Chapter 54: Yet Another Assassination...
(Selenia’s POV)
When I woke up from my deep sleep, I let out a satisfied yawn. My good mood quickly turned sour, as my situation was bad… I was on some carriage, and my hands were tied behind my back, and my legs were bound as well. What the fuck? I got fucking kidnapped… again!!!
Luckily, this time, the ropes that bound me weren’t that magical rope that Rem once used on me. With ease, I quietly broke out of my restraints like they were made out of paper. Looking around, I was in a very cheap ass carriage, and the driver wasn’t aware that I escaped.
The man wasn’t normal, that much I could tell. But when faced with a blessed person, did such a thing really matter? As such, I quietly approached him and unsheathed the knife from his side. Using the knife, I slit his throat, and then I stabbed it into his head. Unlike when I did this before, I had the strength to remove the knife from his skull.
Pushing the useless corpse off of the driver’s seat, I manned the reins and turned the carriage around. Once I turned around, I could see that it was about to be midday, and I could still see the walls of that city. So I didn’t get taken far away just yet.
As I got closer to the city, I saw a blockade of various knights. Now that I think about it, that man I killed was wearing a knight’s outfit as well. Once they saw the carriage that they sent me off on coming back, they attacked right away. Sending arrows flying toward me.
Dodging them was easy for me to do, but the horses weren’t so lucky. Soon, they were riddled with arrows, and they died, sending the carriage in a dangerous course to destruction. Before it could fall with me in it, I jumped off the carriage.
Now, facing an entire army of more than five hundred, all I had was a single fucking knife… Looking at the city, I could see soldiers lining the walls. Those should be controlled by Velmet. Oh? And with my enhanced vision, I could see Resoria and Cirilia on the walls as well. Velmet was holding them back.
Good, good. Now I don’t have to worry about them. I shall give them a show that we will make them fall in love with me even more! Ignoring the arrows once more, I dashed to the small army with an evil smile on my face. Quickly killing off the archers, as I always find them to be the most annoying, I started to eat my fill. Of course, I took a sword from one of the knights that I killed, so I was able to actually fight them.
They weren’t on the level of bandits, and were difficult opponents to deal with. Their armor bore the emblem of the Alwessal Empire. According to Resoria, only knights that hailed directly from the capital city’s military could fly such an emblem. Which would explain their skill.
Someone in the Alwessal Empire really, really wants me dead. At this point, they aren’t even bothering to hide their intentions. Just straight up sending their private military to deal with me. Although, they did kidnap me, which I find confusing.
Not that big of a deal, I will just make sure to keep a few of them alive for questioning. It was a good thing that I ate so much yesterday. As if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have been able to deal with this army with such ease. I could do all this thinking, all while fighting in a life or death situation.

Wow! This dude was interesting! He seemed to be the leader of this stupid army. Unlike the others, this man almost succeeded in getting an attack in on me. Of course, in the end, he didn’t manage to do so. But unfortunately, I cannot kill this man yet. After all, I need someone still alive to question them, and who better than the leader?
An Hour Later.
At some point, Velmet wasn’t able to hold back Cirilia and Resoria any longer. As such, they soon joined the fight, quickly and thoroughly ending any hope that these people had. One blessed person is trouble, but three at the same time? That is just seeking death at that point.
With barely any of them left alive, about under a hundred, their wills to fight were long gone. Only the leader still had life in his eyes. Even if they didn’t stand a chance, those two had no intentions of letting any of them leave this place alive.
Before long, the army was defeated by us. All three of us were covered in blood, but none of us really cared about it. Those two were still fuming at this situation, and I understood. With only five members remaining, it was time to get answers.
Selenia: “Who sent you? Ah, that is such a basic question… Who was the one that ordered you to kidnap me, and why kidnap me? Most of the other attempts were to kill me, not kidnap me.” I ask with a curious tone.
Knight Leader: “Will you let me live if I tell you?” He asked.
Selenia: “No.” I quickly reply with an evil smile.
Knight Leader: “…”
Selenia: “Don’t give me that look! Even if I wanted to spare you, which I don’t, Resoria and Cirilia wouldn’t accept it. If they don’t kill you today, then they will kill you eventually.” I say with an annoyed tone.
Resoria: “That’s right! You’ll be lucky to make it out of this place as a mere torso!” She yelled in anger.
Cirilia: “If you escape, then one day, I will feed you to my dragon.” She said with an evil tone.
Knight Leader: “Then why would I bother to answer?” He replied with a sigh.
Selenia: “Simply put, I plan to take over this empire. If you have anyone that you wish for me to not kill, then I won’t do so. Not to mention, if you answer my questions, then I will give you a quick and easy death.” I answer.
Knight Leader: “…Minister Zaid was the one who wishes for you to die. Originally, that is. Now he wants to capture you, as he wishes to be blessed himself. Basically, he wants to do experiments on you.” He answered after thinking about it for a bit.
Selenia: “Huh? But that is insane… Blessed people are blessed by higher beings. It isn’t something that can be manmade.” I reply with a confused tone.
Knight Leader: “Minister Zaid is insane. Logic doesn’t work with him. And even worse, he basically controls the entire Alwessal Empire. The young king is just his puppet.” He explained.
Selenia: “How annoying…” I say with a sigh.
Knight Leader: “I’ve kept up my end of the deal, so you will keep yours, right?” He asked.
Selenia: “Of course. I am a woman of honor, after all.” I reply with a nod.
Knight Leader: “Then… don’t kill my two daughters and my wife. My wife works as a maid in the castle in the capital, and my two daughters are living there as well. Not as maids, as they’re too young.” He pleaded.
Hm… how interesting… Rather than killing him, it would be far more useful to have him survive this, and then become a spy for me. After all, since he saw our power, I highly expect that he is aware that we can and will take over this empire one day.
Selenia: “Resoria, Cirilia, I want to let him live. Any objections?” I ask.
Resoria: “…”
Cirilia: “…”
Selenia: “Good. Now then, I don’t need to hear your name, but you will return to the capital and be my spy henceforth. Do you agree?” I ask with a serious expression.
Knight Leader: “…I agree. This will be the last attempt for a while, as Minister Zaid has angered pretty much everyone by wasting so much coin and resources on dealing with you. Even with such a chokehold over the Empire, there are still some limits to what he can do.” He agreed.
Sending them off, I was carried by Resoria back into the city. Frankly, I am very interested in how I ended up kidnapped. But my two wives were quite upset at the moment. So I shall do my best to console and pamper them. As a good wife should!
