Chapter 29 - More Interesting

Taylor parks and gets out of his car before moving towards the coffee shop. There was a homeless man sitting outside.

“Some change, sir?” The man asks with an outstretched hand.

“No I don't have any fucking change.” Taylor says, slightly pissed off before ignoring the man and walking into the store.

Taylor gets in line when he hears a lady arguing at the front counter. The lady was tall and had long blonde hair. She was dressed in a suit and gave off the air that she was important.

“No, my name isn't Katherine! It's Isabelle! How did you get Katherine from Isabelle!” The lady exclaims, slightly pissed that she was forced to have this conversation.

“Then is this even your order?” The dark-skinned lady says from across the counter.

“Yes, that’s my order! Do you think I wouldn’t know what I ordered? Just give it to me.” The lady says as she grabs the coffee and struts out of the building.

Taylor raises an eyebrow but ignores it. Eventually it was his turn to order and he asks for a double-double.

After receiving his drink he went to sit down but he saw that there were no places to sit. Taylor’s eye catches a man sitting by himself and walks over. “Mind if I have a seat, buddy?” He asks as he gestures to the chair.

“First of all, I’m not your buddy. Second of all, go ahead. I don’t own this place.” He says before ignoring him and continuing to read his book.

Taylor sits down and takes a sip of his coffee before looking at the book the man was reading. “Star Wars, huh? Interested in going to space?” Taylor asks casually.

“Yes, I am interested in going to space.” The man says as he puts down the book. “What about you?” He asks, not sure why. He just happened to be slightly curious.

“Space, huh? I don’t know. I’m not sure what’s out there. Or if there’s anything waiting for me there.” Taylor responds absentmindedly.

“Would you go if given the chance?” The man asks with a raised eyebrow.

“Yeah, I’d go. Why not, right?” Taylor says with a smile.

“I think it would be more interesting than your impression of it.” The man says before picking up his book and continuing to read.

“More interesting, eh?” Taylor wonders with a smile. Maybe one day… He thinks, unsure what the future held for him.
