Chapter 15 - Rewards

Magna: “Damn it at last! It took long enough! ”

[System: Do you want to claim your magical memory?]

Magna: “ Hell, yes. Always bring it on. Daddy is ready for you! That's what I've been waiting for! ”

Out of nowhere, a single bracer materialized and fell into his open palms. For a long moment he just stared at the object in disbelief, because he had expected something like a ring, bracelet or even a necklace, but no bracer, since he already had two. Should he have to take one for it?

He looked at the bracer with his ability to identify.

[System: Magical memory that forms an extra dimension. The object has a volume of approx. 40 cubic meters. Time is stopped within the extra dimension. Not suitable for living objects. The item is soul-bound. Activation after creation. To be worn next to the skin]around

There was basically no way it but to put on this bracer. So he took off the left bracer and put the new one on there after undressing his arm. The bracer suddenly began to glow in different patterns. The next thing he could feel was massive pain. Long spikes protruded from the inside of the black metal bracer and dug deep into the flesh. His sudden cry made Leica tense. He cursed some curses and believed to have found a real and true sadist in the system. The spines themselves weren't the strangest thing, but what followed. It seemed as if the metal was liquefying and flowing through the spikes into the interior of his body. Shortly afterwards he felt a massive burning sensation that felt as if boiling water was poured into his flesh. A moment later, thankfully, he passed out.

After a time unknown to him, it seemed he would regain his senses. After blinking for a few seconds, he could make out some threads of drool on his face. Before he could react, however, a massive tongue licked his face. Leica tried to wake him up.

Magna: “It's good my little one. I am fine. I was just surprised. Taken by surprise. Enough drool! ”

He grabbed her fur by the neck and cuddled his hands in it. Only then did he notice some patterns that ran over his left hand and up his forearm to the upper arm, and then probably ended up under the linen shirt on his left shoulder blade, but he couldn't be 100% sure about that. It looked like a tattoo, although it appeared to be black and silver. Some of the lines reminded me of modern tribal tattoos!

Magna: “Well that seems like a life choice. It will almost certainly not be lasers.”

Leica looked at him questioningly, but he simply waved it off.

Magna: "Still seems like I'm talking to myself and nobody else."

He exhaled a little laboriously, because at least the tattoo wasn't particularly ugly. So there was some consolation for him. He almost forgot the purpose of the tattoo as he dressed again and finally reattached his actual bracer to his forearm. It should be time to test this new thing. He focused his will on the patterns until an imaginary space appeared in front of him in his mind. This room had been completely empty. Finally he turned his thoughts to his backpack, which he then saw vanishing into nothingness with a brief blooming of the patterns. A moment later it reappeared in its imaginary memory.

Suddenly he started laughing like crazy. Outstanding, really outstanding! It shot through his mind. The backpack didn't even take up a small corner of the room. However, there wouldn't really be much room in it for monster corpses. At least not for very many of the bodies. Finally, he turned his attention to the shelves that still held books. With a few more thoughts, entire rows of books disappeared in its pattern, only to reappear shortly afterwards in dimensional memory. He took as many of the books with him as he could. It was a madman's library, but that didn't have to make the books worthless. The enchantments, runic scripts, and some of the other times seemed to have value.

It didn't take long before the library was emptied. The system reminded him that he was still entitled to rewards. Rewards that he almost forgot in his memory intoxication.

The system messages still seemed to flash. So he turned his attention to another message.

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

[System: Do you want to claim the I - III Encyclopedia of Alchemy, its potions, known herbs and related spells?]

He had to pause for a long moment to answer this question. Wasn't the original reward different? If he remembered correctly, the other rewards should have been smaller too. There was never any mention of additional equipment in the equipment and the storage should also be 10 cubic meters smaller. It took a few moments before he got back to talking to the stranger. Before his anger and something overcame him, he got another message from the system after the stranger made him an offer to work together. Apparently the system had topped up his rewards to keep him going. Basically he couldn't care less. Any extra was welcome. Not long torch he used the books only to have them disappear directly into his attic. It was not the time to rest and inspect the merits. Another system message seemed to flash faster and faster by his side. After a few moments his face took on a completely new shade that was reminiscent of pale.

[System: T - 15:45 minutes until the dungeon collapses completely. Evacuation recommended.]

Magna: "You are kidding me?!? No. No. I'm just about to collect everything here. All the crystals and everything in the dungeon. Why? Are you doing this on purpose? ”

Knowing that the system would never give him an answer, he immediately set about leaving this place behind with Leica. He stormed down the hallway to the storerooms with her. Once there, he didn't even have enough time to look through things, but moved one small storage room after another into his attic, keeping his attention on metals, leather goods, slaves, herbs and crystals. He managed a few of the rooms until the clock reached 10 minutes and he didn't even have the time to make well-considered decisions, which is why he simply threw everything he saw into his memory until it was finally full. Satisfied with his prey, he nodded and continued on to the ledge of the cavern. Once there, the water was already very high again. His provisional staircase was already below the waterline and the crocodile-like creatures were already bustling around in the water, unsuspecting of the existing misfortune! Already regretting wasting the time on resources, he had to find a quick solution to the problem. If he guessed correctly, the last thing that held this dungeon together was the system's barrier in this area.

Magna: “Seriously? Are you all kidding me? Where's the damn hidden camera? ”

Of course, nobody would jump out and surprise them with a slogan about a hidden camera. The whole situation just smelled like a huge pile of shit waiting in line for the next Monster Fan out there. Closing the hole again would not be an option, if the cavern as a whole collapsed, then an insane sinkhole would open up above the earth, which tears everything down with it and when it was that far, then he did not necessarily want to be at the bottom of it Countersunk hole. The water, which once seemed like a good idea, got a completely new aftertaste, because it only continued to destabilize the whole situation while cracks already seemed to form on the walls. There were only two options, either running along the wall and shaping the earth at the same time, or through the lake by freezing the water for a short time, but he didn't have a freeze spell ready. Basically, he knew what it took to bring the water to a standstill, as he did before with the blood spear. However, it was a question of completely different proportions.

Cursing loudly again, he reluctantly moved to form the wall of the cave next to the ledge. Pulling a simple continuous lead had become very easy for him.

The breaking out crystals disappeared with another hand movement in his memory, which still had a bit of space. He was running out of time during the forming process. Saving his breath instead of using him to curse his bad luck, more and more rock burst as a way out of the cave wall. Halfway through the walk, the clock reached 6 minutes. Too long. Much too long! It kept rushing through his head in panic.

He never thought it would be this value, but a reminder of his remaining points made him stick all of them into agility. As soon as the points were distributed, his speed increased considerably. Leica could easily keep up with him. Arriving on the other side, he had to quickly form a few steps on his own ledge, which he reached with one last big jump. He only had 1 minute left before the dungeon collapsed and so he stumbled up the spiral staircase, placing the spare backpack and the spare equipment

in the last free corner of his storage room. From there it was only 45 seconds. Knowing that he would never make it up to the top and the rooms of his hiding place destroyed by the floods, let alone by the chaos that raged over the earth with great certainty, the only direction he had was left with which he knew it was not going ran the dungeon himself. Immediately he began to shape the earth in such a way that a narrow tunnel was created in the direction deeper into the forest. The only way to get away from it all. Here, speed times distance was prioritized over safety.

After 15 seconds he had successfully exited the dungeon and after 30 more he could hear an enormous rumble from behind. Daring to look back, his new tunnel was already beginning to collapse from the beginning. Still digging forward, he stretched his spell as far as he could and dug a huge long corridor with an outrageously high amount of mana, whereby his mana supply tended to the bottom again! Unclear whether the tunnel collapsed first or whether he ran out of mana, he stormed forward. Reaching into the distance, he already created firmer ground. Solidified the walls, the ceiling, keeping the whole room relatively small.

With one last jump from the loosening floor, the two made it into the room by a hair's breadth. The next time she looked back, a massive sinkhole had opened. It had swallowed everything. Not the cavern alone, but the tunnels beneath it, or whatever the water had an impact on, had collapsed. The sky and its stars were covered with a thick layer of smoke. The river just flowed down the sinkhole like a waterfall in the distance. The depth of the whole thing should remain completely unknown to him.

One look at his mana reserves could only make him dizzy. At the front of his notch in the wall of the sinkhole, a few of the solidified stones crumbled into the depths only to leave him with an open ear, which waited in vain for the stones to hit. A few moments later, he decided to close the opening, but leave a breathing hole in it. Sweating heavily, completely exhausted, but a lot richer, he fell back on his bum. Leica went to his side. It was surprising how little she was out of breath from it all.

Magna: “What do you mean, my little one? Are we going on a long vacation? Do you think they have something like a beach here, a couple of Tequila Sunrise and a comfortable hotel? You do not have to answer. Not that you could, even if it would have been nice, but apparently we have to make do with this small room in the middle of nowhere in the largest toilet hole in the world. "

Tired, he began to lean against the Leica. The cuddly soft fur was supposed to catch up with him, because it always seduced him into a very deep sleep. Leica, on the other hand, couldn't understand any of his words, except for the feelings they contained, which clearly showed how tired she was. It didn't even bother her that her companion always described herself as a male, but was just happy to be with her. As a wolf she was no longer alone in this world and she wouldn't let anyone take that away from her. Leica began to wrap herself protectively around her, her tail covering the other side.
