Chapter 15: Back to the Fort.
(Selenia’s POV)
Eventually, and after walking around for a while, I somehow ended up at the meeting point. Sometimes, even if you just fuck around, you will eventually succeed, I guess? Damn… that whole ordeal with Albert still pisses me the fuck off…
Yeah, I killed him, but I was still assaulted by him in the end. I thought that I could go back to before, where I didn’t really even have emotions, but I couldn’t. My father in this life went further than Albert did, but I for some reason feel miles worse than then…
Upon finding the slightly hidden carriage, I saw Radahn get out of the carriage with a smile on his face. As I got closer to him, the smile on his face quickly faded away. When I reached him, he fell to his knees. I didn’t lose my chastity, but I was still assaulted in the end. Will Radahn honor his agreement? No… I don’t want him to adopt me.
But then… what do I want? I… I want to rule this world. Not only that, but I want people to bow down to me. Not in fear or remorse, like what Radahn is doing, but out of respect. If I become a sheltered adopted child of Radahn, I doubt that I could achieve that… I wasn’t in a good mood, and even though it was rude, I just wordlessly got into the carriage.
Radahn saw what I did, so he got into the carriage as well. He ordered the driver to drive away, and we were off. Now that Albert is dead, the war should be somewhat halted. Frankly, even if Radahn didn’t ask me to kill him, I would have killed that horrible man someday… If I was older, then I could have easily dealt with him without using my body…
Radahn: “I…” He said, not being able to look me in the eyes.
Selenia: “Albert is dead, Radahn.” I reply without looking at him at all.
Radahn: “That’s not what I mean…” He replied.
Selenia: “Radahn, you will get me promoted, yes? I’ll have you know that this mission of my wasn’t even necessary. Although I beat her to it, there was already an assassin after Albert.” I ask with a serious tone.
Radahn: “I see… Clearly, I acted prematurely. And the cost was your innocence… This isn’t something that I can ever make up for, but I will try to do so for the remainder of my life. For a start, I will have you adopted into my family.” he vowed.
Selenia: “I don’t need you to adopt me, Radahn.” I say with a sigh.
Radahn: “Why not? Selenia… I swear that I will never ask you to do something like this ever again.” He said with a confused tone.
Selenia: “Albert was a sick man, that for some reason was left to run rampant. Radahn, there were thirty other girls there. I couldn’t let Albert touch them, so I made him look my way. Radahn, some of them, were dressed up in clothes that barely covered anything. Like their parents willingly sent them into the lion's den…” I explain.
Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Radahn: “I wasn’t aware that there were others…” He said with a shocked tone.
Selenia: “A beast like Albert was allowed to roam free, rather than being executed like he deserved. Radahn, I want change. I want to make my way up in the military, and then take this kingdom over. I cannot do that if I am your sheltered daughter.” I say with a serious tone.
Radahn seemed to be lost in thought. As for me, I just realized that I got blood all over this nice carriage… Oh, well. It’s not as fancy as the one that Albert sent, so I don’t feel that remorseful about it. Besides, the blood was mostly dried by now, so there wasn’t that much that got on the carriage, anyway.
Radahn: “I understand. From this point on, I am only loyal to Sooven in public, but in secret, my loyalty lies with you, Selenia.” He said with a serious tone.
Selenia: “You would forsake your kingdom for me, Radahn? For a girl who could barely kill a weak, perverted king?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Radahn: “I would, yes. I have served this kingdom for many years, but it has rarely ever served me. I am not petty or greedy, I just know that this kingdom doesn’t value me that highly. Clearly, the pullout of this kingdom was a ruse to trick Albert into tripping up.” He explained.
Selenia: “If it was a trick, then does that mean that you’ve been made?” I ask with a concerned tone.
Radahn: “I don’t think so, no. I never agreed with Albert's plan, and no one knows about it besides you and me.” He replied.
Selenia: “Are you sure that there aren’t any loose ends?” I ask.
Radahn: “Absolutely. For now, you should get cleaned up once we get back, and then focus on recovering. I will get you promoted, mark my words.” He said with a confident tone.
Selenia: “I hope that is the case, Radahn. Either I will be known as a failure, or the greatest ruler in history. Either way, it seems that you will be along for the ride.” I say with a laugh.
Radahn: “And with great pride, Selenia.” He said with a laugh of his own.
With Radahn’s loyalty secured, I have made it up the ladder of this world more. Now, I should focus on winning this stupid war… Why the fuck did they let Albert run free? It doesn’t make any sense, even with Radahn’s previous reasoning being that killing him wouldn’t matter…
And that doesn’t account for someone sending an assassin after him, either… Is this war being run by idiots? A bunch of barely connected kingdoms are waging war against the Alwessal Empire and yet, they’re let free to do so? Why? My best guess is that the Alwessal Empire is a bureaucratic nightmare at the moment, and it is hard to move people.
These thoughts carried me through the ride back to the fort. Radahn was silent the entire time, still most likely regretting asking me to kill Albert. Once at the fort, Rana ran up to me. Seeing what state I was in, she sent a death glare to Radahn.
Selenia: “I thought that only you and I knew of this?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Radahn: “I had to let her in on it as well, otherwise she threatened to tell anyone that would listen that you were gone on some secret mission.” He answered.
Rana: “That doesn’t matter right now! Selenia… what happened?” She asked with a concerned tone.
Selenia: “I killed a king, but lost something in return. That is all, Rana. Now then, could you please accompany me to take a bath?” I ask with a weak smile.
Rana went along with my suggestion, but she still looked as if she wanted to murder Radahn in his sleep. Because of that, I am sure that Radahn will have trouble sleeping for two reasons tonight, haha. Spending time with Rana in the bath was enough to lift my mood somewhat. Once again, she refused to let me sleep alone. Her breasts still make good pillows, so I fell asleep quickly.
