The system message was completely ignored by him. So far he has found the exchange at best as a change, because his last conversation with a living person was some time ago and only thanks to his extensive self-talk from time to time did it allow him to form sentences without further stuttering.
However, he was rudely reminded by this stranger that he was no longer a man in the true sense of the word. At least not in a biological way.
As often as he said to himself in his mind, he could still actively hide the fact. In the same way that he has been blocking things out his whole life by turning them into a joke, as well as one or the other traumatic experience. But there was an air of seriousness in this address.
A part of him knew that from now on he would come across this more and more often and that it would never be avoided in cities and yet that one comment had blown a fuse in him. It was hurled directly into his face by this stranger, where he held it in front of his eyes and could no longer ignore it! He couldn't ignore it, he couldn't ignore that this whole New World has so far been a struggle for his own survival. That this world just pissed him off and if it weren't for Leica, then he would certainly have done some stupid things long ago.
Something animal, almost animal instinct in him, felt an inexplicable revulsion towards this stranger. The feeling that came over him once with the crystal penetrated his surface again, whereupon something strange seemed to stir in him. It seemed like the pent-up anger was gaining the upper hand over him. It should feel to him like a dam that has been criss-crossed by innumerable cracks. Black energies poured out of these cracks, causing his pupils to turn completely black. Leica began to stand on end, gaining a few paces from him.
[System: Your strong emotions unlocked your second nature. You get access to a further statistical value (Void)]
[System: This new value increases the statistical value already calculated for you by 1.]
It did not even occur to him any kind of attention to the messages from the system to give. Something deep inside himself just wanted to erase this stranger and erase it from the history of this world. How could something so obvious, something he was aware of, make him so furious. The rational part of his mind was still busy wrestling with the beast within him for control. This something in him, however, ceaselessly thirsted for the stranger's blood.
A black ball formed in his hand, although this thing wanted to see its enemy burning in him, but instead of the usual flames, these seemed to consist only of dark emptiness. Something told him that these flames would consume anything they touched. In his anger his magic slipped away, which flew towards the mind mage in a flicker of his rationality. The stranger seemed to have been as surprised by the whole action as he was. As soon as the black flames touched the mind mage, inhuman screams echoed through the cavern. No matter how much the mind mage resisted the black flames on him, they seemed to consume him as a whole. Only after the flames had no organic matter to consume did they slowly appear to be extinguished.
The stranger held a few fingers to his chin while he watched without emotion what was happening to his servant in front of his eyes. No, if he could see his gaze it was that there was some sick kind of fascination in it.
Unknown: “Interesting. This type of magic is completely unknown to me. You'd probably be a fascinating little research project. However, there seems to be some risk involved. ”
“ Probably a special skill? a racial advantage? Maybe a special advantage? These flames were clearly familiar to me, but I would have to consult my reading. The structure of the magic seems unique, unlike anything I've been able to experiment with before. What was the trigger for these magics, why did the individual not use these magics before? ”
The stranger seemed to ignore him completely or even to block him out. The conversation, no, this was no longer a conversation, but a monologue. He himself, however, was very happy at the moment to regain control of his psyche very quickly after this outbreak. One of the few things he never liked was losing control of himself and if he had to name a deeply rooted fear in him it would have been this one. His eyes quickly returned to their natural color, whereupon Leica returned to his side. There was a perverse form of satisfaction deep down inside him. Only after he was aware of his surroundings again did he see the percentages rise very quickly to 89%.
Without the mind mage who apparently guided the creatures, the different species quickly fell upon each other, whereupon they began to tear each other apart. The same was true of the former creature bodyguards, but they seemed instinctively to stay away from the unknown. Those in the other essential creatures, on the other hand, exhibited a somewhat greater intelligence in addition to their related abominations, for they disappeared very quickly in the tangled tunnel behind him.

Although he was not credited with any experience and the chaos only increased, he was still welcomed. He wasn't greedy enough not to be able to tell when he'd bitten off too much. Finally he dared a new look at his status and could see a new value there, which was integrated below his intelligence, but this value felt very strange. No matter how hard he tried to fix this value in himself, he just couldn't get hold of it. It felt like he was missing something.
Unknown: "As much as I would like to continue studying you and include you in my research, I have to admit that I would not have been able to leave this place without you, and I am not one who pays no favors regardless of our little argument."
The stranger nodded a few times as if he were confirming his own statements. Magna (Magna) also felt uncomfortable at the thought of getting in his way. Finally, when he was identified, a question mark appeared directly after the name and two question marks with a space behind it. Most likely this stranger was a lot stronger than himself and he was no longer in his best form, as well as the system did not show a direct quest for his extinction, which made him even stranger.
Unknown: “After all, I've been locked up here long enough and I'm barely responsible for the actions of my little butler. After all, he was only supposed to find an exit from this dungeon for me and through the hole they created it is excellent to escape, even if I could get a bit wet in the process ”
He said the last one as if he was telling himself a joke.
Unknown: “We'll definitely meet again, little lady. Goodbye advice. They should leave this place soon, because a storm is brewing, but with their skills escaping shouldn't be a problem for them. ”
Leica growled at the stranger again before he seemed to change into another shape, whereupon he was in the stream of water which seemed to flow into the chamber, like a fish swimming against the current itself. After the stranger had disappeared, the quest did not indicate a failure. Whatever infected the creatures in this dungeon had to be related to him in some way. Shortly after his disappearance, he decided to remotely close the hole in the roof of the cavern, which left him and Leica in front of a calm lake that slowly began to dissolve through the tunnels. He tore the many dead creatures with him. Every now and then they still had to get rid of a few of the attacking creatures on the cavern walls, but they no longer attacked in their rigid coordination, and they also seemed a bit indecisive. The fight completely lost its explosiveness, which finally gave a feeling for a steady but slow progress in this place.
It took quite a while for the water in the tunnels to disappear and the percentages continued to rise to 93%. It seemed to him that some of the creatures were still fighting. They no longer had any natural space in this dungeon that was their own, which is why they were probably very close to different locations. In their newfound freedom, they indulged their most primitive instincts, which led them to a struggle of no return. After a short break, he decided to claim the second reward, because his clothes had seen better days and the fight hadn’t really been beneficial to her. Thankfully, his reward was delivered with new underwear and undergarments. In the air in front of him, the equipment seemed to materialize out of nowhere. It had the feel of a science fiction novel. Among the equipment was also a sports bra, which would be very useful for him, because he would make it very efficient to pack his cups, as well as to hide them a little better.
The armor itself seemed perfectly made for him, as did the enchantments on it.
[Leather armor: slightly increases mana regeneration, passive self-repair, the item is soulbound.]
The armor had some front pockets, like some slots for? Probably drinking bottles, as well as a couple of hidden compartments, which would probably also pay off.
[Linen trousers: robust, passive self-repairing, the item is soul-bound.]
The trousers themselves fitted perfectly, as did the armor. They were quite simple, but sturdy, with their side seams being very noticeable and it bothered him a little how much these pants seemed to accentuate his bottom.
[Leather bracers: Increases your health regeneration slightly, passive self-repair, the item is soul-bound.] [Leather
boots: Increases your passive stamina regeneration, passive self-repair, the item is soul-bound.]
The boots themselves reminded him a little of his military combat boots, which he possessed in his previous life. However, these seemed a little more impressive.
[Leather coat: hides their presence. Slightly, passive self-repairing]Combat backpack: New
[in this world. It was preserved internally in a new state and has the property of self-healing, the item is soul-bound.]
It took a rebirth, an annoying dungeon, a dangerous quest and a little luck, but at least he finally had a coat in this life as he had always wanted. The hood could effectively hide his face. A half mask was also supplied with this set, which he could pull just over his nose, which seemed to hide his face even further. It promised, at least, that it would not always be the center of attention. Still, the female voice should be a problem. His small size wasn't particularly encouraging either. In fact, this outfit almost gave him the look of an assassin and had very little in common with the classic demeanor of a magician. On his new belt there were already a couple of scabbards for the two daggers he owned and one for the almost useless short sword. The new clothes seemed to make him feel refreshed. A feeling that he could really enjoy and welcome. After getting dressed, he began to look around the cavern again to find his next destination.
The most interesting things for him at the moment weren't the deep caves and tunnels, but the tunnel from which the stranger seemed to come. After the water level was at an all-time low, he decided to follow his spiral staircase through a newly created passage back into the cave itself. For his safety, he was forced to refill his former traps. It would have been a shame to be put to an end by a little carelessness and some of your own pits. It was also very difficult for him to warn Leica about them or explain the danger that the holes represented.
With Leica at his side, he slowly began to wander through the interior of the cavern. Although the masses of water could carry away a lot, they could not clean everything. Corpses were still gathering in the pits and traps. Before he locked them, he could make out some of them on the field tips. It took a few moments to get to the other side of the cavern. But finally he reached the place just below the ledge on which he had previously made out the stranger and where the burned remains of the mind mage were still to be found. With just a few strokes of his earth magic, he quickly created a staircase in the wall. Once on the ledge, he could make out the remains of the former mind mage. There wasn't much left of him as if he had been cremated. This also applied to all items he carried with him, nothing survived the flames of the Void. The tunnel behind the ledge led to a higher level of the dungeon. It was precisely this tunnel that wanted success. He was dying to find out where the other mage's former bodyguard had gone.
