Chapter 50: I Lied...
(Selenia’s POV)
Walking is torture!!! Not to mention, we came across so many damn problems in just a few days of walking… Bandits, monsters, random people needing our help. You name it; it happened to us. This isn’t fun at all!!!
Selenia: “Can’t we just get a carriage in the next city?” I ask with a sigh.
Currently, Cirilia was giving me a piggyback ride. I might be a blessed person, but I am still a child. My legs have gone wobbly already. From what they told me, the next city is only a few hours away.
Rathe than just a few months, it might take us an entire year to make it to the academy. The pace was so damn slow, almost entirely due to me being a child still. I had to stop due to me being very tired, and that I needed to eat and use the restroom a lot…
Resoria: “It is still too dangerous to get a carriage, Selenia.” She denied.
Selenia: “Too dangerous!? I feel like us walking is still just as, if not more dangerous than if we took a carriage!” I say with a pout.
Even worse, Resoria already sent our carriage ahead to the academy. After all, it had all of our luggage and belongings in it…
Cirilia: “If someone is high up enough to find the route for our carriage, they can easily figure out the route for a random one we hire. Since we’re walking without a planned route, they can’t set up traps for us along the way like last time.” She explained in a calm tone.
Selenia: “But… I am holding us back… Why am I even so tired now? Before, I could easily workout for an entire day without getting tired at all…” I say with a sigh.
Rem: “That is my fault, Princess Selenia.” She said with a remorseful tone.
Selenia: “What do you mean?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Rem: “I didn’t give you enough food.” She replied.
Enough food? What the heck does that mean?… She fed me three damn meals a day. Of course, they were simple meals, but I had eaten probably far better than most people eat in a world like this one.
Resoria: “When was the last time that you had a full meal, Selenia?” She asked with a stern tone.
Selenia: “What do you mean by that? I ate meals with you at each time we stopped…” I reply with a confused tone.
Cirilia: “…You have nothing stored up, Selenia.” She answered.
Selenia: “You’re just confusing me more…” I say with a groan.
Rem: “Simply put, blessed people aren’t normal. They can eat a hundred meals in one sitting and gain no weight. But those meals are still stored up, and are used when needed. Which is why blessed people have so much energy to spare.” She explained.

Nooooooooo! I got that fucking stupid cliche, where I have to eat a bunch of food to continue to be amazing!!! Goddammit! This is too embarrassing… I already knew this, I did… I ate so many meals every day at Radahn’s fort, after all… I just tried to ignore it. Ah… my face is so red at the moment…
Resoria: “At the next city, we will stay for a few days. I wasn’t aware that Selenia was on empty this entire time. Cirilia, you and I should also eat a bunch, too.” She proposed.
Cirilia: “Before meeting you two and heading for the academy, I already ate a few hundred meals. I am only now starting to feel hungry. This makes sense, though. Without any food stored up, Selenia only has the energy of a child.” She said with a laugh.
As we continued walking, we were attacked. An arrow was aimed at Cirilia’s head. Probably thinking that I wasn’t a real issue. This also means that whoever is attacking us, they weren’t sent by the Alwessal Empire. Luckily, I caught the arrow in time before it could hit Cirilia in the head.
Jumping off of her back, I drew my sword and was then ready for a fight. Everything was… silent. Not a bird or animal could be heard at all. There was just the noise of leaves rustling in the wind. Now that I think about it, only Cirilia was attacked just now…
Woman: “Cirilia… to think that you would be so unguarded. Carrying a child? What use is that? It was annoying to figure out that you weren’t in that convoy, but at least I’ve found you now after waiting for so damn long.” She gloated.
The woman was holding a bow. Her blue hair was striking compared to her arrogant voice and expression. Who the hell is this person? It would seem that she knew Cirilia, somewhat.
Woman: “And why isn’t Semi here? Instead of flying on your majestic dragon, you’re walking on foot… How funny.” She said with a scoff.
Cirilia: “Hello, Aunt. What number of attempt on my life is this one?” She asked.
Woman: “I’ve lost count…” She replied with a grim tone.
Selenia: “…”
Without asking for help, Cirilia rushed over to fight the woman. Clearly, this wasn’t their first fight, and the woman was holding up even better than what Rem could achieve. But it is only a matter of time before the woman will lose to Cirilia.
Resoria: “Selenia, that is Cirilia’s aunt, Kerni. Before Cirilia showed up, she was the one who was going to inherit the Sarn family.” She explained.
Selenia: “Okay… but why are they fighting?” I ask with a curious tone.
Resoria: “The Sarn family has always held a tradition that if you can beat the current heir in a duel, then you will then become the heir. Of course, you have to be part of the Sarn family first.” She answered.
Selenia: “This doesn’t seem like a duel, though?” I reply.
Resoria: “It is. They have just fought enough times that they don’t bother to state that it is a duel beforehand.” She replied with a giggle.
Ah, so it wasn’t someone after my life? And what the hell do you mean a duel!? That arrow was clearly aimed with the express intent to end Cirilia’s life then and there… Huh… what?… Resoria… why are you picking me up?
Resoria: “Cirilia, we will go ahead to the city. Of course, we will stay at the most expensive inn. We’ll wait for you there.” She said while walking past Cirilia and Kerni, who were locked in a battle to the death.
Cirilia responded with a grunt, and then she went back to focusing on fighting her aunt. What kind of crazy world is this place? I was braced for a hardcore, low fantasy world. And my time at Radahn’s fort reinforced that idea. That was clearly wrong. This dimension was just as fantasy as those novels that I was obsessed with back in my previous life…
Selenia: “Shouldn’t we go help Cirilia?” I ask, struggling to escape Resoria’s hold on me.
Rem: “Duels shouldn’t be interrupted.” She flat out denied.
Resoria: “Kerni fully intends to kill Cirilia, but Cirilia won’t kill Kerni. On top of that, Cirilia has never lost to her. Despite being a normal, unblessed human, Kerni can fight with Cirilia for literal days.” She said with a laugh.
Selenia: “…”
Ah, at least it gives us a good reason to rest in the next city for a few days. Otherwise, the only reason to stop would be for me to eat a bunch of damn food… Cirilia, fight the good fight, so that I won’t feel embarrassed! What? She is my girlfriend, so I need some benefits from being in such a relationship. Right?…
