Chapter 76: Did they Leave This for me?…

(Selenia’s POV)

Once down from the ladder, I found myself facing a terrible monster. Not in the sense of something in this fantasy world. But a monster in the sense of some fleshy, manmade, grotesque creature… It was some space horror out of de_d sp_ce…

Creator: “Roar!” It yelled.

Selenia: “…”

Dana: “…”

Why does it sound like a lion? It certainly doesn’t look like one. Instead, it was practically impossible to make out any form of comparison for this thing. This creature was just a mass of living, disgusting flesh.

Selenia: “You greatly disgust me… die.” I say with an annoyed tone, flicking my wrist.

Using one of Zella’s secret lost magics, gravity magic, I pushed the creature to the wall until it made a very satisfying crunching sound. Losing all resistance and movement, the thing was dead then and there.

Selenia: “Was… do you think that any of your friends were turned into a monster like that?” I ask.

Dana: “Unlikely. Our bodies aren’t allowed to be defiled like this. The spirits would just mercy kill us. And if we were to be turned into something like this… then we would have our bodies explode.” She quickly denied.

Selenia: “I see… Well, good for them. Being turned into something like this would be worse than death.” I reply.

Dana: “Yeah, that is certain.” She agreed.

Selenia: “Shall we explore this place, then? I am curious to as where my wives are.” I ask.

Dana: “For your sake, I do hope that you’ve been telling me the truth this entire time.” She agreed with a sigh.

An Hour Later.

Exploring this place… it was odd. That’s really all that I can say about it. Apart from the various flesh creatures that we came across, we found many human bodies as well. Looking at them, they were not killed by these creatures.

Dana: “Did your wives kill them?” She asked.

Selenia: “I would assume so. Zella hates when people experiment on living beings with souls. She most likely tortured these people to death.” I reply.

Dana: “And what of these creatures? Why have they been let loose?” She asked.

Selenia: “Most likely, it was done as a way to hunt these people down using their own creations.” I answer.

Dana: “…How fitting of an end for them, then.” She said with a scoff.

It was good that Dana seemed to have no problems with my wives killing these people. Though, in my opinion, these people lost their humanity long ago. Killing them now was just putting down some sick animals.

Wow… so edgy. I hate that you can never say things like this without sounding like an over the top edgelord… Whatever. Dana and I continued to explore the lab, finding more and more horrors as we went along.

It wasn’t any way hard at all to find our way. Why? Because… painted in blood on the walls, were directions written by my wives so that I could find them. So… this really was intentional. Did they not plan to let me dominate them?…

Some Time Later.

Researcher: “Thank God you’re here! Please save me!!!” He pleaded.

Selenia: “…”

This man was waiting, or rather, hiding underneath a research table. Since he was still alive, it seemed that such a method of surviving was successful. How annoying.

Without responding to the man, Dana went up to him and cut his hand off. As she dismembered the man while he was still alive, with him screaming all the while, I watched until she was done. The man was dead, cut into various pieces.

Dana: “Sorry that you had to see me do that.” She said with a remorseful tone.

Selenia: “I’ve seen worse, don’t worry. Besides, I understand why you did this.” I reply with a shrug.

The man had locked himself in the room, and only my strength was enough to unblock the door. There really wasn’t any way for those creatures to get inside. So his only threat was starving to death.

The reason for Dana giving this man a very cruel and slow death? Upon various examination tables… were the dissected bodies of elves. They, obviously, were the bodies of Dana’s friends…

Looking at the corpses, I felt very bad. I figured that they wouldn’t be alive, just as Dana expected as well. But to see them in such a state… It wasn’t anything nice to witness. Cut up like a frog in a science experiment…

Dana: “We should block the room once more. When we find your wives… then we will come back for their bodies.” She suggested.

Selenia: “I am sorry about this, Dana. If you need a shoulder to cry on, I am willing.” I say with a warm tone.

Dana: “…Thanks for the offer, but I prefer to wallow in sorrow on my lonesome.” She denied with a forced smile.

Selenia: “I understand… I cannot bring them back to life, but I can restore dignity to their bodies.” I offer, to which Dana agreed.

Using healing magic, the various cuts, spilled out organs, cut off limbs, etc. All returned to the bodies of the five elves. Now, they were just peaceful bodies. This state is far better than before, and Dana thanked me for it.

Selenia: “I can store their bodies as well, so there is no need to come back for them, okay?” I suggest.

Dana: “…Such magic shouldn’t be known anymore… But in this situation, I know that you wouldn’t be joking around. Please do so. I… I would like to bury them once we leave this horrible place.” She said with a sad tone.

Selenia: “Okay.” I say with a nod.

Going over to each body, I put them into my storage. Of course, they will still decay. But the change won’t be that much by the time that we leave this place. After all, it was very sanitary, and the bodies hadn’t started to decay yet.

Now, Dana had a very sad and grim aura surrounding her. That is the aura of someone who wants revenge. Should… should I intervene in her life? If I do, Dana will have to be there when I kill Minister Zaid. I, oddly, don’t find a problem with that. In a certain sense, Dana has more of a reason to kill Zaid than we do.
