Chapter 55 - Feels Like The Abyss

Energy pulses through Tasha's body and into her hand, pushing and compressing, until she releases it outwards.

The blast of psychic energy lands on the presidents body, exploding and creating a blast of air in the area that stirred up the dust.

As the cloud of dust dissipates, the president could be seen still standing, with a smirk on his face. “Little girl, you have no idea what you're stepping into. Do you know who we are, what we've done, and the power we've built? You're walking forward, your face unprotected, and your body vulnerable. We are war gods, all of us. And you’re walking forward without a care. Are you not afraid you’ll fall?” The president says before letting out a loud laugh.

Tasha smirks. “You gotta start somewhere, right? Might as well take down the biggest idiot here. While I’m still innocent.” She says before letting out a chuckle.

The president continues to smirk, unimpressed. “Do you think you’ll be able to walk all the way to where I’m standing now? I’m only several meters away from you, but the distance between us is as far as the distance between heaven and earth.” The president continues to say, attempting to dishearten the little girl. “But I have to say, I’m impressed by your effort. We should have crushed you all in the beginning, but you’ve managed to make it all this way. If it wasn’t for the snake in our midst, we would have accomplished the deed long ago. Taylor let you breathe, and that bastard let you grow. For that he has to die. But don’t worry, that asshole will get what’s coming to him.” He says as his brows furrow. His hatred for that man was now almost instinctive. Today, I’ll end that bastard’s life myself. He thinks with malice.

Tasha laughs out loud. “Oh, I’m not worried. If you can take that bastard’s life you’re more than welcome to try. But I have the feeling that you won’t even be able to touch him. I think the world might value his life over yours.” She says with a smirk.

The president frowns. “Let’s get this over with.” He says before a blast of air pushes him forward. He arrives in front of Tasha in a moment, a palm coming down with an immense force.

Tasha doesn’t falter, and like a flowing river her hand waves, striking the president’s wrist and redirecting the energy of his palm outwards.

Tasha pushes out with a palm of her own, and the president doesn’t hesitate to strike back. Their palms collide and another explosion of energy pushes out, forcing both Tasha and the president back.

“You’re going to have to do better than that.” Tasha says, continuing to tease.

Tasha releases her psychic energy and the earth around them began to uproot. Boulders, hidden beneath the ground were revealed, and with a shout, they were shot towards the president like bullets.

The force and speed of the boulders caught the president off-guard, and it was all he could do to punch out and smash a boulder to pieces before another one struck his body full force.

His body is sent flying into the air, spinning a few times before the president gathers himself and floats in the air.

“Well now you’ve pissed me off.” The president says as darkness energy gathers in both of his hands in the form of a violet light, compressing into an almost physical form, its essence gloomy and deep. “Let’s dance, bitch.” He says before rushing forward once again.

Taylor had wounds all over his body, but so far, he’s managed to survive. Sylvie seemed to have an endless supply of healing medicine, and Taylor’s body was covered in a white paste. He looked kind of lame as he stood in the middle of thousands of warriors, but Sylvie was having none of it and applied the medicine anyway.

In comparison, Sylvie seemed relatively fine. To Taylor, her body didn’t seem to have a scratch on it.

Taylor raises an eyebrow. “Are you hurt?” He asks, suspiciously.

Sylvie lets out a chuckle. “I’m fine. Why? Are you wishing me ill will?” She asks, amused.

Taylor lets out a bitter smile. “No. Just curious is all.” He says before deciding to forget about it.

Sylvie raises a pendant out from underneath her shirt. It was a circular gemstone that reflected white light.

Taylor raises an eyebrow. What does that have to do with it? He asks himself.

“Eighth-grade Luck Amulet. From the Matriarch.” She says, satisfying Taylor’s curiosity.

Taylor’s eyes widen. “Well, fuck. How do I get one of those?” He couldn’t help but ask.

***BOOOOM***

A loud sound of thunder erupted in the area.

Startled, Taylor looks around. There were no clouds in the sky, and from the intensity of the sound, that thunder seemed to be more than meets the eye.

Taylor opens his spiritual sense, and as he reaches out, his body couldn’t help but instinctively shrink inwards. What the fuck is that? It feels like the abyss… He couldn’t help but think.

Suddenly, from the crowd of thousands of fighters, a purple light floated out and rose into the skies before its glow expanded to encompass several kilometers outwards.

Taylor takes a good look and his eyes widen. Fuck. Is that Tasha? He asks himself, almost unable to believe his eyes.
