“Taylor, are you ready?” Sylvie calls out from the other room.
“Yeah!” Taylor calls back before looking to his dad. “Do you want to come? We're going over to Sylvie's parents’ place to see if little Johnny has witch blood in him.” Taylor says with a smile. Witches came upon their abilities differently than other supernatural creatures; they were gifted to them by the world. One didn't need parents who were witches for the chance and it wasn't something you could earn with hard work; if you're a witch you were judged at birth to be a witch, even if it happened to occur more frequently with children of witches. Depending on today, little Johnny could either walk the witch path or his destiny would lean towards becoming a cultivator.
Taylor’s dad raises an eyebrow. “Yeah, I’ll come. Both your mom and I will come along.” He says with a sigh. He had his own worries for little Johnny’s future as he was also part demon. It was a small part but it would mean that he would grow up with an edge, so he’d prefer to be careful. The last thing he wanted was for little Johnny to start cultivating Taylor’s technique.

“Awesome. It will be a family outing.” Taylor says with a smile.

“Welcome! Come in, come in.” Sylvie’s dad says with a smile. He was a thin man with greying hair and a gentle smile. Unfortunately, he didn’t share Sylvie’s witch blood. Still, he was considered to be part of the Axel witch clan.
“Hello! How are you?” Taylor’s mom says as she walks inside. “I’m Sharon, Taylor’s mom and this is my husband, Kerry. Thanks for having us!” She says with a smile.
“No worries. We’re glad to have you.” He says, exchanging pleasantries.

Sylvie’s mom moves the needle holding a drop of blood to the small cauldron and watches intently. Eventually the liquid in the cauldron changed from green to grey. Sylvie’s mother frowns. “He’s not a witch.” She says with some disappointment.
Taylor’s dad sighs. “Taylor, if he’s going to cultivate in the future, don't allow him to cultivate your technique. He’s better off following after me, or better yet, Johan. But your technique isn’t meant for him.” He says with a serious tone. In fact, I doubt it’s even meant for you… He thinks with worry. If it’s fate, then at least we can blame it on the heavens. But if this was some sort of sick accident… he’s doomed… Taylor’s dad thinks, not really wanting to consider it.
“Okay.” Taylor says with a nod. “I’ll ask Johan about it. Maybe he wants to be a godfather.” Taylor says with a smile.
