Chapter 7.2

They ate, and Endermon brought up how east things seemed to be going. While the other two didn't notice anything suspicious, it nagged at Endermon. Frustrated, she got up and wandered around in the semi-darkness. When her hand got grabbed, she smiled and said hello to Shiloh.

Shiloh faked a pout and said she had an unfair advantage. Endermon turned to her, amusement clear on her face. Shiloh said nothing but grinned clearly pleased with herself. Endermon let it go and they continued walking hand in hand.

Eventually Endermonsaid that this part of the trip was starting to irritate her. Shiloh asked her why, and Endermon said it felt like things were being handed to them, whereas in the first part, it was actually exciting trying to find things out on their own.

Shiloh hummed and suggested they head back before they were missed. Endetmon said okay and they wandered back to the fire. Not that anyone noticed Endermon had left in the first place. They were too busy playing poker, and by the looks of it, Rutus was winning, by a lot.

Shiloh asked if Endermon would be okay alone for a bit. She nodded and Shiloh zipped off. While the poker game was going on, Endermon took off her armor and set up her cot. Soon enough Dresden was out of chips and even though he grumbled about it, handed Rutus an unopened bottle from his stash. Endermon wondered what Rutus bet.

But with Shiloh not back yet, for the first time since she started the adventure, Endermon felt alone. She didn't know why, and she hated it. It wasn't like they were an official couple either. But without Shiloh's cool skin and even breathing either behind, or next to her, Endermon couldn't sleep.

With this revelation, she knew she had to tell Shiloh how she was feeling, regardless if Shiloh felt the same way about her. And they probably ought to let the other two know, well if they hadn't guessed already.

Endermon was about to try to force herself to sleep, when she heard a voice softly calling her name. Turning towards it, Endermon saw Shiloh's face. Endermon quickly but quietly went over to her.

Shiloh had the map in her hands and all along the path, Shiloh had circled several seemingly normal points. Shiloh said she went through the route the map said they should take and every spot she had circled was a place where something would be given to them.

Endermon looked at the map again, and she felt foolish that she didn't see it earlier. She said that if they followed the route, yes they'd get stuff they needed, but if they went inland and more or less in a straight line, they'd only get there a day or two later than the map said they would.

Endermon also told Shiloh that she needed to have words with her parents. Shiloh asked what her parents had to do with it, and Endermon said it would be just like them to leave a trail of breadcrumbs for Enfermon to find and feel like she'd figured things out for herself.

Shiloh asked if she was mad, and Endermon said no, she just found it funny. She was curious about the treasure and if her parents had anything to do with it. They folded up the map and made their way back to the campsite.

But as they were settling in, dawn was breaking. So they shared a kiss and Shiloh went to her carriage. Endermon knew she would only get a little bit of sleep, so she planned on making coffee or taking a nap later in the day.

Later on when the morning had made its way into day, Endermon got up and saw the two looking over the map that Shiloh put by the fire. They were arguing over the circled parts. Oh yeah. They didn't know about her parents guide yet. So she pretended to look over the map and said she had a dream that bad things were to happen in the circled spaces.

The other two asked her what they should do instead, and and Endermon found a quill and drew a path right to the treasure. That way they could avoid the possibility of bad things happening. They agreed it was the best plan and went on preparing for the day.
