Chapter 8 - (transl.)

Leica slowly took a few steps back, lowering her head to the floor and adding a touch of submissiveness her gaze to, of course she could sense the playful nature of her new friend, she just knew it wouldn't happen to her, but eventually she realized her mistake very quickly after telling her to report all stones before chewing. For the first time in her short life as an Eisenfell Wolf, she learned what renunciation would be. Finally it was enough to make her eyes bigger and her new companion came in.

Magna: “No, no. Not those eyes. Leica. No, stop looking at me like that Leica. Cursed. We do half and half, but that's what you're looking for! ”

Even Leica liked these gimmicks. After their communication and connection, Leica was able to recognize more and more of her new sister, although some things still confused her very much. She could clearly see that it was a female species, but apparently she always spoke of herself in the masculine form. For Leica it was a completely simple concept. You were either a woman or a man, but her little sister seemed to think she was both. She could also perceive pain from her in this regard. It was as if the condition wasn't, Leica had to think for a while to visualize the concept. “Of course” then suddenly came to her mind. She also had the feeling that she was developing more and more awareness of herself. Through the connection, she was constantly taught various concepts. Not only actively through her little sister, but also passively. She noticed that her sister was playing and smirking with her in a way. She would of course share her prey with her. She just knew deep down inside. This other being actually seemed to see her as a family or a pack.

Often Leica was unable to understand human language, but what? Leica had to think she was human, but something about the smell told her that this was not the case, as if appearances were lying on her nose and usually nothing could betray the proud nose of Leica.

She fooled around with her new family for half the evening until she finally got tired and tried to lie down in her new favorite place next to hers and sleep there for a while. Her new family also seemed very tired, but somehow they couldn't calm down. Leica decided to sleep with at least one eye open and keep an eye on her little sister.

Eventually Leica fell asleep, but for the first time in her life she had a terrible dream. It was like something was snatching her new family away from her. She would have done anything to protect her family. That sound of the drums. She could hear him that night too. They came to steal her pack. She took her sisters and brothers, her mother and her father from her! She fled. She ran through the night only to find herself in this hole. She thought the human would kill her! Kill How Your Family Was Killed! But it turned out differently and if anything harmed her new family she would tear it to pieces.

She could feel dark thoughts pulling at her mind, pulling and pulling at it. As if someone had plucked the strings of a harp. Without her ever knowing what a harp was! In her dream she could see you. I could see how the rooms were shaped, expanded and columns created. But there was something about it that felt terribly wrong. She couldn't really grasp the feeling, but it seemed like something was controlling, directing or guiding, Little Sister. From her mind she could once see something like a puppet show, which came close to it. Something dark, out of the abyss, something ominous.

All of her fur began to stand on end, whereupon she began to growl and finally open her eyes. She could see everything. The lumen was still glowing in the room, but there was no trace of it. Instead, she could see the works of her dreams. She quickly concluded that they weren't dreams. She felt an infinite tiredness as her partner dug deeper and deeper into the depths of the earth in a deep fever.

She made her way down to her very quickly and caught her just in time before she fell into the darkest hole Leica had ever seen in her life.

Her human seemed to wake up from a trance, grabbed her fur and kissed her forehead.

“Thank you, thank you Leica. I don't know what was wrong with me. ”

[System: Congratulations, her void resisted the strange touch in her mind. Beware of strangers, should be a natural reaction. Take better care of yourself, otherwise one day you might end up with the wrong people.]

“Damn bullshit? Someone played with my thoughts? I shouldn't be in such a mentally weak state, on the other hand, I haven't had a decent sleep in days. So? But mind magic? ”He

gently strokes Leica's head. Now she owed one. A real one. Without her? Didn't he even want to think about what would have happened. The only thing that crossed his mind was to close this hole, but somehow the earth didn't really want to move.

"Whatever it is? Did it still affect me? ”

[System: The void in you has weakened a renewed access to your mind.]

Well, that acutely clarified his question. Whatever its nasty fingers reached for his mind didn't seem to stop there. The moment he tried to cast Mana eyes, he could see a small, fast figure scurrying down in the dark hole.

Leica immediately gave him a sense of “danger” and “threat”. Shortly afterwards "ready to fight" Even before the feeling was fully reflected in his mind, a creature jumped out of the blackness and was caught by Leica's mouth, only to be torn to pieces shortly afterwards.

[System: Leica, your companion, has a Corrupted Lizard Goblin level? killed.]

[System: enemy killed 10 levels above their own. Bonus experience granted.]shared

[System: Experience is between them.]

Leica just seemed to open its mouth and drop the thing into the depths. He staggered back, completely startled. The whole situation suddenly got very close to him because all his fights so far have been done either from a safe distance or through his traps. He was even more shocked that he couldn't use his magic. The mind control effect wasn't as present as it was before, but it still seemed to be efficient at sealing his magic.

To make matters worse, the situation was over so quickly that he didn't even have time to identify or recognize the creature. If it weren't for the system news, he wouldn't even know what Leica had just killed. He reflexively drew the short sword at his hip and was amazed for a moment how little this iron would be of use to him at the moment. This situation made him all the more aware of the importance of combat skills outside of magic, which would have been really helpful at that moment. He felt terribly helpless and had to rely on Leica.

Leica chewed up one creature at a time. In contrast to him, she looked energetic and charged. It seemed that nothing could stop her, although more and more cuts from the blades of the creatures accumulated on her body, Leica and he both won another level in this fight. There wasn't very much he could do other than push one or the other beast back through the Narrow Tunnel into the depths with his modest sword skills. You could hear the creatures ricochet off stones and fellow creatures as they dragged more of their kind with them into the depths. It took quite a while of messages to discover the one he had been waiting for the most.

[System: The void in you has successfully repelled the enemy attack on your mind. By resisting the attack and eliminating its effects, the void gains an enhanced form of resistance to mind magic.]

At last. His void in him began to suppress the seal and he could finally use his magic again. It felt like the gates of a dam had been opened and the masses poured through his body. Suddenly he was filled with strength again. He wasn't going to let Leica fight this fight alone.

He immediately began to shape the floor. Several rocks formed, which he threw with his mana into the depths of the cave. Sometimes spears from stone formations followed, which also impaled some of the creatures on the way down, like on a shashlik. In the first respite that the two enjoyed, he immediately began to work healing magic on Leica to relieve them and to treat their wounds. As soon as he had cured Leica to some extent, he turned to closing the dungeon. However, the system surprised him with a message that appeared quite unexpected.

[System: You must be in the dungeon to close the dungeon.]

The news confused him deeply. It felt to him like the system was about to fuck him. He desperately needed a bit of sleep and from above there was always news of beasts stumbling into his traps. Basically he was between the hammer and anvil. After a few more steps forward and close to the abyss, Leica tried to hold him back from falling, but he reassured her about his connection to her and began to put one foot down.

[System: You have entered the Lost Dungeon of the Lizard Grotto.]

[System: Quest! This dungeon has been quarantined. The creatures in the dungeon have been infected by (Something system unknown). Infection defends itself against the system. The system generates special rewards for wiping out the dungeon.]

[System: 50% cleaned. Reward I Encyclopedia of Alchemy, its Potions, Known Herbs and Related Spells]

[System: 75% purified. Reward completely enchanted equipment set made of magical leather]

[System: 100% cleaned. Reward magical memory about 30 cubic meters]

"Huh?" Escaped his lips. How could he have expected it when the System had never offered him a quest before! But the rewards sounded promising. At least the dungeon would be worth cleaning up. The last reward in particular attracted his attention, as it would make his life so much easier. The storage would roughly correspond to a 20 foot container, which would be more than enough space for everything he carried with him.

But for now he pushed the quest aside with a thought, because he had no time to ponder it, because as he suspected he entered the dungeon as soon as he put one foot down. It hadn't crossed his mind up to that moment, but shortly afterwards he lit a lumen, which he let fall into the depths, extra bright, like a magnesium torch. It looked like a falling star to him, which made him grin, because he finally wanted a soft, comfortable bed again. The lumen illuminated the climbing creatures, which from the interior of the incredibly deep cavern seemed to be approaching the bottleneck of the cave in which he had his foot. The lumen fell towards an underground pond, which received the lumen with a deep black shimmer. In the cavern, an incredible number of crystals glittered on the walls, which reflected the light of the falling star.

After a moment of observation, he did not hesitate long, whereupon he again worked his magic to close as much of the neck of the bottle as he could. Finally he fell back into utter exhaustion. Whatever sought access to his mind could only find emptiness there. Leica grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back to the bedrooms. There she pulled him into the sleeping alcove, whereupon she wrapped herself protectively around him. He, however, almost went into a fetal position, which promised him security in this new world, cuddled up close to Leica, and he fell asleep.

It took a little more than six hours to fully recover from fatigue. When he woke up, he first had to pluck all of the fur off his tongue. Apparently he had drooled a bit in his sleep too. Leica, on the other hand, seemed to have been up all night. Their gaze constantly directed into the tunnel from which they came back. He straightened up and promised to be vigilant for a few hours so that she too could sleep. That day he wasn't going to spend his time with the cadavers on the surface. Although he had processed most of the things he threw into his silos in one form or another and these creatures would certainly be plentiful prey, the slaughterhouse above the ground no longer seemed to captivate him. Instead, he spent the time of his watch examining the mana crystals from the beasts, whereupon he had an unnatural urge to eat the crystal himself, as Leica had done before, but he resisted this brief, vanishing impulse, whereupon he briefly then disappeared as it had come. As much as it confused him, he quickly forgot it and preferred to devote himself to his status:

He used the time to distribute the points from his four new levels. Once again he had to admit how important it was to increase his willpower, which seemed to naturally accumulate with some resistance from his breed. He quickly put the remaining points into his vitality with a thought.

At the moment when he turned to her status, there was a scratching and breaking from the former corridor, with which the rest period was apparently over, for her enemy seemed more than modest to announce. But nothing he couldn't handle anymore. It was time not only for a second leg, but above all for a home game.
