From the deeper parts of the cavern he could see a body rising more like a truck.
"Of course it was only a young animal and now Mama Spider is coming! Excellent. Why had he asked, he had only bewitched it with that!"
What else could he do at such a moment but to pick up his legs and give heel gold, but before that he threw a few of his napalm balls followed by some ultra hot fireballs.
To his right and left, several nets began to catch fire. A short time later the whole damned chamber became a blast furnace in which both webs and spiders were burning. If he didn't know better, the whole town was sure to be ravaged by the beasts.
A few meters in front of him in his line of sight another of the creatures let himself down on a thread, without hesitation he pelted it with a bomb carpet of his modified fireballs with which the animal itself caught fire but did not die immediately, no, so far he has not received a single one Confirmation of a kill!
He could honestly only be reminded of the plateau, but why did he have to go to a dungeon on his own?
At the moment he came into the anteroom of the stairs, a fat spider was already sitting there directly in front of the exit, where it was spinning a web over the landing. Before he ran in, he turned right into the former guard house and from there he came to one of the more than dilapidated bridges. Probably no madness would have driven him to step foot on the crossing, but a thought of the giant hairy spiders made the decision easier, which made him stumble across the bridge without a trace of doubt.
Stones fell incessantly from the narrow bridge into the abyss. One thought back, the system had called the spiders arachnid warriors. Something of higher evolution had also been part of it. Spiders shouldn't have solid nests, but everything magical had that little hook in the "fuck you" box.
Before he even reached the other side, two bright red eyes seemed to be looking at him from there. "FUCK ME SIDEWAYS!" he exclaimed as his eyes began to enlarge. Contrary to expectations, they weren't spiders, but some other species. The identification gave it the name [Deep Goblins: Evolution? Level ??]
Caught between two fronts, on a damn bridge that was starting to crumble. He was reluctant to admit it, but he needed a plan and he needed it quickly. For one thing, he could have gone back. Damn it, he was sure he was taking some of the spiders with him.
All Magna needed was solid ground on which to stand and walk, because from his position he could see more than a single point where there was no potential horror. Since he was only constantly compacting the ground so that the bridge gained stability, another alternative simply had to be created by him.
With the mana, as well as the formation of the earth, he first reached into the walls of the respective sides of the crossing, pulling the stone towards him, which on the one hand strengthened the subsoil, but also the bridge with a few pillars at a 30 ° angle from below as from above could support.
The crumbling became abruptly less, also some of the spiders, including goblins, lost their hold due to the mass of stones that had slipped off. Beings on both sides fell to depths from which there was no return.
[System: You contributed to the death of an arachnid soldier. This was one evolutionary level higher than them, which grants them bonus experience.]
[System: You contributed to the death of a Deep Goblin Priest. This was an evolutionary level higher than they, which earned them bonus experience.]
Now that quite a few on both sides were pushed into the depths, a decent amount of experience accumulated.
Unfortunately, there were also wide openings for both sides, which gave the two parties to the conflict better access to the stabilized bridge.
Both the goblins and the spiders charged across the crossing towards his location. Perhaps not every option had worked, because the unstable situation of the connection must also have kept them from getting to the other side.
Could he step on floating stones? Couldn't he just fly? It would be time to work on either one, but a flying spell would take too much time so erected some stepping stones of mana on which he escaped this death trap. Inwardly, he thanked one of his novel heroes for this idea.
The stones of pure mana formed under his feet before he stepped on them. Not long after that, the system threw a new skill at his head.
[System: stepping stones. It's not quite enough to fly, but it's still close. They create their own soil on which they can stand and walk. With increasing level, the mana cost decreases slightly and its stability increases.]
Under his mask he had to grin as he walked on his personal staircase back to the side with the spiders, but to a higher section where none of the spiders was.
At the same moment that he disappeared, the two factions on the bridge were now entangled in each other. A new battle had broken out on the new fortified crossing, instead of being torn apart, reminding him that creatures in a dungeon don't always work together. He himself arrived on a balcony above the whole thing.
Somehow it occurred to him that it would be tragic if something had happened to the bridge, but just as quickly he rejected the idea, because as long as they were occupied with themselves, they ignored him too.

From more than 300 meters away, he could see the crossing seem to shake. A couple of the spiders were on the walls on their way to him too. It was time he stopped running away and gave them a warm welcome. Since their weakness was apparently the fire and his modified fireballs didn't seem to lack much, he added an extra portion of mana to all of them until the system gave him a message here too.
[System: Large Ultra Hot Fireball. You modified a skill. Increased area and penetration. Bonus experience earned]ones
Eventually the spiders got hurt by the normal, but it wasn't quite enough. The new ones ate up a lot of his mana, but that was fine as long as he had a weapon in his arsenal that worked.
The first spider he met gave him a full death report shortly after it crashed! Of course, it would have been nicer if his fireballs could be seen, but the flames were too heated for a visual effect. From the outside he must have looked incredibly ridiculous, the way he hurled invisible things at spiders only so that they went up in flames shortly afterwards, whereupon they fell into the depths.
What options did he have now? He could either fight his way to the stairs or disappear into the wall behind him to rest. The latter worked much better, because he had no idea whether his mana held up to the exit, let alone where he had to go. In addition, he had lost sight of the killings as well as the gains in experience.
Of course he could feel it leveling every now and then, but he didn't look at it. In a quiet moment he leaned against the wall, whereupon he began to shape it. A blink later he was already in a tiny room. Enclosed in stone, in a deceptive security.
Outside he heard a few more spiders scurrying through the rooms. They would go on at war with the goblins as long as the bridge held them all.
They should fight. He would rest and then it would be the turn of the spider matriarch. He already had one or the other idea in the pipeline. His vengeance would come.
After only an hour of deep sleep, he felt fully recovered. The horrors in his head slowly but surely subsided. Instead of just working his way back into the room, he set about expanding this small space. This location was to become his new retreat and base of operations.
A few simple enchantments almost created a sense of home down there. But he wasn't going to stay long enough to take root there. A fixed plan had taken shape in his mind.
With the help of his mana dome, he was able to make out most of the cavities during his excavations, which he deliberately avoided until he reached the massive chamber full of spiders.
Of course, he worked his way up to the matriarch's personal area. The dome had clearly identified them. Also, there appeared to be a few hundred eggs where it was. Always ready to hatch, which will almost certainly give the spiders the upper hand over the goblins. Unfortunately, the many little bastards would never see the light of day.
He needed to save as much mana as possible for his next operation. Again and again he was forced to perform scans from above so that he had the exact dimensions of the spider's chamber.
A simple tour around the chamber that led in a slow incline until it cut out almost enough of the cuboid. Individual stone struts as well as another layer of stone secured the massive block, which almost certainly took up a double-digit ton area.
Of course, he couldn't help but whistle "When Johnny comes marching home" all the time. Especially after his plan began to take shape.
While he didn't own a truck full of gold or a whole squad of unscrupulous soldiers, he found it just right.
The matriarch certainly already sensed the impending danger for herself and her personal nest. But she certainly wouldn't leave her nest unguarded either. From there on he left his plan until he recovered.
During the entire reshaping process, he had to pause more than once to replenish his mana supply.
The layer of stone above the matriarch herself was already very thin. Above it rose a 10m × 10m tunnel, where he compacted all of the stone as best he could in the cuboid above that was ready for his appearance at any time.
Magna really hated these spiders from the depths of his heart. It should be a relaxed dungeon exploration, looting, and sideline. But the moment these hairy monsters came up to devour him, the whole thing just got personal.
Shortly after its last filling, he tore away the last pillars of the square with the stone formation, so that it began to fall into the depths. There were only moments, moments and the world seemed to move in slow motion in his view.
To him it seemed as if the whole dungeon had taken a breath, the next thing that reached his ears was a deafening noise. The stone struck the matriarch and her nest with the force of a god. No matter how big the spider might have been under the tons of stone, it was just crushed. Her brood died with her. She didn't die alone. As he expected, she sensed an impending danger but had no idea where it was coming from. So she must have ordered a fair number of other spiders into her nest.
Not only did the stone crush them or their eggs alone, it crushed a dozen of the others as well. Nor was she ready to leave the nest when the next generation was about to be born, which would ensure her survival in the dungeon.
But the stone didn't just flatten it, it drove the corpse into the next cavern below!

The last message was repeated a few times. Before taking a look at his step.
In a matter of seconds, he climbed more stairs than ever before - it turned out to be the best high of his life.
He had reached level 133. Within seconds he had climbed 34 steps, being sure that he hadn't cracked the 100 beforehand, but had scratched the 99 with two levels? Darn it, now he wished he knew his exact level before climbing.
[System: You have passed level 101. Evolution available! Do you want to develop?]
"No, not yet!"
The system did not bother him any further, after which he could take a deep breath, because first he had to secure his position, withdraw so that he could create a place where he could carry out the development.
Only the news got him out of the trance he was in. His gaze returned to the room below. Spiders were scurrying around everywhere.
Very quickly he disappeared into a prepared room before the other spiders could begin to better explore the scene. Behind him he kept compacting the stone. On the way back to his retreat point he was always afraid they would break in through the next wall.
What he didn't know was that his bridge still existed. There the spiders fought a fierce battle to keep the goblins out of their territory. But contrary to his expectations, the matriarch had called her strongest fighters into the chamber to safely give birth to the next generation. Not knowing that reinforcements never arrived, they fought with the last stand. They were driven back further and further. Soon the transition was already in the hands of the armed goblins who were only surprised by guerrilla attacks from below the bridge.
When he arrived in the prepared room, where after a few scans it could be certain that the next room was not occupied either, he simply had to satisfy his curiosity. Before he did anything he needed information about the battle going on on the bridge.
Only a moment later he had worked his way to the balcony of his previous escape. Almost nothing was left of the spider's presence on his side of the ravine. Separated from their matriarch and their reinforcement, they had completely lost the transition, so that the little gray, red-eyed hordes poured over the image to his side.
Estimating the forces of the opposing force on the spider's side did not exactly fuel his optimism about his situation. He still had no idea how the dungeons worked or why their inhabitants didn't always try to break out, but he became more and more painfully aware that he had to do something about the bridge.
With a bit of luck, the few goblins that have arrived should weaken each other with the spiders and possibly eliminate them. Well, luck was nothing that he really dared to bet, but you could, as we know, help luck a little.
So why not here either? Unfortunately, the transition he reinforced was beyond the reach of his magic, otherwise he would have easily collapsed the structure from there. For the first time in a while, he sorely missed a greater range for his magic.
So he had two options, either to get closer to the bridge or to fire something with enough acceleration in the hope of destroying the bridge.
The first method was guaranteed, but the second gave him a certain distance that has always been tempting. Who does not like to hit his enemy from a long distance, as snipers usually did.
