Chapter 5.1

As Endermon lay there, not quite asleep, she heard a twig snap coming from where they just came from. Sitting upright, she looked at her companions, hoping they hadn't heard it too. They hadn't, or at least they didn't appear to have. She got up silently, and went towards the noise.

She hoped it was just an animal, so she could get back to sleep. But before she knew it, she was being pulled behind a tree. In the darkness she saw pale skin and dark hungry eyes. She had never been so thankful to be surprised by Shiloh.

Their kiss soon turned into a heavy petting session. There were hands going everywhere but before it could get out of hand as it were, they stopped, with great reluctance. It was clear they both wished for somewhere with the option of privacy.

Staying in each other's arms, they discussed what was coming. The constant travel, the treasure what it might be, and whether it even existed. Endermon said the animals told her about a cave by the seaside where some pirate activity had been in decline in the last several years or so.

Shiloh couldn't even mask her amusement. She started teasing Endermon about talking to the animals. Endermon buried her face in her hands and Shiloh found it incredibly endearing. After gently lifting Endermon's face with one hand, they shared one last kiss and Shiloh said Endermon should get back to the other two and they would see each other the next night.

Endermon smiled and headed back to the small fire that was slowly dying. She added a few small branches and went to sleep. She dreamed the dreamless sleep that came with the truly tired. She was only awakened when Rutus and Dresden were arguing about who was going to make breakfast. Not who was going to make it, more of what was being made and how to make it. Sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, Endermon quickly assessed the situation and directed then how to fix it.

Only being marginally chewy and bland, it was a decent breakfast. While they were eating, they discussed needing directions and supplies. Still not wanting to show her abilities, she said they should make their way into town to trade and stock up.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

They all agreed this was a solid plan and started down the road into town. There was a palpable excitement between the three as they were finally going to start looking for the treasure. It took a couple hours and the sun was high in the sky when they got there.

Thinking it would be best if they split up and covered different shops and specialties. Rutus went to the metal smiths and got basic armor fittings for the group. Dresden went to the food stalls and charmed, flirted, and otherwise dishonestly acquired food and ingredients. And finally Endermon went and got medicinal and pitional supplies.

The three met up on the edge of town. They discussed the things they got and how they were going to carry it all. They tossed around the idea of renting a cart, but that only meant that at some point they would have to return it. They didn't know if they would be returning to that particular town, so they figured buying some horses would be the best course of action.

With Rutus's temper and Dresden's blatant disregard for the truth, Endermon went to close the deal. They pooled all the rest of their money and valuable trade items and Endermon went off to get the horses. She went to a stable with a sketchy looking figure standing by the door.

Immediately feeling something was off, she asked to see the animals for sale. When that was denied, she left his field of vision. She sent an urgent message to any birds in the area to distract the man so she could go talk to the horse's without him there. Having a bracelet with small gemstones she had purchased for her mother when she got home.

Breaking it up into smaller pieces to incentivize the crows further, she left them on the ground as an offering. Soon enough a very large crow came by and within a few seconds, signaled the other crows in the area and took the bracelet pieces. Then in no time at all, there was a terrified scream coming from in front of the barn. The man was being attacked from all directions by angry and excited crows.
