Chapter 55: So... How did it Happen?
(Selenia’s POV)
Without talking at all, we three made our way back to Velmet’s Inn. Well, I was still being carried by Resoria, so I was just along for the easy ride. Our clothes and bodies being covered in blood, very much assured that no one would try to bother us at all. Once back in our room, the cold aura coming off of the two slowly went away. Though, I think that was mostly due to us having separate baths to get clean, and having clean dresses on once more…
Selenia: “How was I kidnapped? I find it odd that such a thing happened while I was sleeping in such a secure inn.” I ask with a curious tone.
Velmet: “That would be my fault, Lady Selenia. As in, it was the fault of one of my employees.” She answered.
Selenia: “Huh? Why?” I reply.
Velmet: “Well…” Resoria cut her off.
Resoria: “A maid and offered to give you a bath while you were still sleeping. You were in a deep sleep, and you wouldn’t wake up no matter how many times that we tried to do so, after all.” She said with an angry tone.
Velmet: “Right. That maid had betrayed me for coin, and then gave Selenia to those soldiers outside the city.” She continued.
Selenia: “Ah, so that’s how it happened… I really want to stop being kidnapped again and again… After all, I am pretty skilled and strong.” I say with a groan.
Velmet: “This is my fault, so I will take responsibility for it.” She said with a serious tone.
Responsibility? What, is she going to kill herself or something? I can’t really fathom how she’ll repay us for this. All three of us are pretty rich and powerful. What are we really missing?
Selenia: “How will you repay us?” I ask with a curious tone.
Velmet: “You, Lady Selenia, can already stay in this Inn free of charge forever. I will extend this to Lady Resoria and Lady Cirilia as well. On top of that, I will investigate every maid and make sure that none of them will try to harm you in any way.” She explained.
Resoria: “Free? But what about all the coin that I’ve already given you?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Velmet: “Of course, you can have it all back.” She replied.
Resoria: “Hmm… No thanks. This will just be an extra, interest free bank for me.” She happily denied.
Velmet: “…”
With more apologies, Velmet soon left our room. Though, I still had questions for Cirilia and Resoria. How did they let this happen? Would they really just trust a random maid with my safety? I highly doubt it, so there must be a reason.
Selenia: “What were you two doing while I was being kidnapped?” I ask.

Cirilia: “…”
Resoria: “…”
Selenia: “???”
Resoria: “That maid… whoever she was, as Velmet surely killed her, planned it out perfectly.” She said with a frustrated tone.
Selenia: “What do you mean?” I ask with a head tilt.
Cirilia: “Before taking you away, the other maids started giving us massages. In that sense, we were both too distracted to notice you being kidnapped, and we only realized it after you were long gone.” She answered in Resoria’s stead.
Selenia: “Really? That is pretty funny.” I say with a laugh.
Cirilia: “…”
Resoria: “…”
It is funny to me, but not to them. Since they’re my wives, having me get kidnapped under their noses must be very upsetting. They aren’t upset with me, mind you. But with themselves. While they were relaxing and being pampered, I was kidnapped. Anyone would feel guilty about having this happen.
Selenia: “Don’t deprive yourselves of pleasure and comfort in the future. This was just an accident that we managed to luckily, and easily handle.” I say with a stern tone.
Resoria: “We know… Anyway, do you think that man will actually help us?” She asked.
Selenia: “It doesn’t matter if he does or not. Which is why I didn’t bother to get his name. If he does become my spy, then he will be very useful. If not, then he will just be someone that we will have to eventually kill off.” I reply with a shrug.
Cirilia: “I feel like the list of people that we have to kill keeps getting longer and longer.” She said with a laugh.
Is that a matter to laugh about?… Thinking about it, I wonder who has a larger kill count? Ah, it has to be Cirilia. Heh, that just makes her more attractive to me. Yeah, I agree that is a little odd. But please tell me that you don’t find the idea of having a wife who can and has killed countless of her enemies?
Selenia: “Well, regardless of how long the list will end up, we will kill them all in the end.” I say with a laugh of my own.
Resoria: “I recommend putting Minister Zaid on the highest part of the list.” She said with a serious tone.
Selenia: “Why? Because he wants to do insane experiments on me?” I say with a raised eyebrow.
Resoria: “Well… that, and the fact that he wants to marry Cirilia.” She answered.
Selenia: “???”
Cirilia: “Yes, Selenia. He has “graciously” offered to marry me when I come of age, which is just a year from now. Of course, I have no intentions of accepting the marriage, and my family is fully willing to fake my death to prevent it from happening.” She explained.
Selenia: “…”
Fucking what!? How many fucking damn kiddy lovers are in this Empire!? Well… this is like, the second one I’ve found out about. But having one of them is a problem. More than one of them is an extreme problem. Though, I do get that in this kind of world, 15 is the age where one is considered an adult… But that doesn’t matter at all!!! That man… Minister Zaid… I will have to torture him to death…
Selenia: “I would like to torture Minister Zaid to death. Would that upset any of you, or make you two think less of me?” I ask with a serious tone.
Resoria: “Selenia… I can’t believe what I am hearing…” She said with a shocked tone.
Selenia: “I…” Her next words cut mine off.
Resoria: “Not once in that confession did I hear that you would be inviting us to torture him to death together.” She said with a pout.
Selenia: “…”
Cirilia: “Yes, we will do it together. After all, I Minister Zaid does wish to marry me, and has for many years. As such, he has a debt to be repaid to me.” She agreed.
Selenia: “…”
Right… I forgot who these women are… Resoria was more subdued, but she wasn’t someone who would take someone hurting her family lying down. Come to think of it, why did she go along with her terrible husband for so long?… I was curious about it, so I asked this question to Resoria.
Resoria: “Oh, that? I was planning on killing him before the town was invaded. In fact, I was the one that led the man that killed him to our house.” She happily explained.
Selenia: “…Cirilia, Resoria, I swear that I will never EVER betray you two, okay?” I say with a serious tone.
Resoria and Cirilia: “We know.” They both say at the same time with smiles on their faces.
I mean, at this point, it was far too late to ever go against them. I can’t leave their side any longer, nor do I want to. And if I do, they will surely kill me in return, as they very well should. Of course, even if they betrayed me, I couldn’t do the same. I love them, but I am not as extreme as they are… Ah, of course, this conversation in my head will always stay as that, a conversation in my head. All hell would break loose if they heard me speak like this…
