Chapter 16: Plans.
(Selenia’s POV)
With Albert dead, the order to retreat and abandon Sooven was retracted. Radahn left for a few days, and when he came back, he returned with bad news. Once again, they refused to promote me…
Radahn: “Selenia, I will no longer hold you back. I will leak to you all of the plans we have, and you can come up with some way to gain a good reputation and achievements.” He said with a serious tone.
Selenia: “I will figure something out, surely, but why are they so against promoting me?” I ask with a curious tone.
Radahn: “Do you recall Lieutenant Cirilia Sarn’s of the military police?” He asked.
Selenia: “I do. I think that we ended up as friends, somewhat.” I reply.
Radahn: “She joined at nine years of age, and she quickly went up in rank. It should be mentioned that she was an orphan before being adopted by the Sarn family.” He said with a sigh.
Selenia: “Ah, so they already promoted a young person before? I am guessing that they don’t want a repeat.” I surmised.
Radahn: “Lieutenant Cirilia already has a lot of power, and she greatly increased the power that the Sarn family holds. Simply put, they would prefer you to die, rather than to be adopted into a powerful family, throwing the power balance out of order in the process.” He explained.
Selenia: “Radahn, I am very intelligent. I could easily revolutionize this entire world. They would really prefer my death over losing some face?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Radahn: “They truly would, Selenia. They even tried to get me to sign a document that stated that I could not adopt you.” He said with an annoyed tone.
Selenia: “Give me a list?” I ask.
Radahn: “What kind of list?” He asked with a confused tone.
Selenia: “A list of the people who don’t approve of me.” I reply with an evil grin.
Radahn: “…”
Radahn seemed hesitant, but he quickly wrote down the names of the people who he thinks are against me moving up in the world. Once done writing it, he looked unsure if he should give me the list, but he handed it to me in the end.
Selenia: “Great. Now I shall start planning on how I should kill these people…” I say with a thinking pose while looking at the list.

Radahn: “Selenia! Some of these people will be useful, I beg of you to not be rash…” He pleaded.
Selenia: “Radahn, I am just joking.” I reply with a giggle.
Radahn: “What?…” He said with a confused tone.
Selenia: “You do remember that I can’t read, right?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Radahn: “Ah… that’s right…” he said with an embarrassed laugh.
Once the joking was done, I asked Radahn to explain all the plans that he knew of. Now that Albert is dead, The Alwessal Empire plans to strengthen Sooven. Not! They don’t fucking plan to do anything at all… They just advised the military and the king of Sooven to protect their borders. Of course, without the empire’s help…
Selenia: “Radahn… Let me guess, the current ruler of Alwessal, is some kid that has evil people telling him what to do, right?” I guess with a sigh.
Radahn: “…That is a wonderful guess, Selenia. You’re right. The current king is just a twelve-year-old boy. He isn’t gifted like you or Lieutenant Cirilia. The ones behind him care not but for the kingdom they live in.” He answered.
Selenia: “Ah, so a once great empire is destined to fall due to greed? What fun…” I say with an annoyed tone.
Frankly, I didn’t have much that I could do in these times… Being a child, all I had was my smarts. Apart from that, I had nothing. While thinking of a plan, I asked Radahn to teach me how to fight. Despite his age, Radahn was crazy skilled and fast…
Hours Later.
Basically, the entire fort showed up to watch me spar with Radahn. As I was a child, Radahn didn’t use his strength to fight me. Instead, this spar was about teaching me how to fight with a sword, and a fight of skill. Radahn was fast, but I was oddly faster than him by a bit.
After a fight that lasted for hours, I won against Radahn. I was upset, as he clearly let me win. How else would I have won? Radahn was a full-grown adult, whilst I was a child. Hm? Why does Radahn have that kind of expression on his face?…
Radahn: “Selenia, you lack strength due to your age, but where the hell did you learn how to fight?” He asked with a confused tone.
Selenia: “Learn how to fight? But Radahn, this is the first time I’ve even picked up a sword, though?” I reply with a head tilt.
What was the big deal, anyway? I am sure that anyone could pick up a sword and do at least this much… right? Wait… everyone else, even Rana, also looked surprised… What the heck?…
Radahn: “…”
The End of The Day.
With my swordsmanship being shocking, it started an event where I was given weapon after weapon to try out. By my fourth weapon, a spear, which I have never EVER even held before, let alone used in a fight, I realized that something was off…
It didn’t matter what weapon was handed to me, I was damn near perfect when using them. This even extended to a fucking bow! I thought that I wasn’t given any cheats, but I clearly was given some odd innate knowledge of weaponry and how to fight…
Radahn: “…”
Back in my room, Radahn was once again bowing to me. Something that I don’t understand, was that everyone in the fort, even Rana, bowed to me as well. What the flying heck is the cause of all of this? Radahn didn’t answer my questions yet, as he seemed to be lost in thought.
While eating a meal, I continued to wait for an explanation of today’s events. I was even able to win in spars against every soldier that challenged me. Strength was my only problem, really. For the bow and arrow, with some struggle, I could ready an arrow, and then shoot. The crazy thing was that I could shoot as many arrows as I wanted, all in the same spot…
With time not being a requirement, I was even able to out-shoot the best archer in the fort, Radahn himself. I wish that I knew about my fighting skill before dealing with Albert, as I could have done him in without being assaulted… With a sigh, I shoved more food in my mouth as I waited for Radahn to explain this shit to me eventually…
