Chapter 41: You'd try to rob a Princess!?
(Selenia’s POV)
After traveling for a few more days, the carriage made an unplanned stop. Looking at Cirilia and Resoria, this wasn’t on the itinerary.
Selenia: “Why did we stop?” I ask.
Resoria: “I don’t know… We should be at least two hours away from any town or village.” She replied.
Cirilia: “…I smell blood.” She said with a serious tone.
Taking a whiff myself, I realized that she was right. Resoria, not being blessed like us, couldn’t detect the faint scent of blood. But Cirilia and I could. I made sure my sword was ready, and so did Cirilia.
Selenia: “Stay inside, Resoria. We will go check it the situation outside.” I advise.
Resoria: “Okay… Just be careful.” She advised.
With a nod to Resoria, I left the carriage with Cirilia. Both of us are pretty well rounded warriors, so whatever awaits us won’t be that big of a deal. Outside, the driver had an arrow stuck in his throat. He was already dead. Despite being maids, the five that came with us were still alive and well. So were the knights.
The maids fought with daggers and throwing knives, while the knights defended the carriage with their swords. Why didn’t we hear anything from inside the carriage? This is a miniature war going on out here…
Cirilia: “The carriage blocks out most sounds from the outside using magic. Which is why we didn’t hear anything.” She explained without me needing to ask.
Selenia: “I mean, that is a good comfort feature, but it seems more like a liability. Especially in this case…” I reply with a sigh.
Cirilia: “Do you want to fight, Selenia?” She asked.
Selenia: “Of course. Why else would I follow you out?” I reply.
Cirilia: “Okay…” She wanted to say more, but my next words cut her off.
Selenia: “That was a trick reply. I mostly came out to make sure that you will stay safe.” I reply with a smile.
Cirilia: “…There is no point in trying to seduce me, Selenia. I have already fallen for you a long time ago.” She said with a laugh before drawing her sword.
I drew my sword as well. Surrounding us was an entire army of bandits. With how they fought, they weren’t knights in disguise. But with at least… two hundred bandits, this must be a targeted attack on us. Maybe because there are two princesses on this lightly guarded caravan?
Regardless of the reason, it was time once again for me to kill something. Ignoring the protests of the knights and maids, Cirilia and I ran forward. Quickly killing the distracted bandits that were fighting the knights and maids, before moving further back.
With a look at each other, we speechlessly realized our intentions. Since I was smaller than Cirilia, as in a smaller target, I decided to go after the bandits that were using bows and arrows. Cirilia went after the rest of them.

Not bothering to kill anyone in my way, I did inflict wounds on them with my sword. Some I even actually killed, since they got unlucky and flashed their necks to my willing sword. This sword was a gift from Resoria. She didn’t budge on telling me how much it cost, but judging how there hasn’t been a single nick or damage at all on it, I would say that’s its very expensive.
Something that you wouldn’t expect at all, is that dodging arrows that were out to end your life was actually somewhat fun and entertaining to a certain degree. The expressions of the archers getting more and more nervous were almost intoxicating to see…
Quickly getting to the first archer out of thirty, I dodged the panic sword attack that he did, before then slicing his throat. He flung his sword around randomly while clutching his throat. Soon, he lost too much blood, and then I did a quick jab, hoping to pierce his heart in the process.
He fell down dead, and now the rest of the archers were fully focused on me. Which left Cirilia to enjoy killing without worrying about random arrows trying to end her pretty life. Whoever the leader was, there were horrible at their job…
Bandit Leader: “Everyone! Focus on the smaller one!” He ordered.
His order was left unheeded, as Cirilia required the bandits full focus. They couldn’t spare to turn their attention away from her. They tried, but Cirilia reaped eight lives from their attempt to draw their attention to me.
An Hour Later.
About fifty bandits were left alive. Ah, as I have just beheaded the last archer, make that forty-nine bandits. With no one pesky archers to deal with, I went to go help Cirilia deal with the remaining few. Cirilia dressed up in an elegant dress, which was already beautiful, the lady herself was too, now being covered in blood, was oddly seductive.
People say that Cirilia is emotionless, if so, why is she smiling like an evil villain at the moment? Her blood-soaked face and body, as well as her clothes, was very arousing to me. Not mentioning her expression, which probably matched mine as well.
Soon, all that was left was just the leader of these bandits. The ground was littered with the bodies of bandits, as well as blood and gore. This looked more like a random colosseum, or something like that.
Cirilia: “Who hired you?” She asked while pointing her sword at the bandit leader’s neck.
Bandit Leader: “I…I don’t really know. I swear!” He replied.
Selenia: “I highly doubt that. Do you expect to live after this? Make no mistake, you will be dying here today. The difference is that if you tell us the truth, we will give you an easier death.” I say with a grim tone.
Bandit Leader: “The king of Alwessal Empire ordered it! I know that he is just a stupid kid being used, so I truly have no idea who was the real person who put out this hit.” He explained.
With a sigh, Cirilia beheaded the man without batting an eye. Which, of course, I found that to be very attractive thing of her to do. Clearly, my little faking my death ruse didn’t work as well as we thought that it would. But that is a problem for some other time.
As for right now, I was staring into Cirilia’s eyes, and she was staring into mine. Locked in an unmoving dance. I could tell that she wanted to kiss me, and I honestly wanted to kiss her as well. Bloodlust from the battle boiling over into normal lust…
Cirilia: “Selenia… can I kiss you?” She asked with a seductive tone.
Selenia: “Yes.” I reply.
As Cirilia bent down to give me a kiss, I closed my eyes. But no kissed reached my awaiting lips. When I opened up my eyes, there was a Resoria in front of me, pouting all the way to prevent our intimate action of kissing.
Resoria: “No kissing!!! I thought that we made a deal!?” She exclaimed with a pout.
Cirilia: “…Sorry. We got caught up in bloodlust, which ended up turning into normal lust.” She said with an embarrassed tone.
Resoria: “Right… What are you two going to do now?” She asked.
Selenia: “What do you mean?” I ask with a head tilt.
Resoria: “You’re both covered in blood and gore!” She exclaimed.
Selenia: “…”
Cirilia: “…”
Looking at myself, she was right. I was absolutely drenched in all manner of viscera. Now that the afterglow was over, I was kinda just disgusted. Luckily, one of the maids just so happened to know how to use cleaning magic. She was Resoria’s personal maid, Garnet.
After getting cleaned off, and before getting back in the carriage, I saw the knights moving the bodies out of the way of the path. Since we got a decent workout, we decided to eat dinner and go to bed early. The workout, as I will call it, made it easy for me to quickly fall asleep to dreamland.
