With a lot of luck, Arnwald had made it out of the pit. On the night of the battle he fell with his griffin. This lost orientation in the sandstorm, but he managed to keep the reins tame, whereupon both found place on a protruding rock ledge in the pit. Here they spent the rest of the night until the new day. He didn't know how the battle had gone or what had become of his squadron Greifen Reiter! But he could still see several falling as the griffins lost their strength and could no longer hold the dust in the air. In addition to other claws or other flying animals, a large number of the lizards also appeared to have fallen into the pit. As soon as the dust settled, he wanted to at least take an inventory of the bottom of the pit. Reaching the bottom was even faster than expected,
His prince was also found buried under a bunch of guardsmen. At last he could retrieve it and strap it onto the back of his griffin. Garwig would be able to carry them both. Shortly after leaving the pit, he was sure he had seen a stray scout, but he could be wrong. There was an incredible amount of dust in the corner of his eye! At second glance he couldn't see much from above, but a bourgeoisie was none of his business. The prince's body took precedence.
It was a long time before we got away from the battlefield because creatures had been seen flying in the sky over and over again.
Eventually he had to lie on the back of Leica, whereupon his cloak melted nicely into her fur, making him identifiable as a wolf from above, unless the person identified him directly with a skill.
Leica carefully carried him up the river. Before that, he shared the route with her in his mind. Basically, the instructions weren't rocket science, because she only had to follow them for a while until more trees appeared again. He also remembered that the river was more towards the deeper part of the forest. For one thing, his curiosity about the unknown grew much faster than his fear of new dangers.
On the other hand, he thought about when he would approach the people of this world. People have always been able to scare him a lot more. At times he was terrified of himself. However, he also missed socializing with others. To have conversations, to make friends, but first he wanted to feel safe enough to be able to enter the human society of this new world. At least he wanted to gather enough power. He also did not know how women were treated in this society. Perhaps he would have been a lot less paranoid as a man.
Unmotivated to deal with people now, he turned his gaze into the deeper forest. Repeatedly he ran his hand through Leica's fur, which felt terribly comfortable under his little hands.
“Well my little one, ready for a new adventure called life? Let's see how deep we can get before a creature beats the shit out of us. ”
Of course she couldn't understand him, but that didn't matter because he needed it! That or at some point the madness would overwhelm him. Basically he was talking to himself again.
Surprisingly, Leica didn't look at him in confusion. Instead, there was something in her eyes that he would have called adventure, or maybe even wanderlust? To be on the safe side, he took out the notebook, using one of the pages to make a simple card. For this purpose he entered the river as a landmark. The river had become an excellent waypoint. Further down the river he marked a cross for the sinkhole. Another line roughly to the south from his position should be the clearing. He only used one corner of the map.
“Now we are explorers, sorry, Leica you don't understand, but I'm not a girl and probably never will be, even if I'm slowly getting used to this new body and its advantages. "
" Am I actually talking to myself again? Leica? Are you listening? ”
Leica looked at him curiously.
“You should learn one thing about us humans, because we are terrible creatures of habit. We can learn a great deal about ourselves from our habits. Hm. ”
“ Well,go on an adventure! ”
let'sTogether with Leica, she hiked for some time into the deeper areas of the forest, for which they used the course of the river. Without a skill to properly mark the path or another that did not refer to getting lost, the water was the only alternative to penetrate deeper, otherwise they would have got lost. At least did he know he was lost? Would Leica have gotten lost? Could she mark the trees with her scent or should another creature eliminate that scent at the first opportunity? Better to be on the safe side.
Where they were initially avoided by some beasts, the attacks became more frequent as soon as the beasts returned to their level, but most of the fighting should be at Leica. Even if she believed that Leica would always have been able to find water, why should they give up the river as a source of drinking water when it was so courteous?

The forest itself seemed to get thicker and denser on their way. Although its appearance looked like a European forest, everything else was much more reminiscent of a dense jungle. Roots ran everywhere. The ambient mana seemed to get thicker with each further penetration. The fauna also became more and more dangerous compared to the chameleon raptor which now appeared so weak. They even met one on their way. He could remember how much he had feared it once, and a lot more Leica hit him. This creature tried to escape the moment they saw it. Leica jumped at her very quickly and grabbed her. Which soon filled both of their stomachs. The meat didn't taste very good. At the end of the day it was still predator meat, and predators had a habit of tasting different.
Maybe he was just missing a little garlic? He panicked a little at the thought of garlic. What would he do if there wasn't one in this world? A life without garlic is no life has always been his motto. It definitely had to be on his list for him. Just like salt and pepper simply couldn't be missing.
Did he find a creature that could be processed excellently into Mett? He would actually miss this original German dish.
A few days flew by and now the deeper they got, the more dangerous the creatures became. It wasn't long before they had to work together again. An incredibly big ape? Could it be called a monkey? It had four arms! Yeah, damn four damn arms had that thing! Its teeth were razor sharp, its fur was deep brown and it swung down from a tree on top of the two, causing both of them to burst apart to escape the falling thing. It clearly seemed to consider Leica to be the greater threat, which is why it turned its back on it. Something that turned out to be a fatal mistake for the animal.
In this fight, however, he found one thing. As the environment mana increased, so did the abilities of the creatures. On its first attempt to pierce the creature with an earth spear from below, it appeared to have a shield that prevented the spear from entering it. He turned around, terribly angry about the situation, which brought him into focus, only to be jumped at by Leica, which bit him in the throat! He grabbed her with two of his arms and simply hurled Leica against the tree, from which he jumped down. In the meantime, Magna used the break to throw various spells at him. Among them were wind scythes, which again simply deviated from his skin, whereupon the monkey lunged forward on him, almost getting hold of him if he hadn't called his mana shield in time to block him from grasping. Leica turned back to face the creature after she pulled herself up, hurled some of her ironfur spears at him, and launched another attack. Seizing the opportunity, Magna reached for something he hadn't used in a while. In rapid fire, he shot as many of his mana cartridges as he could at the creature, which made its natural shield flicker. The shield itself appeared to be right above the skin. It took a few moments, but soon some of the bullets began to penetrate inside.
He was disappointed to find that the damage he caused was negligible. He even wondered if he was giving the monkey something like a massage, because it just moaned in a relaxed manner. Finally, he kept firing cartridges of pure mana at his shield, which only gave him a puzzled look after it distanced Leica with two arms before turning his gaze back to Magna.
With more concentration he began to aim at the eyes of the monkey who instinctively sensed the approaching danger and covered his eyes with the other two arms. At the same moment he threw some napalm balls at him, which immediately set the giant on fire. Despite the shield protecting him, the fires that spread over him blocked his view.
After a moment the shield flickered one last time and finally collapsed.
It was just useless, the flames had overloaded his shield, but had hardly done any damage to the fur. He had to be much more confrontational. With another thought, Leica began to occupy him again, whereupon he jumped onto his back from behind and clung to the monkey's neck. Striking two arms at Leica, grabbing two arms at him, he drew the dagger and rammed the monkey right into his skull. It didn't feel like a hot knife through butter to him, but more like a sledgehammer versus a front door. Before that he had remembered a scene that stuck in his head and started to create a magic in connection with electricity. Until the moment when he needed new spells, he kept forgetting to create new ones. Of course, the spell itself was far too chaotic to be converted directly into a skill, but it was enough to drive the current straight through the dagger into the beast's brain.
Hit by the blow, the monkey lashed out once, throwing Magna off his back and crashing into the tree next to Leica, which elicited a strong moan of pain and yet the attack had had an effect, because the creature's eyelids fluttered for a few seconds until he was just a lot backwards.
[System: You killed a level 98 four-armed shield monkey. You killed an enemy 20 levels above your own. Bonus experience granted.]
The damn thing was actually near the hundreds range, but wasn't that the end of the flagpole? Did he miss something? Could that hardly have been the most powerful creature in this forest? No! Impossible, so what did he miss? Did you go beyond level 100? What came after
He clenched his teeth in pain trying to get up. The impact had neatly dislocated his shoulder. Knowing what was coming, he got up with the other hand and leaned his dislocated shoulder against the monkey's former tree, which seemed to reach gigantic heights. With a little run-up, his shoulder slammed into the tree and back into the joint, causing him to clench his teeth in pain.
[System: The void in you increases your pain tolerance for injuries inflicted on.]
you"Oh, thank you System. Thanks for the reminder. ”
It wasn't a perfect solution to the shoulder problem, but he had to hope that a little healing, as well as vitality, would do the rest. Strolling over to the monkey, he could see that he had broken off the handle of the dagger and that the blade itself was still stuck in the skull. The dagger hadn't survived the idea, but he admitted that he'd rather trade a dagger for life. At least he still kept one of the two handguns.
Unfortunately, they couldn't take the corpse with them, because the warehouse was already full, but at least there seemed to be a crystal in it. Leica sniffed close to the monkey's chest. She couldn't tell him any more where the thing was! It took an hour to work your way through the flesh to get the crystal the size of a tennis ball out of your chest. As much as he would have liked to skin the monkey, they had no choice but to leave him lying there.
The fight had been tough on both him and Leica, but sleeping next to a fresh corpse with an abundant odor of blood was not an option either.
He decided to call this a day and went a few kilometers with the Leica to at least gain some distance from the carcass, which would certainly have attracted more powerful predators.
The moment he tried to sit by the river, he heard a distant noise, but very faint.
