Brought me to hell and fucked me back to life… Taylor thinks as he exhales a hot breath. He had woken up in the afternoon and his body… it was very unwilling to go through the day. Sylvie had brought him some lunch and nursed his wounds, then spent the evening cuddling him. Taylor very much wanted to cry throughout the rollercoaster experience and when Sylvie left to feed the kid he did. Taylor cried and cried like a child, expressing all the emotions his body and soul were feeling. And when Sylvie came back into the room, Taylor wiped his tears and greeted her with a smile.
Taylor continued to rest until the next morning, and that day he didn’t do much, but in the evening he decided to give the vampires a call.
“Hey…” Taylor greeted, his voice weary, as heavy as his soul.
“Hey?” Charles says, unsure what the situation was with Taylor. “I thought you would call a couple days back. What took so long?” He asks, curious. And his voice sounds heavy… What has he been up to? Charles wonders.
“I had to deal with a few things when I got back.” Taylor says with a sigh. His wounds and bruises had mostly healed, but his body still ached when he moved. Still, though, it was up for the job. “What’s the mission this time?” He asks, hoping to get it over with.

“The Mountain Climbers are attempting to turn a lot of people. Through kidnapping, human trafficking; basically if there’s access to a body, they’re using it, and they’re trying to turn them en masse.” Charles begins to explain. “A bunch of us have been tasked to the police force. We’re locking down any sort of crime as long as it could be mildly related to the Mountain Climbers. But they’ve been at this for a while before we caught a whiff of it so an elite task force is tracking where all these people went. When they find them, kill if they were turned, erase their memories if they weren’t. It could take a couple years, and it’s possible they’ll give you a few missions during your watch.” Charles says; all things considered the job was pretty lax.
“So basically you’re hiring me to be a cop?” Taylor says with a deadpan expression. “What am I going to do? Arrest them and take them to court?” Taylor asks with a laugh.
“If it doesn’t involve the Mountain Climbers, how you judge the criminal is up to you. If it is though, you’ll have to report it; as for the others, you can let them go for all they care, as long as they aren’t in the business of selling bodies.” Charles continues to explain.
“Fuck, are you serious? Isn’t this basically vigilante justice? Should I hire someone to make a costume and mask for me to wear?” Taylor asks, finding the matter ridiculous.
“Hey, man, if that’s what floats your boat, no one’s stopping you.” Charles says with a chuckle. “Anyways, I’ll send you a contact number; these guys should be able to explain it better. They’ll probably send you to Oceanview as that’s what the Demon Heart Vampires are in charge of, and it’s pretty close to your place, I guess.” Charles says, offering his piece.
“Fuck’s sake.” Taylor says with a sigh. He was probably going to have to find a place to stay in Oceanview and as for the matter of territory… I’m going to have to request permission to cultivate... Fuck… Taylor thinks, frustrated by the bureaucracy of this whole ordeal. Also, both Sylvie and Jesse are coming along… this is going to be a nightmare… He thinks, dreading the upcoming year.
