Chapter 12 - Can Still Be Honest

Taylor had been assigned to the mother continent, as that’s where most of his disciples were, so he gathered the others and brought them here. Although access to flights were currently difficult for the general population, the cultivation association was still able to function. And for more difficult locations, people like Raz were being utilized.

Raz also wanted to relax with Taylor during this time, but he had almost immediately called to work as a taxi by the cultivation association.

As for Daryl, he wanted to be somewhere safe and had also wanted to stay with Taylor, but the Demon Heart family had their own worries and called him back. They were currently embroiled in a war in Oceanview.

The Axel family was sending them limited support, considering their alliance, but the families with an eighth stage guardian had decided to stay out of most of the conflict. If even they were embroiled in the war, there was no telling how severe this tribulation would become.

But considering this, Sylvie had no real responsibilities during this, so she accompanied Taylor to the mother continent with Jesse and the kids. Although she had to protect the kids, both she and Jesse knew that Taylor was meant to experience the worst of the tribulation, so they came along for the ride. Whether they would rise or fall with him, that was still up in the air, as most things were during a tribulation.

Taylor had accepted the request half-heartedly, but he was two weeks in and… He was basically directing a genocide. Although these people couldn't technically be considered human as their minds have been reduced to wild beasts, but in the back of Taylor's mind he knew that it was possible for them to regain themselves. The experience might turn them into power-hungry and lust-driven people, but they would still be people; and since when did the world lack these kinds of people? If Taylor considered humanity as a whole and all the ungodly acts that they commit on this earth, there was really no difference between killing these people and killing any random person on the street. Murder is still murder… Taylor thinks with a sigh before shaking the thought away and striking down with his sword. Blood splashed and another infected person had been killed. And work is still work. Oh world, when will you stop validating sin? He thinks without any real care.

“What are you doing!?” A voice yelled with righteous indignation.

Taylor turns his head and sees a man running towards him. Taylor smelled the air and looked at the man with his third eye. “Greed aura? You’re one of the beasts?” Taylor asks with a raised eyebrow. Should I kill him? Taylor wonders to himself.

“We’re not beasts! We’re also people! The people you’re killing still have a chance to regain their minds!” He yells, hoping to convince Taylor.

Taylor smirks. “How was the taste of blood and unpermitted pussy?” He asks with a teasing voice.

The man’s face flushes red and his breathing becomes ragged at the triggered memories. He tries to say something but couldn’t find the words.

Taylor laughs out loud. “You’re reluctant but still hungry. I can see it in your eyes. How’s the newfound strength? I bet you feel like a man, right?” He asks, his laughter continuing to resound.

“Shut your fucking mouth! It doesn’t matter how I got here! What you’re doing is still murder!” The man yells, ignoring the shame washing over him.

Taylor smirks again. “A beast is still a beast. But a beast can still be honest. It’s fucking disgusting to watch you try to justify yourself.” He says with a stern stare and an evil grin. “But I actually don’t give two fucks what you do. People have always been like this. Just stay in your lane, my friend, and I’ll stay in mine. Don’t make me cut you down like your brother here. Considering how you came all the way out here, you’re probably family, right? Blood is thicker than water, after all.” Taylor says before bursting out into another laughter.

An almost uncontainable rage bubbled up inside the man, but he knew his effort would be futile. He promptly turned around and walked away. Just you fucking wait. One day judgement will come for you all… He thinks as he walks forward. Oddly enough, this event had continued to stir him up in the way the Greed Aura had originally infected him. He was currently in the mood to kill…
