Chapter 43: Next Person That Stops us... Well, They Will die Harder!
(Selenia’s POV)
Luckily, and despite them being new perverts, Cirilia and Resoria kept their word. For a week, there was just a small amount of flirting. But nothing I couldn’t handle in the end.
We also didn’t get stopped again. Huh? Is that the sound of war that I am hearing?… Look, this can’t be considered me jinxing myself. I didn’t say it out loud, goddammit!!
Selenia: “Do you two think that it’s bandits again?” I ask.
Cirilia: “It might be.” She replied.
Resoria: “I can fight alongside you two now, right?” She asked with an excited tone.
Selenia: “…”
Cirilia: “Vetoed.” She denied.
Resoria: “Why!? I am blessed by the same Goddess! I can absolutely fight with you!” She exclaimed.
Selenia: “Cirilia, she should be okay in a fight.” I say with a confident tone.
Resoria: “See? Even Selenia agrees!” She said with a smile.
Cirilia: “You don’t have a weapon.” She replied.
Resoria: “I can simply borrow one from one off one of my knights.” She said, puffing up her chest.
Cirilia: “…You don’t have any experience at all.” She said with a serious tone.
Resoria: “Cirilia… Your excuses are just you clearly trying to hog the fun of fighting alongside Selenia. You’re just jealous that this isn’t something exclusive to you any longer.” She said with a confident tone.
Selenia: “Hey, that’s rude, Resoria! Cirilia isn’t thinking like that. She is just worried about you. Right, Cirilia?” I ask while looking at Cirilia.
Cirilia: “…”
Oh, come on! You were really doing that, Cirilia? You, a proud and acclaimed knight? Cirilia was really having a very childish fit, coming up with random excuses to as to why Resoria couldn’t fight with us… Ah… my respect for these women dwindles by the minute at this point…
Resoria: “My words have proven to be the truth.” She said with a smug expression and tone.
Selenia: “…”
Cirilia: “Resoria is right, Selenia. She might not have been in a fight before, but I have trained with her on occasion. Now that she is blessed, it is unlikely for her to get hurt, regardless of the opponent.” She admitted with some embarrassment.
Pretending this didn’t just happen, wow… I am doing that a lot lately… Anyway, us three got out of the carriage. What awaited us outside weren’t bandits at all. No, no, no!!! Fucking zombies!? Did that damn empire hire a necromancer to deal with us!?
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
Resoria: “To think that the empire would hire a necromancer to kill Selenia… That just pisses me off!” She yelled in annoyance.
Before I could stop her, Resoria stole a sword from one of the knights and then rushed to face the zombies. Luckily, she didn’t get injured at all. Are these the infectious kind of zombies?
Cirilia: “Selenia, these undead bites and scratches are deadly.” She informed.
Selenia: “Huh? Then why did we let Resoria go attack them!?” I exclaim, before running after Resoria, but I was stopped by Cirilia.
Cirilia: “Calm down. They’re dangerous just due to the fact that they’re rotting corpses. If you get scratched or bitten, you just need to wash the wound off thoroughly.” She explained.
Selenia: “Ah, okay. Thanks for explaining.” I reply with a smile.
Since they weren’t the kind that turns you into a zombie from contact, I rushed over to Resoria without being scared at all. Besides, they were the slow kind of zombies, too. Since they’re slow, it was very easy to dodge their attacks.
Using my sword, I cut the heads off of five zombies in just a few seconds. But they stood back up quickly, which confused the hell out of me… Did fucking zombie media lie to my face? Why did me cutting their heads off not kill them!?
Resoria: “Selenia, you have to pierce their hearts to kill these undead.” She advised.
Selenia: “Oh! Thanks!” I reply, before piercing the hearts of the zombies I beheaded.
Just like she said, once I pierced their hearts, they died. Stupid me… Zombie media didn’t lie at all. It was just that these weren’t virus zombies, but instead, they’re magic ones. I guess that it is more due to the soul, rather than their brain, or something?
Whatever the reason why we need to destroy their hearts to kill them, wasn’t important at the moment. Around us was an entire army of undead. No, really! There were at least a few hundred of them…
Hours Later.
Now, even after we have killed over five hundred zombies, the numbers didn’t let up at all. How the heck are we supposed to deal with this? Not only are all of us beyond tired, but our knights and maids are already out of commission, so we have to protect them now as well.
Selenia: “What the hell do we do? There doesn’t seem to be an end to this damn undead army…” I ask, after piercing another zombie’s heart with my sword.
Resoria: “The fact that more keeps showing up means that there is a necromancer active around this area still.” She replied.
Cirilia: “Selenia, go find the necromancer. Resoria and I will protect everyone.” She ordered.
Selenia: “Is it because I am the smallest one here?” I ask.
Cirilia: “Yes and no. On top of being a small target, you’re also the fastest one here.” She replied, dodging the attack of a zombie.
With a nod, I left the main group. Oddly, I could sort of “feel” where this damn necromancer was hiding. Less than a mile away, was a cloaked man hiding behind the treeline. Various magic circles surrounded him, painted on the ground.
He was chanting something, and once the chant was over, the magic circles all lit up. Out of the circles came well over fifty new zombies, to add to this army of the undead. Ah, so that’s where they came from… Are they from Hell, or something?
The man didn’t notice me at all, as I made sure to be as quiet as possible. Sneaking behind him, and taking a page out of how to kill a zombie, I pierced his heart with my sword. The man spit up black blood, and then died.
Those magic circles vanished, and so did the zombies he summoned. On my way back, I realized that all of the zombies vanished as well. Even the ones that we already killed. The unmoving corpses, I mean…
Selenia: “I killed the necromancer.” I say with a peppy tone.
Resoria: “Good job!” She praised as she rubbed my head.
Cirilia: “Yes, now we don’t have to deal with those undead.” She said with a smile.
Before I could blush from their praise, both Resoria and Cirilia grabbed my hands. The strength they put into their grip told me that I couldn’t escape whatever they wanted to do with me. They carefully guided me back inside the carriage.
Selenia: “What’s up?” I ask with a head tilt.
Resoria and Cirilia: “Strip.” They both say, oddly at the same time, and with the same tone.
Selenia: “…”
What!? Don’t tell me that this fight got them all hot and bothered? Oh, Goddess… They’re taking my clothes off, and their eyes are scary… Oh, no! My purity!!! My Goddess, please save your dear virgin girl!!!…
