Chapter 48: How to Convince Them to not Kill Someone...
(Selenia’s POV)
Despite my confidence filled statement, I truly had no idea how to convince those two to not kill Rem. Literally my best idea is to just tell them that Rem would be a good person to have on our side.
Sure, she kidnapped me, but there were justified reasons for it happening. I am not going to hate Rem just because of this. And in this case, both of us were schemed against. Rather than kill her and move on, can’t we help each other out instead?
Rem and I weren’t walking fast at all. Either she didn’t care about getting caught, or she was confident that we wouldn’t be caught. Going by her face that keeps going through various expressions, I would say that Rem is very confused at the moment.
Before I realized it, Cirilia was behind me, and she easily cut the rope off of my body. She even handed me my sword. This happened in just a few seconds, so Rem had no time to react and stop it from happening.
Drawing my sword, I am now facing Rem with Cirilia and Resoria by my side. It was an odd feeling. We had fought together not that long again, but it oddly feels different. I guess that it is because we’re standing against one enemy, rather than a lot of enemies?
Rem: “It seems that your mana tracking skills haven’t rusted, Lady Cirilia.” She praised.
Cirilia: “Thanks for the compliment. Haven’t your skills rusted, though? The Rem I knew wouldn’t have been caught so fast.” She replied.
Resoria: “Stop talking to her! At this point, we just need to kill her and avenge Selenia!” She said with a serious tone.
Avenge? I am still very much alive, Resoria… Did she hit her head or something? Eh, she is cute, so I will forgive her.
Selenia: “Resoria, I am alive, you know.” I say with a sigh.
Resoria: “I mean to avenge your honor, Selenia!” She clarified.
Selenia: “My honor is still intact!” I say with an annoyed tone, jokingly jabbing Resoria in the stomach.
Cirilia: “That might be so, but we’re still angry.” She said with an angry tone.
Rem: “…”
Yeah, I get it. That is the kind of expression that you would have when watching this scene. A battle-hardened young lady and two princesses talking like good old friends. Funny thing is, we’re actually something more than friends…
Rem: “Are you three going to kill me, or just keep flirting?” She asked.
Resoria: “Honestly? I would prefer to keep flirting.” She answered with a laugh.
Selenia: “…”
Cirilia: “Do you have any final words, Paladin Rem?” She asked, seemingly being the only one wanting to be serious in this situation.
Rem: “Please do not call me a Paladin. I’ve lost that right. Now, my only request is for you three to kill the current leader of the Table. He has ruled it for a long time, and the corruption and evil that he breeds gets worse by the day.” She answered with a bow.

Oh? A conspiracy? How spicy! Now I want to keep Rem alive even more. They seem calm, but Resoria and Cirilia are truly itching to finally kill Rem. All because she kidnapped me. How funny and cruel…
Selenia: “Can we just not kill her?” I suggest.
Resoria: “Did you fall in love with her as well!? Cirilia, we have to kill Rem right away!” She yelled.
Cirilia: “Right. We can’t have another girl after Selenia’s heart!” She quickly agreed.
Rem: “…”
Resoria and Cirilia rushed over to Rem and started fighting her. Within seconds, Rem was plastered with various wounds. Even with the freshly blessed Resoria, Rem couldn’t keep up. That just proves how overpowered of an existence blessed people are…
Selenia: “I haven’t fallen for her! If you two don’t stop right FUCKING now, I will be beyond furious!! Just fucking listen to me already!!!” I yell in an annoyed tone.
Rem: “…”
Resoria: “…”
Cirilia: “…”
Awa… that yell of mine seems to have worked. Why was it so effective? Oh, shit… I think that I used too much power in the yell. I just realized that forest animals and various birds just ran for their life… Oops?
Selenia: “Listen, Rem is needed for us.” I say with a calm tone.
Resoria: “Needed? She must really have seduced you… Right now, all she needs is to die!” She yelled, pointing her sword at Rem’s neck, about to lift it and sever her head.
Selenia: “Stay your blade at this very instant, or I will never have sex with you in this life, Princess Resoria Sooven!!!” I yell with a furious tone.
Resoria: “…”
At my words, Resoria tossed her blade away like it was some evil and disgusting bug. Really? That threat was what worked?… It truly seems that this woman really, really wants to have sex with me… I didn’t think the sex threat would work. I was more of hoping that the mom trick of calling someone by their full name would work instead…
Cirilia: “Selenia, what do you mean?” She asked, still holding her sword at Rem.
Selenia: “Are you joking? Paladins can’t measure up to us, but they’re very strong and skilled. Having Rem on our side would be a huge boon. Not to mention, if we help her kill the current leader of the Table, then we will have the new leader of it owing us a big favor that we can cash in at some point.” I explain.
Cirilia: “She isn’t a Paladin anymore, though. How can she take it over?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Resoria: “…If she can prove that she was set up, she can reclaim her Paladin-ship. That would honestly work, especially if we vouch for her.” She said with a thinking pose.
Selenia: “See? In this case, keeping Rem alive will be really helpful for when we take over the Empire, right?” I say with a smile.
Rem, seeing how I have actually almost convince the two crazed women, got on her knees.
Rem: “Please! I beg of you to listen to Princess Selenia! I swear that I will always be loyal to you three. Regardless of what evil you commit in the future, I will not seek you three out at all. In fact, I will help as much as I can.” She pleaded with her head on the head.
Cirilia: “…”
Resoria: “…”
Selenia: “So? We’re keeping her alive, right?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Shit… I can’t tell if they agree or not. Their expressions still aren’t good at all. They still look like I am their dear wife that Rem kidnapped and laid their hands on… Sorry, Rem… I did my best to try and save you…
Resoria: “Rem… Put your hands on the ground forward.” She demanded.
Rem: “Why?…” She asked with a confused tone.
Cirilia: “Selenia is safe, but blood must be spilled for what you did.” She answered in Resoria’s stead.
Rem: “Very well…” She agreed.
Selenia: “Wait…” My words didn’t reach them in time.
Resoria had already picked up her sword again, and Cirilia still had hers. At the same time, like they rehearsed this, they stabbed their swords into Rem’s hands. Their stabs were quick, but I highly doubt that it was painless.
Resoria: “Remember this for the next time you try to hurt our Selenia.” She threatened.
Cirilia: “The payment won’t be as easy as it was this time, Rem.” She said with a cold tone.
Before I could complain about what they did, Resoria threw a healing potion to Rem from her pouch. Healing potions exist in this world, but are very expensive. It was far more easy to find someone that can use healing magic than just buying one potion would be.
Resoria: “Selenia, let us get back to our travels.” She said with a smile, picking me up like a child.
Selenia: “…”
Rem downed the potion, which quickly healed her stab and other minor wounds, and then hurried after us. Well… it wasn’t as perfect as I wanted, but at least Rem survived this. I can’t say the same about that current Table leader in the future, though. Heh…
