Chapter 21 - Until They Are Ready

Chapter 21 - Until They Are Ready

Taylor stood outside of his house and breathes deeply from his cigarette. Hanz is fucking intense… Taylor couldn't help but think as he recalls the dinner from earlier in the evening.

I'm going to make a school out of the whole world, Taylor. I'm going to teach these kids how to be god.

If you were in hell and you knew there was a path to heaven, would you take it?

Decisions, decisions, Taylor. I'm going to ingrain this knowledge into their bones.

Food, alcohol, pussy. I'll give it all to them.

Taylor lets out a breath. I feel like I just got fucked by words. Taylor thinks as he takes another drag from his cigarette.

Taylor wasn’t quite sure what Hanz was planning, but by the intensity of the emotions behind his words… It didn’t sound like something a normal person could handle. Taylor didn’t quite think that Hanz understood just how fragile these people were. It’s like… A lot of them were like kids… They have such young souls… Taylor thinks as he exhales a cloud of smoke. Taylor knew quite well that adults shouldn’t expect equality from kids. They should be coddled and gently cared for until they are ready to move forward. But Hanz… He wants to kick them out of the nest… He wants to see if they can fly… Taylor thinks with heavy eyes.

Why the fuck am I the person he told this to? Taylor thinks with some frustration. Now that he heard what Hanz had to say, he couldn’t un-hear it. It was very clear that Hanz intended to do something drastic, and Taylor very much felt like he should do something about it. But what would he say? Would he tell people that there was an evil mastermind on the loose? Or was it even worth the effort? From what Taylor knew about the world, these things tended to balance out just as the world intends it to. If Hanz was planning something drastic and against nature, there would naturally be someone to stop him.

There are other eighth stage powerhouses watching the world. I doubt they would stand by if Hanz decides to flip the table. Taylor thinks, attempting to comfort himself. I’ll tell Johan. But after that, it’s out of my hands. Taylor thinks before deciding to ignore what may come.

Johan said he would let the relevant people know, and that was the last he heard about it.

Taylor went back to the mother continent to continue his crusade against the infected. But he was no longer killing them flippantly. He sent them to Hanz alive. With Hanz, the infected had some sort of shelter and a chance at living their lives, so Taylor decided to ignore their crimes and send them over. He didn’t want more of their blood on his hands.

As for the tribulation. War and violence was currently tearing the world apart, and the blood moon and the infected weren’t making things easier. Although the blood moon would lose most of its effect during the day, its influence was still very much felt by the world. The monsters were going wild.

One day, as Taylor continued to capture the infected, he received some news. The war had finally hit him; Daryl was dead. He was caught in the war between the Demon Heart vampires and the other factions in Oceanview City. Unfortunately, he was only at the third stage. In a war on this scale, the third stage was just cannon fodder, and Daryl couldn’t make it out unscathed.

Taylor went back after he was buried to visit his gravestone. He chugged a whole bottle of scotch and poured another bottle onto the ground. He put the two bottles on both sides of the gravestone and decorated it with some flowers. After that, he cried…
