Chapter 75: Oddly Quiet Town…
(Selenia’s POV)
After walking for around an hour, Dana and I came across the town. The outside was… it wasn’t any good to look at. Not to mention, the place felt dead as can be. Like an old abandoned western frontier town…
Selenia: “Hey… we won’t find any undead here, right? I hate dealing with those things.” I ask nervously.
Dana: “The undead are just that, a dead end. There really isn’t any reason to experiment with such things.” She denied.
Selenia: “…”
Dana: “Rather than undead, you should be prepared to see some kind of horrible manmade monstrosities.” She said with a serious tone.
Well, at least it won’t be zombies again. Regardless of my power, as a person from a modern world, I have no love for the undead. The very idea of getting bitten and turned into a zombie is still a fear of mine.
Walking into the town, we saw no living beings at all. The houses were shacks, without any lights coming from them. And, I doubt that’s because the sun is still out. I can’t sense anything living here so far…
Dana: “From what I’ve heard, the place where he experiments is underground. As for why the town was empty, he seemed to have run out of test subjects to use. He keeps them here in this town.” She explained as we walked.
Selenia: “Underground? How unsafe.” I reply with a sigh.
Dana: “…”
Selenia: “…”
Dana: “Aren’t you worried about your wives?” She asked with a curious tone.
Selenia: “Nope, not at all. Knowing them, they already knew of this place and just came here for fun. After all, they’re well aware that Minister Zaid wishes to kidnap and experiment upon me, for some damn reason.” I reply.
Dana: “…”
Selenia: “What I am worried about… is that I am wondering if Minister Zaid is here in this town.” I say with a side glance around the town.
Dana: “Besides being stupidly evil, he is just a normal human. Though, he keeps a blessed being by his side most of the time, so I understand why you’d be worried.” She said with a thinking pose.
Selenia: “Huh? Ah, I plan to kill that blessed being as well. I am actually just worried that my wives will kill Minister Zaid before I get the chance to do so myself.” I say with a giggle.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Dana: “…”
Uh-uh… Speechless. Good. Not that I find her annoying, or anything. At the very least, I am a bottom for my wives. But I do still find it very fun to tease girls, just as I mentioned. I have no intentions of marrying Dana; she is just fun for me to tease. Elves are made to be teased, you know?
In silence, we continued to explore the town, to no avail. We couldn’t find anything that would be a lab, or an entrance to one. And it didn’t help that this place is decently big, with many, many buildings.
Selenia: “Oh, well…” I say with a sigh.
Dana: “What’s wrong?” She asked.
Selenia: “I am just torn up that I have to destroy all of these buildings.” I reply.
Dana: “…That isn’t a funny joke, Selenia.” She said with a groan.
Before she could react, I used fire magic of the highest level to burn down each and every building. As my wives and I share a connection, I can tell that none of them are in these buildings. So it won’t matter if I destroy them.
Dana: “…”
Sitting down and then patting the log that I sat on, to gesture for Dana to sit down, we watched as the evil town burned all the way to the ground. Much to my entertainment, but much to Dana’s horror. Soon, it was nothing but ashes.
Dana: “You… You can use such magic?” She asked with a nervous expression.
Selenia: “Taught by the ancient witch herself, Zella. And… all of my wives can use magic as well. Frankly, all of my wives are far stronger than me. Much to my chagrin.” I answer.
Dana: “The longer I am with you, the more and more that I believe your story. But you being married to Zella is completely a lie. I know this for a fact!” She said with a pout.
Selenia: “That so? Then… why don’t we make it a bet?” I propose.
Dana: “A bet? Sure. If Zella actually is your wife, she won’t be, and she will have to confess to being your wife for you to win, then I will lick your foot.” She said with her arms crossed.
Selenia: “I agree, but change the reward.” I reply.
Dana: “Ha! Too afraid to lose? I swear that I will clean my foot beforehand.” She said with a smug tone.
Selenia: “Nope. But we should change the reward to something not sexual.” I deny.
Dana: “…Ah, right, sorry… Then, if I win, then you’ll go on a date with me. As for if you win, then I will do anything that you ask of me. Nothing sexual, mind you.” She proposed.
Selenia: “Okay, I’ll agree to those terms.” I say with a nod.
Dana: “Good. Now, what should we do now?” She asked.
Selenia: “Of course, look around the smoldering town for any signs of an entrance to Zaid’s lab.” I answer, jumping off of the log and heading back into the town.
I did make sure to not let the fire burn any of the plant life or trees that are surrounding this town. That is just how much controlled over magic that Zella seared into my head after countless lessons from her…
Some Time Later.
Dana: “I think that this is the entrance!” She exclaimed.
Selenia: “Really?” I reply, going over to where she pointed out.
In the shitiest building, one that we didn’t bother to look in, was a hatch. The hatch sorta looked sci-fi-ish, but I knew better than to think that Zaid was some time traveler. Instead, the metal was just of the rarest and most expensive on the market.
Anything made with it looks futuristic, such as our swords. Of course, my wives wouldn’t let me use anything cheap, so all of my weapons are made from this metal.
That being said… it would take an absolute fortune to build an entire large lab from this metal. Minister Zaid really took being a corrupt official to the extreme…
With a sigh, and as the hatch was already opened, probably by my wives, Dana and I went into it. I went first, as Dana fully recognized that I was stronger than her. Much to my displeasure, the inside was annoying…
