Chapter 50 - Not Going to Lie

“Easy, girl.” Taylor says with his hands raised. “Johan sent me. We have a jet waiting for you at the airport.” Taylor says, his pace controlled and his body language offering no threat.

The red-haired beauty says nothing and continues to scowl as a hand holds the dagger to Taylor's throat. Her other hand slowly reaches down to the pockets on her martial arts pants and takes out a phone. She unlocks it and finds Johan in her contacts before calling him.

**BRRRING**

**BBRRRRRINGGG**

She quickly puts the phone on speakerphone and a moment later someone answers the call.

“Hi, uncle. It's me, Jesse.” She says, her cute voice in contrast with her guarded, scowling face.

“Oh, hi honey. How are you? I sent someone to pick you up. Let me know if he harasses you. If he does, there are a few ways I can make him regret it. I'll let you have your pick.” Johan says in a friendly uncle voice.

Taylor rolls his eyes. How come whenever I call, it's always, ‘What now?’ or ‘What the fuck do you want?’ and why is he speaking like that? I've never heard that tone from him for as long as I've known him. Taylor thinks, trying not to feel jealous. He wasn't Taylor's dad or anything, but the contrast in treatment between him and her was really pissing Taylor off.

“I think he's here. But he's very suspicious looking. I'm not sure I trust him.” Jesse says, her guard lowering a notch.

“Oh, he is very much suspicious. I only know him because he dared to cultivate on my territory. Now I hear that he spends a lot of his time with vampires. Scary, right?” Johan says in the same tone, his words carrying a shadow of the truth.

Jesse's guard raises once again when she hears the word vampires and the knife was pressed further against Taylor's skin, blood slowly beginning to stream down his neck.

Taylor gulped involuntarily, causing the dagger to press further into his throat.

“Did you want to talk to him, uncle? Just so I know he is who he says he is.” Jesse asks, her voice having a child-like quality of either innocence or naiveté. But there was no naiveté on her current expression.

But I'm not going to lie, it's probably exactly what a creepy uncle like Johan would be into. Taylor thinks with some disdain before naturally comparing her voice to Sylvie’s. Maybe we are into the same thing? Taylor wonders before shaking his head slightly, as the knife causes more blood to pour. Nah, Sylvie's a mature woman. There just happens to be some contrast with her voice. Taylor thinks, forgetting the situation.

“Oh, Taylor are you there?” Johan asks, his tone carrying a hint of what it previously was. Likely just to appease Jesse's presence.

“Yup, I'm here. Can you call her off? This bitch is crazy.” Taylor says, risking the knife edge digging further into his throat.

“What? Did you scare her? Taylor, she's a young woman. Can't you act proper for once?” Johan asks, displeased.

“She's fucking 24. She can handle herself. Just tell her that it's okay to follow me and we'll be on our way.” Taylor says, not giving an inch.

“Hey, Jessie.” Johan says, his tone changing once more. “I know that he doesn't look like a good person, but it should be okay to follow him. The jet will fly you over and we can catch up on what you've been up to.” Johan says, trying to appease her.

“Okay, uncle. I'll see you soon.” Jesse says, her cheeks turning a hint rosier.

Taylor rolls his eyes again. Whatever daddy kink this chick has going on; I want no part of it. Taylor thinks, unable to help feeling a little aroused.

“Talk to you later, honey.” Johan says before hanging up.

“Are we cool?” Taylor asks. He was getting real tired of this blade against his throat.

“Don't try anything funny.” Jesse says before removing the knife edge and returning the dagger to her sleeve.

“Fuck.” Taylor exclaims, rubbing his throat and smearing the spilled blood. “I'm not going to lie. I'm very turned on right now.” Taylor couldn’t help but admit.

“Ugh.” Jesse exclaims, giving Taylor a look of disgust before turning back down the alleyway.

“There's some stuff I have to grab at the shack.” She says, walking further away.

“The shack?” Taylor asks. Why is a cultivator living in a shack? He asks himself.
