Chapter 7.5

Endermon thanked the camels, went back and found the person. She made a deal and even though there were no problems, Endermon happened to have some of the fruit the camel mentioned. The person's eyes lit up and it looked like they were going to cry, they were so happy.

After dinner, while they were in a smaller tent with partitions put up to have the illusion of a private bedroom, Endermon was getting ready for bed, when Shiloh peeked her head in.

Endermon patted the space next to her and Shiloh slipped in and lie down. They snuggled together and Endermon said she thought it was time they had a serious talk about what they were to each other.

Endermon said they didn't have to label it, but if Shiloh wanted to, they wouldn't have to hide it either. Shiloh sat in silence for a bit, so Endermon thought she might have just ruined everything.

One of Shiloh's hands came up to lift Endermon's face to look her straight in the eyes. Shiloh said that's all she wanted since they met up at the tavern, before the adventure really started. Since Endermon initiated their second kiss.

Endermon blushed and hid her face in Shiloh's shoulder. Shiloh chuckled and said they could take it as slow or as fast as they wanted, and if Endermon did not wish to hide what they had, Shiloh didn't mind. Endermon tried not to squeal with happiness. But for the sake of those sleeping, kept it to herself somehow.

When Endermon woke up in the morning, Shiloh was gone, but Endermon couldn't stop grinning. She joined the group for breakfast and as the other two were getting the horses ready, Endermon stayed behind to give the host the rest of the fruit she had in thanks for their hospitality.

Endermon said goodbye to the camels who were by then, standing up and waiting to go. She was just about ready to leave when the person ran out and gave her a bag of some quick foods that they would commonly eat. She thanked them, and finally the trio was off.

They rode until they saw some rock formations in the distance. Even though they were still a ways away, the excitement was palpable. Somewhere in those rocks were the treasure.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

They had been riding a while and their legs were starting to get sore. So they found a spot, which was really no different from anywhere else they might have picked and dismounted.

Finding some fruits that were not too wilty, Endermon fed the horses. Rummaging around in the cart she found some hay that got bundled a while ago. She gave it to the horse's and they ate what was spread out in front of them. She gave each one some water from the flask that was cupped in her hands.

With the horses okay for the moment, they pulled out the map to see where they were. Easily finding the rock formations on the map, they made a plan to get there, find a shelter of some variety, and look around to see if there were any clues about the treasure.

Not seeing anything from where she was, Endermon walked further away, but could be there in a few seconds if anyone called out. Not seeing anything obvious, Endermon closed her eyes, and tried to think like her parents. Or her father, more specifically. She knew he used to be in the king's service, for what, he never said, but she knew he had to have had innately, or had to develop some abilities.

Endermon ran through several scenarios in her head, and decided the best course of action would be to look out for a cave or something out of place that would do for a marker for something underground. She would need the other two for this.

She went back and told them her plan. They set up a tent for shade and then took off towards the rock formations. It would have been faster to ride, but the horses were resting and they figured if they had a large amount of ground to cover later, then the horses could go longer without a rest.

After walking a bit and no progress seemed to be getting made, Endermon suggested Dresden become an animal, a bird preferably, and see how long it would take to get there. Dresden turned into a vulture and took off.
