The whole fight between him and the tree was more than just exhausting. After that he was just a mess. He would probably have died there on the spot if Leica hadn't found the strength to pull him back to the house. In this condition, even the smallest beast could probably have finished him off, like one of the rats it caught.
He was not immortal, nor did he have any of the massive skills from the stories that he enjoyed devouring while studying. The peaceful days in his new home almost seemed like a cunning lie that he told himself to distract himself from the harsh world, his new surroundings and the various experiences. Most of the stories unfortunately always left out the connected dreams, even if his morality had already become very adaptable, for which he had to thank Nietzsche inwardly.
His whole exterior had become a mess of the extra class. His equipment had been torn, torn, or otherwise compromised in several places. Without self-repairing, his clothes would have been hopelessly destroyed. When he woke up, he was still bleeding from several orifices. Some were superficial cuts or burst vessels. His whole body felt like it was chewed through and puked.
After regaining consciousness, he immediately inspected his mana and telekinesis to open the door to stumble inside. Leica followed him directly inside.
Only when the beam between the wall and the door found its predetermined place could he breathe deeply. Safe was something else, but feeling safe was worth a lot in and of itself because it would effectively lower his stress level.
In fact, the black blood couldn't affect him any less at that moment. The vitality also made its contribution, which not only facilitated its wound healing, but also made it faster. While some internal injuries would take time, they should also heal.
On the other hand, as in the Alchemy Tome, some of the medicinal herbs would be brewed into a tea that he could consume for recovery. To support the whole thing, he fired the smaller healing at himself at regular intervals.
For the next, he turned his gaze to the two messages that were still buzzing in his field of vision. Not even at the moment when he was taking off his clothes did he push them aside.
[System: Congratulations. They have again, as expected, defeated a very powerful enemy beyond their own level of evolution and their own level. Whether by sheer luck or not, they came up with a strategy that worked. Bonus levels were awarded. Bonus experience has been awarded.]
[System: Congratulations. They have replaced their Fireball skill with Invisible Fireball.]
[System: Bonus experience acquired for upgrading a spell.]
The system not only seemed to recognize his achievements, but also rewarded both of them with an additional seven levels in their level. The two messages contained very valuable information for him. It is probably very general information, because in the magical reading he did not find anything mentioned about it, which is why many simply know it. General knowledge has always been something that he seemed to lack in this world. He was not even aware of the standards of money, earnings and goods.
From what was left he could only guess. People's possessions said a lot about them. One of his favorite occupations was looking at other people's purchases at the checkout. Whether they lived alone or ran a household. How they fed themselves and many other things could be seen from very simple things.
At first he knew that paper seemed expensive for the average, but was much more affordable for noblemen in both quantity and quality. What came out of both the notebook and the use of it, and the mad magician's books.
Perhaps it was even a rare thing that this Slayer he found or what was left of her could read and write.
He spent the next few days licking his wounds. Leica was hardly any different from him, because she, too, spent more time resting. Their large food supply did not force them to hunt. Most of it was dried meat, but that didn't make it any less essential.
With this event, the blood willows had become a serious problem. There were several advantages to eradicating them and important disadvantages as well. Basically this flora was a single minefield for anyone who wanted to get to this place. Which made them an effective defense. On the other hand, their systematic elimination would not only make the hunt itself safer, but they would also effectively collect stages in it.
For now, however, he would leave her alone. Instead, he used the time to instruct Leica on their stage wins. But she had pumped almost everything into her vitality right after the fight.
In a long time he took more than a few seconds to check his status. His statistics had grown on a good scale. However, he didn't like crooked numbers, so he started by putting 5 in his strength and 55 in his intelligence. The last 45 he decided to put into his toughness.
The recent wounds had, in a way, taught him a lesson. He had completely neglected this value since arriving in this world. Unfortunately, he didn't have a lot of options when setting his points. After all, he did not live in any city, could not hide behind guards, walls and other hiding places. So far, he has chosen life out there for himself and Leica. Of course, at some point he should go into the cities as well as among people.

Leica's status didn't look bad on its own either, with her points clearly focused on fighting and taking damage. It almost seemed like Leica was simply gaining more and more lives with each fight. Her toughness, too, was much higher than his own. Surely this contributed to her getting out of the whole situation much better.
She slept most of the time, and he kept applying the little healing to her as well. Every little bit should help them both.

Also showed in their skills that combat has been the quickest method of all to level. Which did not necessarily indicate the most efficient methodology. Mastering one's skills, using them at the right moments and using them as effectively as possible required experience and practice.
This only made the list of things that he had to change or add much longer, and any postponement would inevitably be linked to his ability to survive. That the struggle for survival was over had been wishful thinking.
Magna: "So much more to do and so little time."
His voice sounded terribly tired, even with the feminine undertone. So what else could he do but clench his fists and bite through? It was time to consult his biology knowledge. Should the perfectly restored memories from the system help a little more! Plus, his brain felt so much more powerful.
He just needed that upgrade in his healing skills. This not only included a larger basic healing, but also something against poisons, diseases and possibly lost limbs. The latter would most likely be incredibly painful, but necessary. With a bitter smile he thought of how the void in him should benefit from it.
Another important point was healing potions as described in the Compendium of Alchemy. However, qualitative statements about their modes of action were missing. Did it just replenish vitality? Was he alive as long as his body could regenerate free from external influences? Was he thinking too scientifically about the problem again? After all, in theory, mana could achieve almost anything.
He spent the next few days dissecting another of the rats. A part of him was really interested in their structure, because so far most creatures followed a traceable evolutionary course despite magic, whereby this could also be due to their instincts. He also further compared his knowledge with some of the books the magician owned. His crazy but still innovative form of research should also suggest some critical works in his collection.
It was precisely these days that ensured that his image of this feudal society continued to fade. At one point he almost shouted his little library together: "Savages, these are cursed savages"! In frustration, he even tossed one of the books against the wall. Her knowledge of biology was incredibly rudimentary in nature! Many of the works were just introductions and the later versions were missing from their collection. Perhaps this magician had moved into the dungeon with as much material as it was empty, only to then leave it with the newly filled material, but still took some of the more important works with him.
Unfortunately, a substantial part of his biology knowledge could already have become obsolete. Could vitality regenerate a leg? To test this, Magna only had to sever something from one of the rats, and it appeared to grow back extremely slowly. Either they had a skill or vitality was really able to regenerate things at a conditioned speed. Well, it wasn't like many other novels in which the limbs grew almost magically. One of his assumptions was that the system could use energies that were available, as well as allocate which mana and life force contained. At what level this worked was just science fiction and fantasy for him. How else should you describe something like that? It wasn't really practical, however.
He was still meditating for at least another hour a day! Usually after a learning process to internalize it. Sometimes just to relax, but every now and then he got a glimpse of himself.
It gave him an interesting thought. Could he design a mana scan?
Being able to do a body scan could give him a more accurate picture of his physiology, as well as that of other creatures. Based on this, he could then design spells to initiate healing processes.
It should also enable him to find more substantial differences in the biology of different life forms. With these thoughts he fell asleep. The next day he was more energetic than he had been in a while and since they stopped the hunt and he needed ideas for his spell, he needed something to distract his mind from time to time.
From stone he created a small disc that stood on a thick stick that led through a stone structure that he had previously formed. The construction looked like a miniature table with a round hole in the middle through which the rod led down. He molded a bit of the rest of the metal into springs to operate a pedal, which in turn operated a couple of gears that turned the rod on the plate.
With a little water, some clay and his hands he began to shape it over and over again. In one corner of his courtyard there was already a small kiln for the clay in which it was to harden later. The furnace itself was operated with patterns to generate heat. Although this was an enormous waste of beast crystals, it was the simplest method to keep the temperature exactly over a longer period of time.
To find out the best temperature. Well, the little mountain of broken clay discs by the stove spoke volumes of shame already.
Just kicking the disc, as well as shaping it with his hands, was a simple but relaxing distraction for him. With this he could calmly go through ideas in his head while he formed small tiles for soap, small reagent-sized bottles for his aspiring laboratory, and kettles for alchemy with his hands. Lost in thought he even formed a very life-like form of a male member without really noticing it. He could only sigh as he looked at it.
Magna: “Will that pass as art? Probably not. ”
With a childish chuckle, he kept the thing and placed it on a proud pillar in his small main hall, which must have become a better living room.
He accepted the skill in creating pottery he had gained through practice and immediately ignored it without actually reading it.
The soaps were quite simple to make, although he seemed to lack the milk for them. Once again he could only exhale in resignation. At least he managed to get hold of a bark from a tree that was similar enough to cork to serve as a stopper for some of the vials. After checking, the clay kettle had an incredibly poor conductivity of mana, which was only just above the stone, but was still better than stone, but it was precisely the lack of conductivity that protected its contents more efficiently, making the small clay bottles probably even useful.
In his anticipation of alchemy, he almost forgot the magic he wanted to create ...
