate that our wife isn’t here to kill you today.” I say with a laugh.
Zaid: “Who would that be? Ah, I don’t care! Tucker, kill these women already!” He ordered.
Tucker: “…”
Zaid: “Hey, you have to listen to my orders now! Since Grace betrayed us, the agreement that you two would become my willing slaves came into effect. It is a shame that it, for some reason didn’t work on Grace, though.” He said with a sigh.
Tucker: “I will get you for this, Zaid.” He said with an angry tone, before taking out his sword and facing us.
Oh, so he will fight us now? I wonder if we should kill him… Only Zaid is spoken for, not Tucker. Eh, I guess that we can just hold them here until our dear wife, Selenia, arrives and decides. And with that, let the fighting commence!
