Chapter 27 Surprise Guest!
(Selenia’s POV)
I feel like I ended up sleeping for a few days, as I was absolutely starving when I woke up. As I sat up in bed, I rubbed my eyes. After letting out a yawn, I saw that someone else was in the room. Oddly, it was Cirilia…
Cirilia: “Did you have a good rest, Selenia? You slept for three days straight.” She asked with a warm tone.
Selenia: “Cirilia? Ah, yeah, I did get some sleep. You can’t blame me for sleeping so long, as I took on an entire army alone.” I reply with another yawn.
Cirilia: “No ding…” She said with a surprised tone.
Selenia: “You brought that bell with you?” I ask with a sigh.
Cirilia: “Of course. This isn’t a friendly visit, after all.” She replied.
Selenia: “Huh? Please don’t tell me that I am being court-martial…” I ask with a nervous tone.
Cirilia: “You absolutely are, Selenia. On your own, you waged a war without any permission at all. Not to mention, you’re just a Private.” She said with a scolding tone.
The heck? Fucking assholes… Just because they didn’t give me permission, they’re mad about this? I just fucking save Sooven from going through starvation… And now I will be repaid by getting sent to court!? I might need to do some killing at home…
Cirilia: “Private Selenia, this is a very serious matter. I refuse to believe that you did this all alone.” She said with a serious tone.
Selenia: “But I did fight alone, not counting my soldiers. Though, besides at the border, they didn’t actually fight at all.” I answer.
No ding. Oh? So half-truths aren’t detected? That is useful knowledge to know about…
Cirilia: “You’re just a child. How did you achieve this?” She asked.
Selenia: “The same way you’ve moved up in the world. I was blessed by the Goddess of War, Marika, same as you.” I reply with a shrug.
Cirilia: “…”
Once again, the cute bell didn’t make any noise. This thing is only really good if the interrogator is good at their job. And Cirilia is, she is just oddly not asking the right questions at the moment. I wonder why?
Cirilia: “…When and why did Marika bless you? I doubt that she would bless you just because of that outpost that you destroyed…” She asked with a curious tone.
Selenia: “Her eyes were probably on me after that, but the reason she blessed me is just because I killed king Albert.” I answer with a nonchalant tone.
Cirilia: “That was you!?” She exclaimed in shock.

With a giggle, I recalled to her the story of when I killed a king. Ah, not counting the one that just killed a few days ago… When I mentioned that Albert unfortunately assaulted me before I could kill him, Cirilia got decently upset. We don’t know each other well, but it feels nice for her to get upset about it for me.
Cirilia: “This is a problem, Selenia.” She said with a sigh.
Selenia: “Which problem?” I say with a head tilt.
Cirilia: “Sooven isn’t the one that court-martialed you, but the Alwessal Empire did. Frankly, even with their pride, Sooven’s king and military leaders wanted to promote you. But the empire stepped in, and they want you executed.” She explained.
Selenia: “What the hell!? Why would they execute me? Without Tarina’s crops, Sooven would have starved in just a few short years… What do they even gain from Sooven being destroyed?” I ask with a shocked tone.
Saya: “I can answer that one, Selenia.” She said with a giggle.
Leaning on my window was Saya in an assassin’s getup. Huh? This is like, the fourth floor of the castle… How the hell did she even make it up this high? Does Saya know magic, or something?…
Cirilia: “And who the hell are you?” She yelled after taking her sword out.
Saya: “Take it easy. I am just a friend of Selenia’s. You see, Albert was my target, but Selenia got to him first.” She calmly explained.
Cirilia: “…”
Selenia: “Saya, why does the empire want me dead?” I ask with a serious tone.
Saya: “Because the war is a game.” She replied.
Cirilia: “That answers nothing…” She said with an annoyed tone.
Saya: “The Alwessal Empire agreed to let that random group of kingdoms take over Sooven. In return, they wouldn’t restrict crops from Tarina. But now Selenia ruined that deal, and everyone is pissed off.” She explained.
Selenia: “Fuck… This is why I hate politics…” I say with an annoyed sigh.
Oddly, Cirilia took Saya to the corner of the room, and they had a secret conversation. Even if I wanted to eavesdrop, I couldn’t hear them at all. I hate secrets… What were they even talking about? Their conversation lasted for ten minutes as I continued to sit down on my bed.
Cirilia: “Selenia, thankfully, no one knows what you look like. Only Radahn and I do, and the soldiers oddly sworn complete secrecy with anything regarding you.” She said with a smile.
Selenia: “Cirilia, where exactly is this going?” I ask with a nervous tone.
Saya: “We’re going to fake your death!” She exclaimed.
Selenia: “…”
And how the hell will my death be faked!? No, wait… In this kind of world, it wouldn’t be that hard to fake your death. Not to mention, like they said, no one knows about my appearance, and even Radahn hasn’t spread my name at all. Some military staff do know my name, such as Cirilia’s Commander, but it’s not like Selenia is an uncommon name.
Cirilia: “Even with your death faked, I will still have to take you somewhere else.” She advised.
Selenia: “I can’t go back to Radahn’s fort?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Cirilia: “Not at all. It would make faking your death pointless. Instead, I know a perfect place to take you. And don’t worry, you can get all the achievements you want, and no one will complain.” She said with a confident tone.
The plan was very simple. Cirilia will report that I resisted capture, and she ended up killing me in a fight. The body would just be that of a random child. No. We won’t kill a child for this plan, as plenty of children die all the time in the slums of this city. Wait… slums?…
Selenia: “Oh, shit! I forgot about Hani!” I say after jumping out of my bed.
Saya: “Hold on, Selenia! My guild already took her in.” She said after stopping me from leaving the room.
Selenia: “What? Saya, I refuse to let your group use her like a tool!” I say with an angry tone.
Saya: “Hani will be very helpful, and we have no intentions of treating like a slave. She will be given amazing treatment, as just like you, she is very smart. You seem to have a good eye for people, Selenia.” She explained.
Selenia: “I guess?” I reply with a sigh.
After that, I went to take a bath, Saya, Cirilia and I, then all ate some breakfast. I was given a cloak, and then we flew off from the castle on Semi, Cirilia’s dragon. She needed to go report of my false death, and then she would fly me to my next home. As I look at the kingdom that I just conquered in vain, I let out a long and annoyed sigh…
