Chapter 34: Maid Talk.
(Selenia’s POV)
August seemed to have made his people really hate his guts. Despite me killing a whole fuck ton of their people, the maids of this castle treated me like a pretty princess. And the butlers treat me with great respect. I think that only the military had any respect for their king…
I was currently still soaking in a bath. The maids were quite giggly, saying how nice it was to wash such a pretty girl as I am. I felt super embarrassed, as I am a lesbian, but the maids clearly didn’t mean it that way. Either way, it was nice to have cute maids clean my body.
Hemi, the maid that tried to kill me earlier, is the only one in the bath with me at the moment. No. She isn’t taking a bath with me, she is just here. I think that she is curious about me…
Selenia: “Can I help you, Hemi?” I ask.
Hemi: “I don’t know if you can yet.” She replied with an unsure tone.
Selenia: “Does the guild need help with something?” I assume.
Yeah… That would reward me with a knife to my neck. But at least I know that Hemi actually is from the guild. As for why she is here, I have no idea. Saya didn’t inform me about her at all.
Hemi: “How did you figure out that I work for the guild?” She asked with a serious tone.
Selenia: “You’re similar to Saya, so I just assumed as such.” I reply with a nonchalant tone.
Hemi: “Saya? What is your connection to her?” She asked.
Selenia: “Friends, I would say. Saya is also my contact to the guild.” I answer.
Hemi: “…”
She put her knife away, and Hemi looked to be lost in thought. As for me, I decided to start swimming around the bath. It was pretty big, and I doubt that I will be able to enjoy such a thing anytime soon. As such, I wanted to make the most out of this bath!
Hemi: “Selenia, why is Saya helping you?” She asked with a curious expression.
Selenia: “I want to take over the Alwessal Empire. Saya and the guild believes that I can achieve this goal, so they help me out. For instance, this take over was a plan by Saya.” I explain.
Hemi: “…And, can I also get in on this group?” She asked.

Selenia: “Sure. Just follow me back to my fort to meet Saya. Ah, she might come here soon, actually.” I reply with an unsure tone.
With her question answered, I once again took a lap around the pool… I mean, bath. This damn place could fit at least fifty people in it. I would ask what the point of such a big bath is, but unlike those giant useless doors, having a big bath is very nice.
Hemi: “May you satisfy my curiosity?” She asked.
Selenia: “That would depend on what you’re curious about.” I reply.
Hemi: “Originally, I was going to ask you to join the guild. But you already have access to it, so there is no point. Now, my only question is how you managed to survive.” She explained.
Selenia: “I don’t know if you’re on my side completely, so I can’t, or rather, don’t want to answer your question.” I reply.
Hemi: “…”
Her face went through various expressions, and it seemed that she was in a fight with herself. My bet is that she is struggling to decide if she should partially betray the guild and join my side. I mean, Saya is pretty much already in my camp.
Hemi: “You’ve already explained so much, but this secret of yours requires me to side with you, right?” She assumed.
Selenia: “That is correct, yes.” I reply.
Hemi: “Very well. I, Hemi, denounce my loyalty to the guild. From henceforth, I will only be loyal to you, Selenia.” She said with a serious tone and with a bow.
Selenia: “Good. You know, Saya vowed the same to me just a little while ago.” I say with a laugh.
Hemi: “…”
If I stayed in the bath any longer, I would turn into an old prune, so I told Hemi that I would answer her question later. Much to her word, she dried me off without any complaints. On top of that, she even dressed me. As for why August had clothes that would fit me within his castle, I have no idea…
Hemi: “August was a terrible ruler, but he wasn’t a pervert, Selenia.” She said with a giggle.
Selenia: “Then why are these clothes here? I don’t recall August having any heirs.” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Hemi: “The situation outside the castle isn’t the best, so he allowed the families of his maid’s and butler’s to live in the castle. One of the maids donated one of their daughter’s dresses to you, as your original dress was covered in blood.” She explained.
Selenia: “Ah, I see.” I reply.
Along the way to my new temporary bedroom, I came across many of the employees of this castle. They acted as if I was their savior, and I guess that I am to some extent… Once in my room, Hemi practically begged me to answer her earlier question.
Selenia: “Alright. Seeing you beg like a cat is too cute for me to keep you hanging any longer.” I say with a hearty laugh.
Hemi: “Then, will you please explain your success? It is surely impossible for you to kill almost 5000 soldiers without so much as getting a single scratch after killing them…” She replied with an excited tone.
Selenia: “I am blessed by the Goddess of War, Marika. That should be more than enough of an answer, right?” I answer with an oddly proud tone and expression.
Once I said that, Hemi got onto her knees and bowed to me. Ah, right… I forgot that the blessed people in this world are super revered. I need to not be so ready to reveal such things to others in the future…
Selenia: “Rise already… I don’t want you to worship me, Hemi.” I say with a slightly annoyed sigh.
Hemi: “Ah, of course! Sorry…” She replied before standing up.
Selenia: “Now that you know what kind of person you’ve backed, do you have any regrets?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Hemi: “Absolutely not! Why, to say that I’ve served a blessed person, that would be one of the most amazing things ever.” She said with a proud tone.
Selenia: “…”
Great… Now just like my soldiers, Hemi looks at me like I am some queen… Well, I will be a queen one day. So I guess that I have to get used to this kind of treatment. I waved Hemi away, and then I laid onto my bed. I was quite tired, so I fell asleep somewhat fast.
