Chapter 4.2

Shiloh told her that mouth of hers was going to get her into trouble. Endermon just smirked at her and pressed herself into Shiloh's personal space. That hungry look came into Shiloh's eyes, and they kissed each other deeply. Not wanting to stop but also not wanting them getting suspicious, Endermon pulled away. They leaned their foreheads together and Endermon whispered, stay with me tonight?

Shiloh said she would and darted towards the road claiming she missed dinner and would have to hurry before the best ones were gone.

When Endermon was certain she was gone, she made her way back to the campfire. She said she felt better and was starting to gather the dishes to go to the river. Taking a partially burnt branch for light she made her way to the water's edge.

The insects said she was not alone. She turned to see Dresden standing there. She said if he was there he might as well help. He looked surprised. Not because he was being asked to do work, which he would do the least amount of, but because he was so certain that he was being quiet enough to not be noticed.

Hiding his disappointment, he joined her by the water, and took the task of drying the dishes. That way he could claim that he helped if anyone wished to say he never did anything. In a rare moment of uncertainty for Dresden, he turned to Endermon and asked what she knew about Shiloh. Endermon was at once relieved and irritated.

She said she didn't know much, they met briefly at the tavern and when they discovered they were both going after a treasure, Endermon asked if she'd like to join them. Dresden sighed with relief, because now he thought he had a chance with both of them.

But with everything, Dresden had to go and ruin the civil moment by telling Endermon that he wouldn't tell Rutus she destroyed their previous site on purpose if Endermon slept with him. Endermon flat out told him he was disgusting, and not if they were the last two people alive. To drive her point home, she rolled up the rag she was using to clean the dishes and snapped it straight at his groin.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Having finished with her portion of the dishes, she told him to put them by the fire when he was done. She then headed off to her sleeping area to decompress. Cursing at her accuracy and blatant attempt to maim his manhood, he angrily dried the dishes, and just for spite, licked every single one of them. Then he put them by the fire like he was told to. Then he stomped off to his sleeping area to sulk.

As Endermon passed Rutus, who wasn't even trying to pretend she wasn't eavesdropping, asked if what Dresden said was true. Endermon sighed and said no. She just had a bad feeling about where they were and wanted to get them out of there safely.

Rutus was content with that answer, and went back to getting ready for bed. Rutus still didn't trust Shiloh as far as she could throw her, but since she had not proved herself untrustworthy, Rutus decided she would give her a chance. But if there was any hint of wrongdoing, Rutus would be done with her.

This wasn't out of the realm of romantic interests, it was because Endermon was the first person to speak to her like an equal. And people like that were hard to come by.

As Endermon lie down for the night, she felt Shiloh's presence from the treeline. She could tell by her stiff posture that something was bothering the vampire. Feeling drained she beckoned Shiloh over.

Gone was the swagger and self confidence. There was a look of barely contained rage in her eyes. Endermon guessed that it was because of Dresden. Damn him. She patted the space next to her and they lay there in silence.
